Sky news reporting tonight that Matt Lucas says he doesn't have time for GBBO anymore, which IMO means he's been asked to leave as he completely unfunny and utterly annoying. I cannot bear his puerile "antics" on GBBO and am at a loss why he was ever appointed or indeed why he has a reputation for being amusing. He has been the worst part of the show for the last three years. I wonder who they will get in. Really needs to be female to balance it up.

I'm baffled as to why she was asked to co host the baftas. She didn't add anything at all it was embarrassing.

Yes but interestingly when Ant and Dec pulled a prank on their show she displayed a completely different personality. Sullen, grumpy. No 'babes', no constant bellowing and shrieking laughter. It all seems so fake.

Matt Lucas is usually funny but it felt like he'd been given an unfunny script on Bake Off which didn't work. I love Alison Hammond so I'm really pleased she's taking over.

She was knackered and scared that the hotel she was staying in was haunted. I might not believe in ghosts but some people do. She doesn't have to roar with laughter at all times, even when she's knackered and frightened.

See this is why I like the Aussie one. The female presenters are not LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME, they do the lame joke bit at the beginning and then that's it. The judges are fair but kind, and don't think they're the stars of the show.

It's like GBBO when it was on BBC.

I would hope she would tone it down a bit for GBBO as it's about the contestants not her. I think it's a good choice though.

The BAFTA stuff wasn't her fault. It was an awful format. She was actually good when she was on stage with Richard E (who was woeful) the BAFTA scriptwriters are shit.

Agree with this. Good, high quality baking which we can aspire to and not the ridiculous efforts to produce the almost impossible. As for the attempts to produce humorous situations divorced from the proceedings. ……well we used to really like this show but it lost its appeal when Mary Berry went.

She looked grumpy even at the checking in bit, before any alleged haunting became apparent. Checking into a hotel is hardly exhausting stuff is it. Asking if there was a lift for one floor! Then getting her driver to carry her bags 🙄.

She seems so far up her own arse. The babs and shrieking thing will surely make gbbo viewers leave in droves.

The people GBBO employ as presenters are very popular. They wouldn't use them otherwise. Obviously not everyone is going to like the presenters, but AH is extremely popular and will bring viewers who didn't previously watch GBBO.
I didn't find Mel and Sue funny but I guess some people liked them. I loved Sandi and Noel

My dh said the same. Said "oh are we getting a glimpse of the real her".

The worst thing is we can't even fast forward on the GBBO because you'll still hear her in the background with the piercing laugh and shouting, the presenters are visible a lot, talking to the bakers, we'll end up missing half the show and part of the good bits is the interactions with the bakers and listening to her making herself centre of attention and thinking she's funny will make me want to rip my head off!!

Well this Sunday stand up to Cancer matt and noel are presenting, this will be my last chance to enjoy my favourite programme.

All the presenters and judges (bar one possibly) have been sacked/left the Australian Bake Off. Rachel Khoo is one of the new judges. She was a personality free zone the year she judged on Great British Menu. I am not happy.
