So lotus is back

s1 was good. About holiday makers in a posh hotel and one died but various other things

s2 is new cast and a new secret apart from jennifer Coolidge who returns as Tanya along with her lover now hubby

This season, Coolidge's hysterical and hyper-sensitive Tanya McQuoid will be joined by Jon Gries, who reprises his season one role of Tanya's lover turned new husband Greg, and Haley Lu Richardson (The Edge of Seventeen) who plays Portia, her assistant. Oscar-winner F. Murray Abraham (Amadeus), Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos), and Adam DiMarco (The Order) portray Bert, Dominic, and Albie, respectively, three generations of men from the Di Grasso family with three very different approaches to the opposite sex on a trip to Sicily to visit their ancestral home.

Also checking in are two polar opposite couples on vacation together: the prickly, newly-rich, and socially aware Harper and Ethan, played by Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation) and Will Sharpe (Landscapers), and the carefree, news-averse, lovey-dovey couple Cameron and Daphne, played by Theo James (The Time Traveler's Wife) and Meghann Fahy (The Bold Type). The separate groups are intertwined when two local girls Mia (Beatrice Granno) and Lucia (Simona Tabasco) find their way into the White Lotus, much to the chagrin of Valentina (Sabrina Impaciatorre), the often flustered manager of the hotel.

Bad accent guy was brilliant at being annoying. I did cringe as it was a marvellous take on Brits abroad (singing the West Ham football song down a beautiful alley!).

Didn't Ethan say every time he found a girl that Cameron fucked her? He does seem on the verge of an explosion.

Yes I think poor Albie is being set up. And his dad has a suspicion too but doesn't want to really be involved!

i think Albie is going to kill the “pimp” in an extortion gone wrong and Lucia will panic and dump the body in the sea. He will be taken back to America without facing consequences which will torture him, especially when he finds out she set him up.

mia already said she’s going to fuck whoever she needs to to get her music career launched and Valentina is the big boss there, hence the attentions.

daphne looks ready to pop and murder Cameron at any moment so wouldn’t be surprised if she does and her talking to the women at the beach was her giving herself an alibi.

tanya is a survivor. Though it’s some kind of blackmail as that guy was a prostitute for sure. If they divorce because she cheated her husband probably gets something in the prenup. Or they will convince her to do a madam butterfly and he inherits. Maybe this is the moment she finds her spine?

Greg must be on the long con. I couldn’t work out why he was so annoyed that Tanya had brought Portia along on the holiday and why Portia had to stay out of sight in her room. It’s because Portia would get in the way or act as a witness, hence the need to get her out of the way on parry night. I bet Greg is hiding in an attic somewhere and making creepy noises when the females of the house are trying to get on Mumsnet.

They would assume she would care but from what we have seen of her rather eccentric character, she may just shrug it off. But it was certainly convenient that Greg was away while she was led astray by Quentin’s group. Similarities to the convenient way the ladies were away when Ethan was led astray by Cameron & the girls.

Also, what was the story of the woman on the island and the Mafia - did they kill her? Someone was pushed off the cliffs - I can't remember who.

Maybe Tanya might flip when they confront her and become the dangerous one. That would be a good twist.

Yes it would and she's no fool (just a bit nuts) so could react strongly to someone thinking they could manipulate her like that.

Think she is becoming suspicious of Quentin already based on how she was looking at him, even in her drugged state, when she saw him being charming to that other older lady.

The woman who was pushed off the cliffs to her death was the owner of the house on Isola Bella (the little island off the beach in Taormina), which the Mafia wanted. She wouldn't sell, so they murdered her.

Greg is the cowboy that Quintin was in love with. They’re working together for the money and are invalidating the prenup by having sex as I think there’ll be an infidelity clause. However, I think that Portia will try to save Tanya and instead die.

I think Valentina will kill Mia or Lucia - Mia now has the master key to the hotel.

The old man may also commit suicide.

In ep 1, Valentina was shocked by “bodies” and I think it’s because she only killed / disposed of the body of one person.

Also, I think it’s important to remember the plot is that rich proposer and remain unharmed. I think the main characters will be fine.

fantasia you are right. There have been lots of Godfather nods throughout the series - some blatant like Dom's family and Portia visiting the villa and seeing the car that was used in GF2 to Dom (Michael Imperioli) having a bowl of oranges behind him in his hotel room in episode 5 ( perhaps foreshadowing his death?).

I also noticed that Harper had a dress or top with a print of oranges on it in an earlier episode. Cameron wore an orange polo shirt too I think.
I think we are being fed lots of breadcrumbs or else Red herrings!
Daphne had a snake print shirt/PJ top on in episode 5 - she is definitely a manipulator and IIRC in episode 1 Tanya pushed Greg off her when they were having sex as she kept looking at the ceramic head vase and imagining strange shadowy men and said that Greg looked at her with "snake eyes". Bet there are lots of other things too.

I like watchly weekly but would probably remember more/notice more details if watching in one go. Once the series is finished I might have to watch it again to retro view all "the clues."

I'm much too slow at picking up all the other clues as well, thank goodness I can read them on here 😅
