Just finished the 3rd episode and im finding it quite unsettling, I didn’t expect it to have that kind of effect.
I am however really enjoying it and will see it through.
Anyone else watching it at the moment?

Halfway through episode 3.
quite enjoying it, but really don’t like the dad.

Panauchocolat25 · 16/10/2022 13:26

I watched it all in two nights! I had heard of the real story before from BuzzFeed unsolved show. So even though I knew the outcome, I loved all the back and forth with the guessing, and how all the neighbours were so odd!

Justcallmebebes · 16/10/2022 13:50

I agree with Towcat. Gave up after 5 episodes as it just got ridiculous, the actings crap and the characters just annoying

Lovelycupofcoffee · 16/10/2022 13:52

Started watching it . The neighbours are all very odd.

I'm on episode 4. At this point I'm wishing the mum would get a job, and actually help finance the situation, rather than spend her days playing tennis.

Not the main point, I know Grin

Mum's friend needs a new tennis dress. It's massively unflattering.

How did you miss that the mum works?

The actress who plays the friend always seems to wear unflattering clothes. Maybe she has a difficult body shape to dress

Sunbird24 · 16/10/2022 14:45

I’m binge watching today (procrastinating…) 5 episodes in and enjoyed the little jump scare near the end!

mycatisannoying · 16/10/2022 14:49

Yes, she works as an artist. But she seems to bury her head with a lot of the financial stuff.
And her success isn't really highlighted until she visits the gallery later on.

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 16/10/2022 16:39

Loved Jennifer Coolidge in it. She will always be Stiffler’s mom to me though!
so weird it was actually true though.

Squirrelvillage · 16/10/2022 16:47

I finished it last night, it was quite fun and yes a bit tense and creepy. Surely the cliched plot lines etc are just part of the fun? I thought it was a sort of parody. Really enjoyed it.

orangeisthenewpuce · 16/10/2022 16:59

Just finished the first episode. Absolute rubbish. Won't be watching the rest.

anonacfr · 16/10/2022 17:01

Episode 4 and things are really escalating!
I like the way all the characters are so unlikeable.
Daughter is such a brat.

The biggest WTF for me is how the real estate friend is massively intrusive and inappropriate about Nora and Dean's relationship and Nora seems so accepting of it.
If a friend I hadn't seen for years started giving me all this advice I'd be totally put off.
Not sure if she is trying to protect her or it is more sinister.
I don't know anything about the real life case so I going with it.

Inkanta · 16/10/2022 17:05

Watched it all. Yes it was rubbish - in a road to nowhere kind of way. A lot of eccentric and intriguing characters kept me hooked. But .....😴

GreekGod · 16/10/2022 18:05

Binge watching with DH as its pouring down with rain outside - we're enjoying it, on episode 7..like the fact that its kind of based on a true story; feel sorry for the family, all they wanted was a gorgeous home and are now paying for it

itsgettingweird · 16/10/2022 18:07

I'm episode 4.

I am enjoying it but not gripped iyswim?

I also found all the fucking this and that far too much.

I'm no prude and swear myself but it was out of context imo.

I don't know if I'll continue watching it

been and done it. · 16/10/2022 19:35

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 15/10/2022 23:32

I've watched it all and loved it,so did Dh.
Genius casting of Mia Farrow as bits of it had that Rosemary's Baby feel to it. I've been reading up on the story it was based on.

Omg didn't even realise it was MF...

love4189 · 16/10/2022 20:20

just finished it. What dreadful shite. Worst thing i've watched on netflix for ages.
For those wondering about the lull before
the pay off: stop watching now. There ain't no pay off.

CrushingAndClueless · 16/10/2022 22:21

I’ve watched 3 episodes and I’m not impressed. I don’t think I will bother watching anymore though.

I would love it though if someone could PM with what the outcome of it all was? Especially with the strange security guy!

When the little boy found his dead ferret it reminded of the film where the little girl finds her rabbit in the hutch without his head. Is it Fatal Attraction?

anonacfr · 16/10/2022 22:30

So just finished and really enjoyed it as a whole BUT not much of an ending?
I googled the real life case and it seemed to peter out so maybe they could have changed the story to add a bit more drama?

Fatal Attraction the bunny is infamously boiled and the little girl sees an empty hutch. Is that what you are thinking of?

I thought it was just the bunny’s head that was boiled and the decapitated bunny was still in the hutch which is why the little girl was screaming so much when she opened the door to the hutch and saw it?

It a been a very long time since I saw the film though so you’re probably right.

anonacfr · 16/10/2022 22:49

Oops maybe you're right? I seem to remember they had a censored versions cos loads of people were horrified. In my memory the hutch was empty and the bunny boiled.

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 17/10/2022 07:55

I've just finished e5 and on the whole I'm actually really enjoying it and think Bobby C is excellent in it. A few things that are making me want to chuck things at the tv -

  1. After all that's happened mum is wafting round the house at night in her floaty nighty with ALL THE CURTAINS OPEN
  1. How has dad not been sacked weeks ago for nipping out of the office for hours at a time?

But intrigued as to how it will end. Is the whole town a coven and needs to give a regular sacrifice to the house? Then dad becomes the next watcher?

N Watts is still very beautiful though.

Anon778833 · 17/10/2022 07:57

Ah yes - I’ve watched some true crime podcasts about this. Its crazy imagining how obsessive this watcher was. And even more bizarre that the police couldn’t solve it.

lazymum99 · 17/10/2022 08:53

Binged it over the weekend. Didn’t know it was true and the ending was a let down. Why do people wander round their houses at night with lights on and curtains open in negligee style nighties??? Even if no ‘watcher’ surely you wouldn’t.
it was entertaining and easy to watch
