Starts today 16/1 at 5pm channel4.

New age range this year which makes a lot of sense.

Hope it's good, I do like Liam and Rav as judges.

I think they narrowed the age range a few years ago. As there is a huge difference between a 9 and a 16 year old.

LaBelleSauvage123 · 07/01/2026 08:41

What a lovely and interesting lad Kitto is.

murasaki · 07/01/2026 11:48

I thought Miko might nick it yesterday, but Rav's praise for Kitto's biscuit, which did look great, clearly swung it. It was tight though. He does seem lovely. Zacharias was bloody lucky, we both thought he was a goner.

DH and I love watching this, it’s better than the grown-up version by far! I thought they might have changed the age-range to make it a bit narrower but actually I see they do go from 9 to 14 this time - we haven’t met the youngest one yet. Aiyla is 14 so she’s one of the eldest - she’s just very tall. There’s another competitor called Aiyla too (and the same spelling) but she's a bit younger at 11.

My big, big gripe is the tall fridges with the freezer compartment at the top so the smaller children really struggle to use it (and the inevitable disasters ensue).

Agree with the fridges, i, don't know why there isn't a step for the smaller ones. Every year there's a dropping incident.

Cole cracks me up, he's a permanently-disgusted 45-year-old in a ten year old's body 😂

I do wish he would stop tasting stuff on his fingers though! Use a spoon Cole. Felt a bit sorry for him today, his zip wire cake design was great, it’s not something that comes naturally to him and he had a chance at SB, but Mika pipped him ( because her design was frankly amazing) . Oh and Harry, when someone explains that they speak three languages fluently the response isn’t

“ Well I can speak Brummie mumble mumble mumble”

jay55 · 12/01/2026 23:58

As usual find it harder to like the second lot after getting used to the first.
Loved the lamb lammingtons. All the technicals have been such fun this series.

I was just thinking the same about the second weekers.

Toddlerteaplease · 13/01/2026 14:20

@viqueshe's very funny. I think his strong accent makes it funnier.

Toddlerteaplease · 13/01/2026 14:21

I feel the same about the second seekers as well. But usually get over it by finals week!

LaBelleSauvage123 · 13/01/2026 16:11

I really like Humphrey. And the lively red haired Irish girl. Notice Harry spending a lot of time with her as she actually responds to him!

She’s hilarious. And so excitable!

LaBelleSauvage123 · 13/01/2026 16:27

Yes very much so. But also very kind - helping out the girl who had a disaster in the technical and reassuring her.

AlwaysRightISwear · 13/01/2026 19:19

Starting to get a bit more personality now.

Toddlerteaplease · 16/01/2026 17:12

Sad that Lyla left. She was great. But this Penelope is now rooting for Penelope.

I was sad about Lyla too. She and Harry were a right pair together

I love penelope, she has a dark side

AlwaysRightISwear · 16/01/2026 19:56

Lyla had the most personality of the second weekers but I did love Penelope's suffragette religeuses today.

Toddlerteaplease · 16/01/2026 20:17

Bit surprised a nine year old would know quite som much about the suffragettes. Do they teach that at primary school?

AlwaysRightISwear · 16/01/2026 20:56

Probably got it from her mum.

In her VT she was seen looking at a Emmeline Pankhurst blue plaque with her mum.

Lyla was just so lovely - absolutely genuine. I loved her comment at the very end about her running out of clean shorts.

LaBelleSauvage123 · 17/01/2026 07:06

Oh gosh, Ethan’s face when he was told he was leaving.

Umanresources · 17/01/2026 17:20

I’m just catching up with yesterday’s episode and I wish someone had told Aiyla to tie her hair back. It’s really annoying when her hair keeps dangling in the food. I wouldn’t be happy finding a hair in my food.

im still enjoying Harry Hill though, and his terrible jokes. Just listening to him waffle about Linda Bellingham and the bistro gravy, making me laugh at the quizzical expressions on the bakers.

Halsall · 21/01/2026 11:08

I love Harry Hill. Some people find him totally unfunny but DH and I are in stitches the whole time. Love the way he’s so straight-faced in his little dialogues with the kids.

(Agree about the hair tying-back…)
