New 6 part drama. Series 1 was good - thread here

not sure if s2 carries on or completely new story /characters as the names don’t ring a bell

Christine’s family, oldest son Will (Lloyd Everitt), youngest son Jamie (Aaron Anthony) and daughter Megan (Mali Ann Rees), are trying to get on with their lives after the recent tragic death of their brother Liam.

As they look forward to Megan’s wedding, the family have their lives turned upside down when a stranger, Connor (Jordan Wilks), arrives in town claiming a connection that nobody could have imagined.

As buried secrets come to light, they must consider who they are and grapple with morality and divided loyalty. As their lives spiral out of control, a terrible pact may be all that can save them.

I really enjoyed it once I got into it. It really showed the complexity of human emotions and motivations, even though it left a lot of loose ends.

Children who are adopted even as newborns often find it hard to settle even in the most loving families -they instinctively feel that they are "abandoned" or "missing something". Babies know their mothers' voices and the smell of their bodies even in utero, apparently. This could explain how Will was such a troubled man - we have no idea how old he was when she "rescued" him. He could even have been a toddler.

Why was Beth's husband always sneaking off with his phone, that wasn't explained either unless I missed it .

He was talking to Christine's husband.

Thanks , I did miss it !

Tut tut @LadyEloise1

so we know Connor is Harry’s

had to be as so alike to liam

or

is Harry not Connors dad or Liam’s either

hence Christine making him lie about it

and Christine and Harry stole or sold babies and adopted them

and Connor and liam are twins as only 3mths apart in age via the birth date he was given

maybe all their kids aren’t theirs and all stolen /sold

or is that too far fetched

amazed Christine didn’t know he was in prison as she searched for him previously and got onlt hassle with the man who he owes money to

why is older son lying about going to counselling and why is he going there

why was younger son left alone to cry at night and sleeping in pissy sheets

yes dad Harry was gone

but where was mum Christine

qnd why are we seeing Christine’s mum. Do we care she is days a way from dying

hubby is going to get pissed off soon if she keeps going home to mummy

Bloody hell

i got it right

I said all kids weren’t hers , stole them

i didn’t actually expect to be right

that rarely happens !!!

I thought they were twins and that she missed one of them when she found the other - I just assumed the poor little sossidge was hidden under piles of rags and rubbish in a junkie's flat.

Wouldn't Kate have known if she was expecting twins?

I thought that Liam had been dumped on Kate's door step?

Possible Connor was a twin & dumped elsewhere?

Can anyone remember the birthdates?

Didn't Connor say that his wouldn't be quite right?

How do you get birth certificates etc?

G@diddl

yes i did a post about their ages the other week

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/11/2022 11:27
Also as I’m a Saddo lol. I went searching for Liam’s grave

he was born 11 April 1998 - died 25 may 20 but done weird like

11/4/98 and 25/5/20

surely you would put 1998 and 2020

so he died 22yrs and just over a month

Connor 15/7/98

so was 3mths younger than Liam

thats if the birthdate is correct. Conner said it was the one he was given

if he was in care from one he could have been born same day and be twins and thry guessed his age and if small under aged him

tho obv if in care from day 1 a newborn bsby isn’t the same as a 3mth baby

I have been overthinking this lots 😂😂😂😂😂

I suppose using the same actor was the clue that they probably were twins😊

I fecked up when recording again.
But I read the synopsis and reading all your posts on here too so I don't feel so bad. I'm half glad I didn't see it as I just found it a difficult watch.
What happened to the other social worker who colluded with Christine ?
Did Christine kill her ?
How did the children react to finding out they were all stolen adopted and not related.
Why was the other sw like a dog with a bone re Christine and her missing husband and Conor ?
What happened the eldest son ?
Was he convicted ?
He aided and abetted.
What happened the client and baby Liam ?
And no I still don't have BBCiplayer. Sad

timetogetlost · 21/12/2022 17:44

I just think it's unusual to call your boys Will and Liam.

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/12/2022 20:11

Why @timetogetlost

OP posts:
timetogetlost · 22/12/2022 08:13

Because they are rhe same name.
William.

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/12/2022 16:18

Oh. Never thought of that

I finally finished it (watched 1-2 live then 3/6 this week.

Overall I enjoyed it. I guessed they were twins so assume connects mum scarpered with Connor (then abandoned him) after leaving Liam in the flat.

Only thing that made no sense was the friend Beth. She was such a nosy bugger.
Anyway roll on season 3, if it happens

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/02/2023 21:07

Twins tho 3 mths apart

Surely ss knows the diff from a newborn to a 3nth

OP posts:
burnoutbabe · 12/02/2023 21:35

Maybe she registered Liam much later? As she got him when 3 months old but da oh s he was newborn?

We don't know how long mother of twins had conner before giving him up/to social services who then had to guess date of birth.

So maybe Both babies were just 6 weeks out, making difference 3 months.
