James Norton is on the Today programme on Radio 4 this morning if anyone needs a fix 😉

Several endings recorded?

I don’t like the thought of that. I’d prefer to know we’re getting a finale SW has plotted and planned over years - that will be emotionally, philosophically, and narratively logical, cathartic and satisfying. How can that be if it’s left to random choice and dependent on loose lips on Twitter?

#Annoyednow.

All they mean is that several different ending have been recorded so no one knows which is the real one and can’t spoil it.

Tbh I am still Amazed that Ryan wanted to see his dad after being doused in petrol and threatening to burn him and his granny in s1

This has always amazed me too ^^

And how the heck did Ryan get to court in time? Surely it takes way longer?

Also... why no handcuffs on TLR in court?

UnicorseTime · 24/01/2023 06:34

Following again.

Can believe we always used to wait a week between programmes in ye olden days

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/01/2023 07:16

But isn't it such emotional pleasure @UnicorseTime

To have to wait , saviour each delicious episode

To wait in anticipation

To ponder that hour all week

Rather then just binge 😂😂😂😂 and all done in 4/6/8hrs depending in the amount of episodes

Tho seems in all the threads I do blondes is the only one who doesn't binge

Who enjoys the wait 😛😛😛

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/01/2023 07:18

@Emotionalsupportviper and others will be rocking on their little chairs till Sunday at 9pm

That's another 5.5days of agony

But means we can decipher each and every minute over and over again

LadyEloise1 · 24/01/2023 07:32

@Comewithmefriday
As Catherine left the cafe after that great scene with Clare where she confronts her for bringing Ryan to visit TLR, she hallucinates and we saw a quite distant "view" of Becky.

Poke · 24/01/2023 07:33

I don’t have a lot to contribute but I think Poppy definitely noticed something. Children are so observant and often notice random things. I thought maybe a spot of blood on the wall or a moved pair of shoes/handbag.

Really enjoying this thread/ discussion.

foxlover47 · 24/01/2023 07:36

Ah yes in the trailer Ryan is speaking to Anne about Tommy , they haven't spoke yet have they ?

foxlover47 · 24/01/2023 07:38

Surely although we can't stand neckbeard , Phizer can't get away with what he's done to Jo can he ?

Aloneonprecipice · 24/01/2023 07:40

Does anyone know is Catherine's neighbour, that old woman from season 2, is going to make an appearance. I loved her scenes. Her dialogues were very witty.

HRTQueen · 24/01/2023 07:46

I loved the little old lady too she was sharpe and funny didn’t she have to move away ?

I think Poppy noticed something in the hallway she stares at something on the wall

JemimaPyjamas · 24/01/2023 07:49

@Ladybug14 I like in Hebden Bridge. Ryan would have easily got to Leeds in time, it’s an hour or just under depending on trains.

Billi80 · 23/01/2023 23:00

They’re not Russian, they’re Balkan. Their names sound Croatian but they could be from anywhere in former Yugoslavia. They don’t have ‘babuskas’ in that part of the world.

I stand corrected.

I will stick to the word "grandmother" in future so that do not offend any sensitive Central/ East European sensibilities. 😄

However my premise that they could have been brought up in a household with grandparents who spoke a non-English language is a valid one.

AntonDuPig · 24/01/2023 07:56

I loved Julie Cowgill from S1.
She was such a fantastic character. I’d have a night out with her any time!

JaneJeffer · 23/01/2023 23:04

They should air that @middleager I reckon the viewing figures would be massive!

<resolves to send Mr Viper to the pub if this is ever aired>

Netaporter · 24/01/2023 05:28

@Comewithmefriday no different actor.

Haven’t listened to the Obsessed podcast this week, but the actor who plays Faisal has apparently revealed that several endings have been recorded in case of leaks 😉

IN THAT CASE I WANT TO WATCH THEM ALL!

storminabuttercup · 24/01/2023 08:01

I don't think poppy saw anything she was just concentrating on listening. Again not SW style for the characters to know something we don't.

I have worn deep grooves in the flooring, and the cats dare not come near my frantically creaking rockers.

When it's finished (and how I dread the day - I want it to go on for EVAH!) I'm going to binge watch the whole thing from beginning to end.

Emotionalsupportviper · 24/01/2023 08:10

foxlover47 · 24/01/2023 07:38

Surely although we can't stand neckbeard , Phizer can't get away with what he's done to Jo can he ?

I think he'll get his comeuppance one way or another.

I wonder though if this taste of power has made him go the same way as that creepy little accountant in S1 - where he was glorying in Nev's pain at the rape and kidnap of his daughter. Perhaps he thinks this will show his wife that he's not a bloke to be pushed around . . .

Supersimkin2 · 24/01/2023 08:28

I reckon Catherine makes it to the Himalayas only to be faced by TLR on Everest.

I don't like the idea of Faisal getting away with it but I also don't like the idea of those girls being brought up by their dad.

It would sort of be a great revenge for Joanna though that he made her life a misery for years & he then spends many years in prison & has nothing left when he gets out.

Faisal perhaps loses everything also due to the drugs?

Yes and while it was distressing I thought it was done more appropriately than the jump scare, horror film style flashbacks from series 1.

Terse exchange, ending in them both tumbling over the precipice, locked in an eternal embrace?

(At least until the surprise 4th season!)

Yes definitely just used to watching, waiting in dooorwaves for it to all kick off.

I thought Joanna's dad was excellent at demonstrating his utter loathing for his son in law hardly by saying a word. Just his pained facial expressions said it all.
