Just finished the 3rd episode and im finding it quite unsettling, I didn’t expect it to have that kind of effect.
I am however really enjoying it and will see it through.
Anyone else watching it at the moment?

I’m on episode 5. DH took kids out for the day so I did ironing while watching this. We live in a big old house and I always have the doors unlocked during the day but today I made sure everything was locked up 😂. It’s not a classic but fun when you are on your own with mundane housework.

Binged it over the weekend. Didn’t know it was true and the ending was a let down. Why do people wander round their houses at night with lights on and curtains open in negligee style nighties??? Even if no ‘watcher’ surely you wouldn’t.
it was entertaining and easy to watch

Always in American shows!!

dayswithaY · 17/10/2022 10:32

There’s a brilliant podcast called “Strange and Unexplained with Daisy Egan” that has an episode on this, if anyone wanted to know the real story.

There was no solution to it, so I’m guessing that’s why the Netflix show is a bit of a damp squib.

At first, I thought it was meant to be a comedy drama, like that Woman Across the Street from the Girl in the Window or whatever it was called.

But I think we were meant to take it seriously. That’s the problem with “based on real events”, there’s only so much artistic licence they can take.

Weekend binger here too! In the end, I couldn't wait for it to finish but felt compelled to see it through. It was beyond ridiculous and felt like a spoof. I honestly wasn't sure if we were supposed to laugh at points.

AnnieP1 · 17/10/2022 14:09

Starts well then gets progressively sillier and by the end is a total waste of time.
Really don't like series which have no conclusive ending.

Inkanta · 17/10/2022 15:24

Yes it went on and on in circles and with nothing conclusive. It did look promising at the start but I zoned out at all the data gathering and the inconclusiveness of it all.

I agree with this, it was just awful but felt I had to watch to the end.

CookPassBabtridge · 17/10/2022 15:28

I love netflix series and I love scary stuff, my standards aren't high but I genuinely feel that I've wasted some of my life watching this 😂

In now on the episode where the dead couple next door have just come back off their holiday. It’s all very strange.

Does anyone else think that the dad looks so much like the guy who played Baby’s dad in Dirty Dancing?!

I also thought it was Denny from Greys Anatomy!

Yes! I was thinking he reminded me of someone!

On episode 3 it's ok so far

Loved Jennifer Coolidge in it. She will always be Stiffler’s mom to me though!
so weird it was actually true though.

Oh my god thank you it’s been playing on my mind for days who she was !

I grew up in the states, and in my experience curtains weren't used in the functional way that they are here. Streets were much wider and houses were set back from the road, so it wasn't that easy to see into people's windows.

We did have curtains, which framed the windows in a decorative way. But I never once saw any of them drawn...

He was in the Third Watch as a paramedic. I liked him in that.

squashandrun · 17/10/2022 21:29

Ooh I really liked it! It's definitely camp in places though, not surprising considering it's directed by Ryan Murphy (Glee/American Horror Story). I thought some bits were lacking in plot but overall very creepy/unsettling and I liked the way it unfolded.

doesn't she look like a blown up version of Jennifer Aniston and even at times like Barbara Streisand?

AriettyHomily · 18/10/2022 00:33

I watched it to the end, had to see it through...

Anon778833 · 18/10/2022 00:55

Ugh, the acting is so bad. Not sure I can stick it out. And the background music is really amateurish.

Kate3150 · 18/10/2022 08:16

Getting close to the end now 😬, half way through episode 6 and I’m still really enjoying it.
Had some eye roll moments, but I’m still looking forward to seeing how it all ends

Inexplicably, we’ve sat through 5 episodes.

I’m not sure if we’ll make it up the end. it’s absolutely silly and DULL. Even Jennifer Coolidge can’t save it.

He was also 'funky-tasting spunk' guy in SATC. 😁

ellieboolou · 18/10/2022 10:55

Finished it last night, all a bit meh. Dahmer was so much better. Need to find a new Netflix fix now.

ellebelli · 18/10/2022 12:09

I'm watching, not sure what episode I'm on,I watch with wine!
The dad was the American football player in nine perfect strangers,he looks so different in this(I fancied him in the other)I do think he's a good actor.
I cannot stand Jennifer C,Looks plastic and can't act,I also think she's the watcher.
Why is Nora always in white?(her glasses look ridiculous too)
Why does she always want sex during the day when the kids are around?
Why does the PI always wear gloves?(hmm maybe its her, only creepy serial killers wear leather gloves at all times after all?)
Why are all the neighbours bat shit crazy?

Jewel1968 · 18/10/2022 12:17

Could not finish it. Twas rubbish in the end.
