I wish they weren't doing that tune. I love G&G's Charleston too, and frequently rewatch. Georgia had the biggest grin on her face the whole way through, it makes me so happy. I really don't see how M&C can live up to it, they don't have the same spark.

BeaLola · 28/11/2022 19:20

I was just pondering what the rules are going forward re illness eg are they staying the same so if hypothetically Helen was unwell this weekend does she just go straight through to the semi - final ?

Also if they have less days to practise will Kym get a new dance or be able to do a couples choice ?

Lentilweaver · 28/11/2022 19:50

Gio and Georgia's Charleston to Hot Honey Rag was one of my faves of all time. There is no way they can live up to it!

RachelGreeneGreep · 29/11/2022 00:04

Phew, someone else did notice this comment from Shirley, apart from me.

Ariadne:
'Then Shirley mostly just complimented Gorka’s butt.'

Sodonewiththisshit · 29/11/2022 10:07

Yeah we noticed that. Yuck. Get rid if her, the old lech. We need a new thread.

If its Samba, it'll be Lion King 😂

Didn't Claudia Fragapane do a great samba to the Lion King?

Salsa:) But yes, it was great.

Suffrajitsu · 29/11/2022 10:25

Let's gird our loins for insane lighting, the large-scale slaughter of theatre music and Shirley not going below 9 while Motsi clambers all over the table salivating.

This is so depressingly bound to happen that it just shows they need a rethink. like musicals week, but I think they should have it earlier in the series instead of movie week.

I'm glad to have some Fosse but I do agree that anyone with any sense would leave Hot Honey Rag alone after the brilliant version Giovanni and Georgia did.

Suffrajitsu · 29/11/2022 10:27

I want a results show with Molly and Fleur in the dance-off. It seems almost inevitable that one will be there every week, which makes it feel unfair that the result is virtually a foregone conclusion every time.

KimberleyClark · 29/11/2022 10:31

Seriously thinking of giving the final a miss and doing something else, it just seems a bit flat this year for some reason. There is no one I’m hugely invested in, nor anyone I particularly don’t want to win.

DameHelena · 29/11/2022 11:02

I LIKED Hamza! I do agree about the centre-forward leg moves, but I thought they had a great connection. And for a non-performer he 'gets' the spirit of each dance so well. Shirley was a bit didactic, as she tends to be, but I get that what she was saying was Jowita's foot action could be as light and free as it was because of his partnering skills.

I quite liked Will's dance. I still think he looks basically like a dad dancing at a village hall do, but I enjoyed the unusual styling and moves.
Fleur looked nervous and I wanted her to breathe, like Shirley and Motsi said. She and Vito are a lovely partnership.
I quite enjoyed Molly's tango and for once I thought it did have passion and connection.
Helen wasn't very good and was overmarked. She's too prissy for the Latin.
Ellie was clearly the weakest dancer and the jive didn't suit her. But I still enjoyed it; her characterisation was fab and I just love their partnership.

Molly and Carlos I thought were also very gracious when it was announced that it would be Ellie and not Molly in the DO. Fist-pumping Helen might take note. Agree with this. Helen is not quite what she wants people to think she is.

Ellie and Johannes made me sob when they said their goodbyes. They obviously adore each other. And Ellie is clearly loved by the other slebs and the pros too.

Samcro · 29/11/2022 11:07

i really liked Wills dance.
Mollys was ruined by the dreadful music and inane clapping.

What's the Fosse number?

New thread here

Kym's return will be interesting. She will have just recovered and less time to learn a new dance. I wonder whether having a week off will have cost her some votes?

Looking forward to finding out who is doing what this week.

+1 to all of this.

I couldn't believe I had tears in my eyes when Ellie and JoJo spoke at the end. They were a great pairing, and I loved the fact that Ellie was proud of all she had achieved over the ten weeks.

She must have stood on Vicky Gill's corns or something because she was given so many crap outfits but she managed to rise above them and still look fab-u-lous. Loved the dig 'even some of the judges' 🤣

It was her time to go but she and JoJo will be missed.

Inkanta · 29/11/2022 11:29

Shirley can't be good for long!

RachelGreeneGreep · 29/11/2022 11:31

SolInvictus · 28/11/2022 13:11

Caught up with the results and Ellie made me cry too.
Genuine and truly lovely.
Molly and Carlos I thought were also very gracious when it was announced that it would be Ellie and not Molly in the DO. Fist-pumping Helen might take note.
Fleur being comforted by both Johannes and Ellie stuck in my cold hard craw.
Oh god. Musicals. (and I love a bellowing man in a frilly shirt standing with his legs apart as much as the next woman) but I hate SCD themed weeks. Let's gird our loins for insane lighting, the large-scale slaughter of theatre music and Shirley not going below 9 while Motsi clambers all over the table salivating.

Aye. + here too.

iklboo · 28/11/2022 18:22

@cordelia16 - bugger. So they did. The Lion Sleeps Tonight was in The Lion King. Has someone done that before (I lose track).

I'm not sure... but a quick google search doesn't come up with anything. So likely not.

ImJustMadAboutSaffron · 29/11/2022 14:16

@RachelGreeneGreep Fleur being comforted by both Johannes and Ellie stuck in my cold hard craw.

Why? Something I've missed?

Lentilweaver · 29/11/2022 15:20

New songs out. Hamza is dancing samba to "He lives in You" from the Lion King.
www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/strictlycomedancing/entries/7d1633e0-dee1-47cc-8aea-819d78ce651d

I think samba will be tricky to master in a week but I also think Hamza is bullet proof by now. I think Kym and Molly might be in the DO. Fleur should do ok with a quickstep; she is quick!

Lentilweaver · 29/11/2022 15:23

And also a nod to Irene Cara with Graz and Kym cha cha-ing to Fame. I think that might be a bit of a car crash.

Sunbird24 · 29/11/2022 15:33

Oh we called it with Lion King for Hamza! Too predictable, I’d have liked a surprise

dementedma · 29/11/2022 16:16

I thought Hamza had already done a Samba? Where he bench pressed Jowita?

DameHelena · 29/11/2022 16:17
