I see you've chosen the iffy ones Jane Grin
Yes, those trousers top right. Wtf Hmm

Well I can post the others if you like (which are no better) Grin

The jacket in the first picture! Looks like he’s wearing a Turkish carpet.

JaneJeffer · 07/02/2023 21:10

It's really annoying me trying to think of the singer!

Raahh · 07/02/2023 21:16

There's a bit of Craig McLachlan look about Casper- but then I think he looks like someone else as well.

or the one in A-ha that isn't Morten or Paul.

Magne?

it's a very 80s leather /denim look. Grin. Domi must be jealous.

kazzaD66 · 07/02/2023 21:29

It's certainly more Magne than the other two. Did you see that film about A-Ha last year? Quite brutal, especially given they made it themselves.

magimedi · 07/02/2023 21:35

kazzaD66 · 07/02/2023 20:27

Could be a number of singers Jane
A* *lot of them were interchangeable in the 80's. Still the best decade for music though Wink

NO! NO!NO! 70's & late 60's rule!!

JaneJeffer · 07/02/2023 21:42

Evening magi Grin

JaneJeffer · 07/02/2023 21:50

This is the guy I was thinking of from Cutting Crew. I had to google 80's one hit wonders. I hate that song!

Oh, I like that song Jane Grin
I served him when I worked as a Saturday girl in Boots, on the No7 counter. Probably about 1983/84/85?? He bought some makeup. He was very polite.

Grin I love the way these threads go sometimes.

I ended up with 'Died in your arms...' stuck on a loop in my head in the early hours of the morning. Which morphed into Breathe 'Hands to Heaven' about an hour agoGrin (Nothing alike, not sure why).

kazza that's a claim to fame. Grin During my time at the record shop/airport- I served a lot of 'famous' ish people- from half the Corrie cast, to David Beckham., - quite a few footballers (most of them I didn't recogniseGrin). One of my bosses was very excited by Joey Elliot from Def Leppard. Neil Sedaka in a hair piece very early one morning, was funny.

They were usually on their way to interviews for things like 'This Morning'.

kazzaD66 · 08/02/2023 08:39

Yep Raahh I* *had Died in your Arms Tonight in my head aswell last night. And now it's back there this morning!

I also served the Olympic swimmer Sharron Davies, who lived locally at that time. She wasn't polite. In fact, she was very rude and clearly thought a lot of herself!

Nothing on a par to your claims to fame, although I did stay in the same hotel as the Man Utd team 20 odd years ago, Alex Ferguson is quite small Grin
And Gordon Ramsay apologised for nearly knocking me over in a hotel corridor Grin

Fizzywinegum · 08/02/2023 09:04

Grin I’m obviously not moving in the right circles!

magimedi · 08/02/2023 09:07

I served Jennifer Saunders - one of the rudest customers I've ever had!

Raahh · 08/02/2023 09:31

Grin kazza inthe 90s, the Man Utd team used to come through the shop quite a bit. (I famously told Beckham that Boots sold cheaper batteries- was never allowed to live that one downGrin).

We had a very young work experience girl who nearly fainted on the spot when Ryan Giggs walked in.

I was always disappointed when the ones you think are going to be nice, turned out quite rude. (Corrie actors usually). One of the nicest customers we had was Bill Beaumont -he would have been filming QoS at the time, I expect.

Morrissey was very quiet- and bought 'Never Mind the Bollocks' on cassette. Grin

kazzaD66 · 08/02/2023 10:43

Used to love Bill and Emlyn on QoS

Raahh · 08/02/2023 10:46

kazza I loved Emlyn- the Emlyn /Bill years were vintage QoS. I have watched it about twice since Sue left- which twice too many- and enough to show me they've ruined the show, really, which is sad. Sad

kazzaD66 · 08/02/2023 12:59

I used to like Ally McCoist and the twinkle in his eye Wink John Parrott was fine aswell. I also think Matt and Tuffers were good together, with Sue the three of them were great. I certainly haven't watched the new iteration and have no intention of doing so. You don't even need to be a sportsperson to go on it these days!!

Raahh · 08/02/2023 13:38

kazza that does seem to be the direction it's taken, more general entertainment, and tying in with other shows- than sticking with the old 'formula'. Anton Du Beke featured in an episode I 'watched'. I like Anton- he did better than some of the sports stars- but I'm not sure why he was there (it was probably a Strictly tie in- and I guess if ice dancing counts as sport, why not ballroom?Grin).

It's a shame- I'm not really very 'sporty' but I used to love watching it.

Sometimes, I think shows should be allowed to fade away. I'm not sure the audience is there anymore.

magimedi · 12/02/2023 22:05

Waves valiantly - WTF have you all gone?

JaneJeffer · 12/02/2023 22:09

Hello magi 👋 we need a new thread

Hello magi - hope all is well with you

I think Raahh and Jane were otherwise engaged on the Brits thread last night - I was watching but didn’t have the energy to post - I do like Wet leg though Grin

I don’t think that much tennis has been happening in the last few weeks? Is Indian Wells due to start soon - I seem to have lost track of the tennis

There were some nice pictures of Felix visiting the Rafa museum - maybe this year I’ll finally get to visit (and hopefully see Rafa and Felix Grin)
