I want Ann to kill TLR.

UrsulaPandress · 29/01/2023 22:11

I was shouting

TELL HIM YOU LOVE HIM

Catherine was so vile to everyone tonight. And the way she mocked Tekeli, all seemed very much out of character for her.

She isn’t likeable at all this series, I’ve found her to be a hard faced cow with none of the wit.

Breezycheesetrees · 29/01/2023 22:13

All the adults around him were shit tonight. Ann was cruel, Daniel was useless, Catherine was cold and horrible. Richard and Ros were pathetic too. I wanted to slap the lot of them. That poor, poor boy.

CuriousMama · 29/01/2023 22:13

See you all next week but probably be Monday for me as am working 😭

You're right, all the warmth has gone.

RandomersAssociation · 29/01/2023 22:14

Nerves shredded.

Armed and dangerous and wrapped in a flowery quilt. That was an evil bit of writing and directing. My God. TLR is like the actual Devil.

I’m afraid Ryan probably will want to kill him. Which will mean Catherine might have to postpone her mighty trip until he gets out of prison. Then they can go together.

That was almost too tense - I was willing it to be over before anyone died.

TokyoSushi · 29/01/2023 22:14

I ended up on a 10 minute delay (bloody kids!) I think Ryan will stitch TLR up.

He knows his Granny loves him really after all she's done for him and I think what Anne says really got through. I think he still has memories of being on the boat with TLR and how he turned nasty really quickly then, Marbella will be the same.

I think that our poor Ryan will actually turn into the hero and somehow TLR will end up dead.

I still really can't see how the Faisal/Joanna/Rob story ties in. I think it's just been a distraction and a sideshow and pretty pointless really but I wait to be proven wrong.

I also wonder about the woman from the farmhouse and the dodgy flats, can't see how they'll come back to that either, but we'll see. TLR could end up at those flats I suppose...

UrsulaPandress · 29/01/2023 22:16

There are always side stories as that’s life.

BlueThursday · 29/01/2023 22:17

Maybe this is Ryan’s cold revenge to TLR. I bloody hope it is anyways.

LilLilLi · 29/01/2023 22:17

How on earth is all of this going to be tied up in one episode?!

I think Ryan will come through in the end, he’ll kill TLR. Probably after TLR tries to kill his granny like another poster said.

Someone will die next episode, I think either Clare or her fella.

midsomermurderess · 29/01/2023 22:17

I thought that Catherine’s son should have taken her aside and told her what Ryan said in the car, that he needed to make up his own mind. Instead she poured all her anger and bitterness on to Claire who looked destroyed. Yes, she did betray Catherine, but she needs to know why.

heartbroken22 · 29/01/2023 22:17

It was really weird no one hugged poor Ryan after all that crap. Poor kid. Do people not hug anymore? No affection?

CloudPop · 29/01/2023 22:18

Poor Ryan

007DoubleOSeven · 29/01/2023 22:18

Getting carried away now but you don't think Ryan's going to die and it's only then that Catherine can tell him she loves him do you?

Then she parts civilly with Claire, their relationship effectively over, and departs for the himalayas in her truck? Last scene: her driving over the hills, freedom ahead of her. Pain behind.

And somethings wrong with that reg no- mark my words, it'll lead to a screw up. Maybe a tragedy leading to Ryan's death and Catherine will not forgive Ann either.

SausageInCider · 29/01/2023 22:18

Everyone would be much happier without Catherine around I think. She’s a nasty hard faced cow - no wonder Ryan is tempted by a fresh start with someone who wants him around. Hope he fucks off to Marbs with TLR, Claire and her fella break ties with Catherine once and for all, and Catherine is left on her own.

I agree. I found that quite upsetting.

AutisticLegoLover · 29/01/2023 22:19

I'm not sure Ryan's has much going on up top to be plotting anything. Poor kid but ffs Ryan.

jibbe · 29/01/2023 22:20

I don’t think Ryan will kill TLR - he will
have the opportunity but not go through with it. He isn’t his Father

You hope he runs off with a psychopath rapist and murderer?

Wow.

She's just totally broken and consumed by pain and survival. I've seen it irl - with time people come back out of it. But it's like her son saying earlier in the episode that she was "out of her head" - she is now, she's mad with fear, grief, rage, pain, hurt, betrayal. Finding out that her family conspired to help Ryan see his dad has sent her right back to where she was when her daughter died. It's her ptsd - remember she saw her daughter again straight after she found out?

Teafor1please · 29/01/2023 22:21

I feel like no one has ever been good with Ryan. He's had a shitty life.
Catherine is not at all likeable this series. She used to be so funny.

excelledyourself · 29/01/2023 22:22

I really didn't like Catherine tonight.

They've all played a part in messing with Ryan's head. She's not blameless in any of it. I think she loves him, but it also feels like the resentment is always there, under the surface. And if he never really felt it before, he'll see it looking back now.

70sShmeventies · 29/01/2023 22:23

Gah, gutted that TLR was the only one to tell Ryan that he loved him in this episode. I hope he sees actions speak louder than words. I think the tirade from Ann, despite its brutality, has made him realise how much Catherine loves him and I think, ultimately, he will come through.

James Norton was amazing. The way he flipped between excited kid to deadly psychopath - wow. The guileless way he said he’d never been abroad and then the evil rage when Darius laughed was quite something. That whole chat with Ryan, he even had me believing and sympathising with him.

excelledyourself · 29/01/2023 22:23

Makes me wonder if he could have been better off put up for adoption.
