Interesting seeing Jack Bandeira (Matja) in a different show. I’m watching Lockwood & Co atm - teen ghost hunters on Netflix. He plays the leader of a rival ghost hunting group. It has considerably less depth than HV!

@fairypeasant that's a good point, especially considering it's the BBC... personally I am less worried about being stereotyped than the nails on a chalkboard accents 😂but yes, might be their way of being sensitive, who knows...

I’m not sure if this has already been mentioned (these threads are moving too fast for me to keep up with) but I noticed that Tweedledum and Tweedledee got rid of their cash at the allotments. Does this mean it will be found by Clare (who’s there regularly) or perhaps by TLR (probably a good place to hide out, empty shed etc.)

He did an interesting series last year with Miriam Margoyles called “Miriam and Alan: Lost in Scotland.” In episode 1 he went back to Carnoustie - he didn’t have a happy childhood so it was rather sad. I assume when he was chatting to Miriam it was in his native accent: it sounded Scots to me but I know nothing.

The fridge is odd - we see Joanna preparing food, but never see who locks/unlocks the fridge. Perhaps coat kid has food issues and it's to stop her raiding the fridge.

Wonder why the money last week was buried in an allotment, where things are frequently planted and the ground toiled, someone 'appening on it a distinct possibility. A better choice of hiding place would have been a random isolated bush on way to allotment in my cash stashing opinion..

Re, the domestic abuse question

It was early on during episode one where Rob came home he found Jo had just got out of bed and the girls downstairs. Her friend had picked them up from school and she had phoned him to ask if Jo was ok. She saw he had come home and got dressed quickly. He had been at the football match. The oldest must have had a key I assume as the friend said Jo had been in bed asleep.
She got up , but he then tried to rape her but he stopped , declaring that she wasn't worth it
He found the tablets in her joggers pocket as he wrestled to take them off. He looked in the drawer and found some more tablets and phoned the police that afternoon.

When Faisal came round the first time with some of the anti depressants for her , she asked him if he wanted to go to bed, but the girls were at school at that point. We had seen Rob putting them in the car the following morning as he didn't want her taking them in
I don't think she was an abuser, but her attitude was certainly strange at times and she did forget to pick up the girls. It seemed this had Happened before too.
She certainly wasn't a saint, but I don't think it was her being abusive to him tbh

Rob mentioned to Catherine about the girls having healthy food, so maybe that's why he had a lock on it ? Not that any of his behavior is normal :(

Yes - Mr Viper got all misty eyed over his first car - and old Hillman Hunter - which had this particular foible.

Apparently (If I've got it right) to change gear you have to push the clutch pedal right down, take the car out of gear into neutral, let the clutch pedal come up, push it right down again, put the car int the desired gear, and then let it up again.

@the80sweregreat - I didn’t think Rob was contemplating raping her (I re-watched episode one yesterday). It didn’t come across like that to me when I first watched it nor the second time. He thought she had shoved the pills down her knickers/joggers - and so was trying to find them. Extremely aggressive action but you are right - she is not a perfect mother. She has obviously been worn down by the years of abuse.

re whether Faisal will get his comeuppance - when he goes round to see Jo after she had been arrested he was quite adamant in asking her whether she had removed all the packaging, including the blister packaging the pills were in. I think she had removed the outer packaging but not the blister packaging (didn’t realise it was called this) - so I wonder if this will be his downfall…
