Starts today 16/1 at 5pm channel4.

New age range this year which makes a lot of sense.

Hope it's good, I do like Liam and Rav as judges.

Well done to all of them.

martinisforeveryone · 03/02/2023 18:16

Aaaw they must've been so nervous, but they all did really well. I did think Mya may just have sneaked up and definitely thought it'd slipped from Thomas's grasp right at the end with a couple of errors in his final bake.

Congratulations to them all, their families will be very proud. It looked like they had a good party afterwards as well. I bet Amelia's on cloud nine again now it's aired.

LaBelleSauvage123 · 03/02/2023 20:30

Who was the woman they dedicated the programme to at the end?

Halsall · 03/02/2023 20:48

She was one of the chaperones I think @LaBelleSauvage123. Her name came past in the credits.

Absolutely loved this series of JBO! The kids were great especially Immy and Harrison - what characters! Did anyone see that applications are open for series 9? It was posted on my local Facebook group. Will definitely have to get my little ones to apply, they love baking - not so much the clear up unfortunately😅

Just a heads up that Junior Bake Off 2024 started today at 5pm, 16 contestants, Im not sure how many episodes but the first one today was lovely!

Ellmau · 03/01/2024 18:38

Missed it due to nightmare travel day yesterday. Does anyone know when this ep will be on 47?

Halsall · 03/01/2024 18:46

Saturday at 1pm for the first episode @Ellmau

I missed it too but caught up on All4. Great fun - the kids are hilarious and so full of confidence.

Ellmau · 03/01/2024 18:51

Thanks @Halsall !

jay55 · 03/01/2024 19:04

One of the girls is such a character!

LaBelleSauvage123 · 03/01/2024 22:41

I like the lad who did the game console and the one who won today. Not so keen on Harry Hill - thought some of his comments today were a bit inappropriate, eg joking with the boy who helped at the care home that he was after their money!

Umanresources · 03/01/2024 23:26

We are a day behind, so only saw the first one today. Congratulations to Rav on her pregnancy, she looks blooming. It’s a breath of fresh air and we loved it when the cake fell on the floor and was just picked up and slightly dusted off. It looked OK when it was decorated 😂

We enjoy Harry Hill as well. I do hope he doesn’t have any more work related injuries this time!

Jimmyspiano · 04/01/2024 15:14

We love Isaac and Ethan. Little Esme is so chatty and funny. I was worried that seeing and hearing from her so much might mean she would leave early.

jay55 · 04/01/2024 16:53

The technicals have been a bit out there, in that the kids would have no clue what was expected. But they were also so fun, and put them on a level playing field.
Enjoyed the first two episodes so much, brightening up January.

I’m always a bit in awe of these kids though. Not only are they all really good bakers but they are also brilliant at other things like grade 8 cello or playing county cricket or something. How do they find the time to become good at so many things?!

Umanresources · 05/01/2024 19:08

My daughter and I laugh every time when Harry says, “Nice to see ‘em, it’s Rav and Liam!” It just tickles us.

I love the way the children are always so confident about their bakes, they don’t seem to suffer from self-esteem problems thank goodness 😂

LaBelleSauvage123 · 05/01/2024 23:51

Esme and Rudi are very sweet together. She’s surviving by the skin of her teeth though. She makes me laugh so much - she kind of bashes everything together and doesn’t seem to mind that it looks really messy.

Halsall · 06/01/2024 08:50

I’ve said it on previous threads and I’ll say it again - when I was 9/10/11 (admittedly back in the Dark Ages) I was a quivering ball of anxiety and shyness and would never in a million years have been able to do this, let alone be capable of looking at my collapsing bake and shrugging with an airy 'it'll be fine'.

I'm in awe of how confident and resilient these kids are, truly. Good for them all.

LaBelleSauvage123 · 06/01/2024 11:52

Yes I agree. Yesterday’s ‘loser’ was a case in point ( not saying name in case people are behind).

Umanresources · 11/01/2024 20:06

We are loving the second week's contestants with their profiterole models. Harry Hill just has us laughing hysterically. I'm enjoying this so much.

allaboardtheskytrain · 11/01/2024 21:47

I don't like to criticise kids but some of them look like they've never baked in their lives.

They all seem like lovely characters though. I like the way they help each other out when the going gets tough.

I thought the same thing. We were imagining parents encouraging them, you can do anything. You’re brilliant!

LaBelleSauvage123 · 12/01/2024 09:48

I love Tilly and Ilham - such creative, quirky girls!

tennissquare · 12/01/2024 17:58

I can't wait for finals week next week, they are such characters!
