Dh keeps getting freebie tickets to Manchester Utd matches. Before Christmas it included a fancy dinner and a bunch of freebies. I let DD1 go. I can't stand football, and she appreciated the steak.

I got the ringtones one, and I suspected it was characters in The Crown but I haven’t watched it so didn’t know it was PMs.

It wasn't my best night on Only Connect- but I did get the name change one Dixie Chicks/Lady Antebellum- I got a couple on the connecting wall. People in my house were distracting me last night
The music ones annoyed me -because they kept skipping it before we heard enough of them!

I did get a Pointless answer earlier on the final tennis related question (men's quarter finalists at Wimbledon 1996- MaliVai Washington ).

It has been odd waking up up in the middle of the night an not having tennis scores to look at. At least it gave me something to do.

Just had an email to say that I’ve been successful in the Wimbledon ballot - it’s for centre court for the women’s semis and mixed doubles final (the last Thursday)

The tickets are £200 each - I’m not that fussed about women’s tennis really so I’m not sure what to do (I wanted to have a chance of seeing Rafa!)

Depending* *on who the women are, I could take it or leave it but mixed doubles is always fun! Still seems weird (and slightly insulting) that the final is now played on a Thursday
You could always wander round the outside courts to look for the veterans matches, instead of the women

I know kazza - I haven’t been to Wimbledon for a few years and it is lovely to wander round and soak up the atmosphere, have a look at the outside courts (and drink Pimms!)

If it was the men’s semis I would definitely accept the tickets (although I’m not sure if Rafa would get that far!)

I’ve got a few weeks to decide - DH says that I’m being grumpy and as a tennis fan I should be excited (maybe he’s right!)

Fizzy it's a bit of a dilemma really isn't it? The trouble with the women's draw, is it is so easy to end up with a match that is over in 2 really quick sets. There were some good women's matches last year- equally there were some disappointing ones- and I know it's not the done thing to say- but I can't get too enthused by it.

I haven't been for nearly 30 years- so would probably go for the atmosphere as much as anything- but can understand the wobble. The doubles could be good though. I quite like the women's doubles, actually.

I was surprised to when Rafa played Wimbledon last year, really, (after the foot issues at RG) and he did so so well. It almost ended up being too much- he's barely played since - and not
that well.

I think he will give his all to the clay season- and Wimbledon might not happen this year. I hope I'm wrong though.

Shock news - no one wants to watch Djok! It is a bit worrying for networks showing the tennis though. Djok will be gutted - he thinks the Australians love him!

I’m also not sure if the Netflix programme will attract new fans in the same way that the Formula 1 programme did - the tennis one was fairly niche and maybe only interesting to people who already followed tennis

Thanks Jane - I think I am going to accept the tickets - I’ve not been to Wimbledon for a while so it will be a nice experience and I’ll hopefully get to see some good tennis - Iga would be good - I’d also like to see Ons and Coco Gauff and maybe Emma if she gets that far
