I actually turned it off when I saw them on the sofa and the way he was touching her, so not sure what happened before the credits rolled, it got very uncomfortable watching that, it's gone to far now for a soap.

Stephen used to be a decent character. Jacob used to be a wrong'un. So easy for the writers to just flip their personalities. I didn't get to see last night's episode (rape?!) with Amy and Aaron so unlike people who have parties and clubs/ cinema or theatre this evening I look for forward to an hour's Corrie. 😀 Rock and roll life for me this weekend!

It's been done to death on TV, but I guess you're right. Corrie is a bit 'try hard', trying to fit loads of contentious issues in at once (refugees, spiking, rape, stalking, surrogacy, assault, etc etc) without necessarily doing them all justice.

My viewings of Corrie have dropped off a cliff recently. I agree with pp that there are far too many ishoos being handled too superficially, and too many dramas around drucks, and too many inexplicably rapid personality changes that seem to be there purely to dig an inexperienced writer out of a plot hole.

Any bets on what's next?

Jacobs dad is in prison for the drug bust but did he not beat up Jacob before he left? I thought he left him for dead but this may have totally been my imagination.
