not sure if s2 carries on or completely new story /characters as the names don’t ring a bell

Christine’s family, oldest son Will (Lloyd Everitt), youngest son Jamie (Aaron Anthony) and daughter Megan (Mali Ann Rees), are trying to get on with their lives after the recent tragic death of their brother Liam.

As they look forward to Megan’s wedding, the family have their lives turned upside down when a stranger, Connor (Jordan Wilks), arrives in town claiming a connection that nobody could have imagined.

As buried secrets come to light, they must consider who they are and grapple with morality and divided loyalty. As their lives spiral out of control, a terrible pact may be all that can save them.

I found it odd when the mum went to see the other wonman whose family Connor had fixated on.

Why would anyone believe him without some proof?

It gets better @diddl - I found the first episode a bit "meh|, but then got totally drawn in. Worth you watching the second episode.

Today I've been watching "The Capture" on BBC. Have no idea if it's been shown or if I'm bingeing ahead, but it's excellent if you are looking for another watch.
It was originally released in 2019, but I missed it the first time.

The lovely and sadly late Paul Ritter is in it.

My thought was that none of the kids are hers & "the pact" will be that they discover this but keep it to themselves.

But she must be the same person as series 1 as the cast has the same actors for Will, Jamie and Meg. And her friend Katie 🤔.

She has just changed career which is why I reckon she has the police guy under her thumb?

Haven't watched it all - it's excellent.

Will, Jamie & Meg weren't in the first series.

It's confusing but the mother in this was a different character in series 1.

If you look on Imdb Rakie Ayola is down for 12 episodes (both series) and all the others for 6-so either S1 or S2

I've just googled The Pact series 1 & come up with the same-but the heading for it is The Pact 2021 ‧ Drama ‧ 2 seasons

It doesn't specify which of the cast are for which season

Mr Google is obviously not my friend then today 🙃
