So lotus is back

s1 was good. About holiday makers in a posh hotel and one died but various other things

quite funny

worth watching s1

there is a thread. Not by me s one

s2 is new cast and a new secret apart from jennifer Coolidge who returns as Tanya along with her lover now hubby

This season, Coolidge's hysterical and hyper-sensitive Tanya McQuoid will be joined by Jon Gries, who reprises his season one role of Tanya's lover turned new husband Greg, and Haley Lu Richardson (The Edge of Seventeen) who plays Portia, her assistant. Oscar-winner F. Murray Abraham (Amadeus), Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos), and Adam DiMarco (The Order) portray Bert, Dominic, and Albie, respectively, three generations of men from the Di Grasso family with three very different approaches to the opposite sex on a trip to Sicily to visit their ancestral home.

Also checking in are two polar opposite couples on vacation together: the prickly, newly-rich, and socially aware Harper and Ethan, played by Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation) and Will Sharpe (Landscapers), and the carefree, news-averse, lovey-dovey couple Cameron and Daphne, played by Theo James (The Time Traveler's Wife) and Meghann Fahy (The Bold Type). The separate groups are intertwined when two local girls Mia (Beatrice Granno) and Lucia (Simona Tabasco) find their way into the White Lotus, much to the chagrin of Valentina (Sabrina Impaciatorre), the often flustered manager of the hotel.

l may have looked up the cast on imdb which tells you how many episodes a character appears in. Gorgeous location. 'It's a penis not a sunset' made me howl!

Also it's on nowtv - not sure if they do a free trial but you can sign up for just a month

I'm enjoying it, took me a while to get in into the first series. But the second series I'm ready for the dark undertones. The setting is beautiful.

Tanya is such a flawed vulnerable woman, but the actress is great, she'll always be Stifler's Mum to me though 😊.

I actually feel like Harper most of the time, don't really fit into normal life, and it's not a superior thing, the opposite in fact!

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/11/2022 00:12

Agree always be stifflers mum 😂

so who has seen e3

its on my planner. Means to watch today but ran out of time

will watch Tom

Finally got round to watching Ep3 on Tuesday. More intriguing revelations.

It’s still hard to fathom who doesn’t make it to the end of the vacation. At the start of Ep1Daphne seems perfectly happy so we have to assume that up to that point none of the ‘bodies’ were anyone she cared much about. Unless … Revenge?

They were very sneaky in constantly making us fear for Ethan’s safety! He seems such an innocent abroad - I really hope he proves smart enough to keep himself safe. Harper also.

Wasn’t sure if we were meant to conclude that Valentina is very lonely or very poor - either way, kindness to animals puts her on the side of the angels.

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/11/2022 23:00

Finally seen e3

i was suprised the perfect marriage couple. That hubby Cameron is unfaithful

snd that daphne thought only once

but obv he has been more unfaithful

glad Ethan said no. Tho he did kiss her

the wives got to be friends which was nice

did the cards tell the truth - is Greg cheating

her assistant has the Patience of a saint

trio dad looked gutted that his lovers were with the other men. Well he did pay them

not sure why he wants to get back with wife is so unfaithful

glad son told him to behave

I have no idea who died, but I'm enjoying the new series. Jennifer Coolidge is brilliant - she steals every scene she's in and is so convincing as the ghastly Tanya. I was pissing myself laughing when she got a bug in her mouth on the back of the moped.

I agree that the local characters aren't good - particularly the prostitutes. Surely the 'Latin sexpot' as a caricature is one that should really be retired?

TottersBlankly · 21/11/2022 16:23

Harper is looking dangerous …

Some post Ep 4 speculation on murder, here:

www.vulture.com/article/the-white-lotus-season-2-dead-body-killer-identity-episode-4-in-the-sandbox.html

It’s all still enjoyable - just feel there’s a mite too much filler - they’re just keeping us waiting for whatever conclusion is coming.

I was kind of expecting that though, like series 1.

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/11/2022 19:52

I thought Portia liked the grandson so not sure why she kissed but prob had sex with bad accent man with nice body

grandad seems to be having a fun holiday

whose condom wrapper did Harper find , her hubby was faithful

tanya doesn’t seem to object seeing a married msn

do we thing Greg is being unfaithful or thst it’s something innocent

OP posts:
SheWoreYellow · 23/11/2022 20:00

I guess it was the other guy’s condom. They were maybe in each other’s rooms at times.

I’m going to guess Greg is setting something nice up for Tanya and not what we expect.

What do you mean about Tanya seeing a married man?

SheWoreYellow · 23/11/2022 20:01

Portia was finding Albie way too safe. She even told him that I think.

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/11/2022 22:35

@SheWoreYellow the man she was talking to who said come to a party on his boat. He then said he was married

Onthecuspofabreakthrough · 23/11/2022 22:37

The gay man?

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/11/2022 00:27

Was he gay

oh

I'm suspicious of Tom Hollander and the Essex man etc - do they want something from Tanya? Money?

I find the Italian characters quite weak but the scenery and out there plot keep me hooked!

maranella · 24/11/2022 09:37

Yeah I think Tom Hollander is a baddie after Tanya's money and his Essex boy 'nephew' is there to distract Portia so she doesn't realise and warn Tanya, who is so self-absorbed that she'll never realise without prompting.

Oh. Good call

Onthecuspofabreakthrough · 24/11/2022 09:59

Maybe even a set up by the husband who went away?

Rollergirl11 · 24/11/2022 10:23

I thought we heard ( and perhaps Tanya did also) Greg on the phone saying “I love you and she doesn’t suspect a thing, completely clueless as always” or something along those lines. So we are deffo meant to think he is having an affair.

I also think that Tom Hollander and his crowd are setting up a long con. He made a beeline for her right from the start.

The condom is deffo from Cameron as he banged the hooker on the sofa where Harper found it.

Does anyone think Portia beers an uncanny resemblance to Florence Pugh?

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/11/2022 23:25

Or it’s his child @Rollergirl11

OP posts:
TottersBlankly · 25/11/2022 06:33

Something made me think Greg was talking to a relative. Perhaps his adult child? Dunno - maybe something protective on his posture or voice during the sneaky phone call.

I wish Harper trusted her husband more! And I wish he’d just told her what actually happened.

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/11/2022 06:48

Yes maybe Greg is doing a huge surprise for her as tbh dissapeering for a 2 days trip in the middle of a romantic getaway doesn’t sound like he is planning to meet his lover

OP posts:
TottersBlankly · 25/11/2022 07:10

Mmm … No - the “She’s clueless, as always …” was not said with any shadow of love or respect for Tanya. It was hostile, surely? Not the phrase you’d use about someone you’re planning a lovely surprise for.

Ulysses · 25/11/2022 07:21

There's no warmth from Greg whatsoever, and those jibes about her weight...
