I am nor really sure how today will go, in the women's semi's. I can't say I'm very enthusiastic about the women's draw- I am happy Rybakina is doing well- it's psychological boost after losing in the first round at the US open after winning Wimbledon.
Would be crazy for Vika to win after all this time. Sabalenka's runs were de-railed by the Belarussian bans last year. I don't know huge amounts about Linette.

But in women's doubles news, (which I find much more interesting, but haven't seen any yet, sadly) - I'm really happy to see that Gauff and Pegula are in the semi of that and Barbora Krejčíková and Katerina Sinakova. I think doubles has been great for Gauff- pick her up after any disappoint in singles- and gives her loads of experience. She is now the number 1 doubles player- which is a great achievement. I love Barbora. She is a great doubles player- and is very underrated.
Another final for both pairs would be brilliant.

Yep, I'm not keen on cutting men's doubles down to 3 sets. It's a slippery slope to shite! But apparently, no one wants to watch 5 set matches anymore, not that anyone has ever asked for my opinion! And players such as Dick certainly don't want to play them. (I just don't want to watch him full stop. Even the warm up would be too long!)

Came along to say how little surprised I was at the news of Cock's father seemingly being pro-Putin.

I was score watching earlier, and Stef seemed to be cruising to a relatively easy win- then Karen got quite a hard won 3rd set, but Stef took the match.

I'm out for coffee with morning will an old work colleague I bumped into before Christmas and haven't seen for years, so might not see the end of the Djok match- or the start. I've a feeling it will be over before it starts. I'm not much of a Tommy Paul fan, but I will be his biggest supporter today.

I had the match on in the back ground- expected a set to go by the wayside after the rant- and suddenly it was 5-5.
