Anyone else watching clarkson farm season 2? I’m binge watching it!
Ladybird69 · 13/02/2023 00:06
Don’t read if you are watching one episode at a time. I’m binge watching and loving it. The bloody councillors should be struck off the way they are treating him and through him the other local farmers.
TetherEndOfMy · 13/02/2023 00:09
Is this new? How he is still on air is beyond me. Can't bring myself to watch him.
Ladybird69 · 13/02/2023 00:11
Filmed just as lockdown finished. Yes he’s a Pratt but really sticking up for farmers in the programme.
Floralnomad · 13/02/2023 00:12
We’ve watched the first 2 and I have to say I’m less enamoured than I was by the first series ,I would really hate to live nearby , I would happily stop watching but I’ve been outvoted .
CrkdLttrCrkdLttr · 13/02/2023 00:12
How can you bear to watch such an utterly shit excuse for a human being?
Floralnomad · 13/02/2023 00:13
That should say it will now be on where I’m sitting with me not taking any notice , and yes he’s a complete twat .
Margo34 · 13/02/2023 00:15
Can't stand the man but actually and unexpectedly really enjoyed series 1. He's definitely shining a light on the plight of British farmers which can surely only be a positive thing.
Just started binge watching series 2, too.

A Pratt? That’s an interesting word to use for someone who is racist, ableist, sexist, homophobic...
RedToothBrush · 13/02/2023 00:18
The series is brilliant. It would be a disservice to farmers not to renew for a third series

Pratt is kind. He's a misogynistic arsehole. I could never watch anyone who jokes about humiliating naked women in public, jokes about murdered sex workers and uses the n word. It makes me so angry that he is still being paid by huge influential companies and the message it sends.
whatadoodledo · 13/02/2023 00:40
Before he made disgusting comments about MM I might have watch but now days he is cancelled in my mind.
Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 13/02/2023 01:04
I really felt for the dairy farmer who had a TB outbreak. They really needed the restaurant as did many other farmers and it completely got refused because many dislike Jeremy so much. However for once in his life Jeremy was actually trying to support the local community by providing 25 jobs and by having the struggling local farmers provide fresh locally sourced food for the restaurant.
JaneJeffer · 13/02/2023 01:05
I cried laughing at the chillis in the restaurant with everyone coughing

Its the usual minimising of these issues that we see by some people.
He’s repulsive.

I think he is an arse generally but in this he is superb. He is doing an excellent job at shining a spotlight on the realities of farming at the moment. We watched it all over the weekend and our repeated comment was that he is fortunate in that he has resources from his 'job' that enable him to solve a lot of the issues he has by throwing money and contacts at them, but what of all the other farmers? The dairy farmer was heartbreaking.

"Whatever your views on JC, he's done more for the farming industry in his first series of Clarksons Farm that Countryfile has done in 20 years" - words from a farmer friend of mine on Saturday.
This new series (SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T SEEN IT) has highlighted just how little council Planning Application Committees really care about the local environment. How petty personal feelings can override the greater needs of a farming community (you're not a farmer, you're a TV personality you shouldn't be allowed to do this stuff) and how ridiculous requirements to satisfy one area then clashes with the requirements of another. The prime example - he is told to stop cars parking on the road outside the farm shop but is refused planning permission to put hard core down the other side of the hedge to turn an unsightly quagmire into hard standing for cars.
The refusal of planning for the shop (although I do agree they were daft to sell T shirts from China in a shop that got PP on the basis of only selling local goods) put several people out of work, stopped two local farms selling their products at a small profit and prevented any future employment prospects. The debacle about the restaurant was even more ridiculous - you can't encourage people to diversify then block them at every turn.

I really hate this cancel culture. Someone says something stupid, apologies but that's not enough. They need to be vilified forever. Be kind inly seems to be a concept for some. He might be an arse and a bit of an idiot at times (who isn't), but he is doing something good with his farm. The idiot in the meeting who goes on about it being an area of outstanding beauty, not realising it is only that because the farmers maintain it. The council just trying to be all woke and so everything Clarkson does is wrong, even when it will provide work for loads of locals.
Why can we not just take people as they come. We might disagree with what they say or do but that does not mean they can't also do good things too.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 13/02/2023 09:44
We watched upto 4 so far
What a hard life farmers have
I think it's great it being highlighted and the fact the govt have taken 82k away from farmers is outrageous.
The issues regarding badgers too.

Ah the naivety. 'A bit of an idiot' - yeah OK.
