Just finished the 3rd episode and im finding it quite unsettling, I didn’t expect it to have that kind of effect.
I am however really enjoying it and will see it through.
Anyone else watching it at the moment?

love it so so so so so sooooooooo much!!!!!
can't wait for season 3!!!!!!!!

MissPoldark · 15/10/2022 23:45

Watched the first episode but won’t be wasting any more time on the rest - absolute load of rubbish.

BattenburgSlice · 15/10/2022 23:47

I’m binge watching series 1 this evening and enjoying it.

monsteramunch · 15/10/2022 23:51

I'm on episode three - does it get better or go downhill?

I often find that halfway through a series of this length there's a bit of a lull while they're between the set up and the 'pay off' so to speak, so wondering if it's just for that and worth persevering with?

LadyApplejack · 15/10/2022 23:51

Really enjoyed it. Quite different, and entertaining. Easy to binge. Disappointing ending!

I thought there was only 1 series

Highschoolprobs · 15/10/2022 23:58

I can't watch it. I listen to a brilliantly funny podcast called Mysteries of the Unexplained and they covered the true story. I now can't take anything to do with it seriously. Give it a listen. The Watcher

Floweryflora · 16/10/2022 00:03

I watched it, it’s good and very watchable. Certainly didn’t play on my mind or anything like that.

AriettyHomily · 16/10/2022 00:11

Series 3, I thought it was a one off? I've just watched the first three episodes, if it wasn't based loosely on a real story I would have switched off.

NowWhatUsernameShallIHave · 16/10/2022 00:30

I finished watching it all and tbh it’s a bit meh

Ending was a bit obvious and meh

7/10

Probably does. Let's all switch off and watch The Witcher instead, much better entertainment 😁

bigblueyonder · 16/10/2022 10:15

Tried 3 episodes and all a bit meh... cannot help but think a lot of the fuss & drama could have been sorted out by a couple of protective German shepherd dogs - would have got rid if the trespassing neighbours in no time.

MolkosTeenageAngst · 16/10/2022 10:17

I watched it and didn’t really enjoy it at all. I found all of the characters unlikable, it was cliched and predictable in too many places and there wasn’t really any warmth or humour to it. I know it is meant to be a thriller but there was still no need to make all of the characters feel like caricatures with no depth in any of their interactions. I felt like too many aspects of each characters behaviour as the plot developed didn’t make sense, it was like things happened to move the story forward regardless of whether it was realistic for the people involved to act that way.

I also found there was no satisfaction with regards to the ending, the ‘twists’ were completely predictable and far too much was left completely unexplained. I probably wouldn’t have watched it if I’d known it was based on a true unsolved case as I hate things not being tied up!

PuppyMonkey · 16/10/2022 10:21

I found it enjoyably silly and watchable.

MimosaSunrise · 16/10/2022 10:44

Five episodes in and enjoying it. I found the first episode rather silly (repetition of horror film tropes of creepy neighbours), but it picked up after that. Pleased to say that up to now the twists and turns haven’t gone from intriguing to eye-rollingly ludicrous like so many other series like this. I’m thinking of things like the Harlan Coben adaptations and Behind Her Eyes, which I enjoyed at first and hated by the end. Presumably being based on true events has kept it on track.

Kate3150 · 16/10/2022 10:44

I will watch episode 4 tonight.

I have to say, I have really enjoyed it so far 👍🏻

I read the original article about what happened to the family who received the letters. I can see why they used it as a basis for a series but it's also annoying me as the series has very little in common with what actually happened.
I love the cast - I'd watch Bobby Cannavale and Jennifer Coolidge in anything. But I'm struggling to make it to the end because it feels so uneven.

AlinaSquareQueen · 16/10/2022 10:58

I quite enjoyed this, but didn’t love it tbh.

As a PP said, it’s nice to see Naomi Watts appears to have had no facial work done, as opposed to Mia Farrow and Jennifer Coolidge, who look like they’ve had, at the very least, lip fillers.

But great acting from the whole cast.

mycatisannoying · 16/10/2022 12:00

I'm on episode 4. At this point I'm wishing the mum would get a job, and actually help finance the situation, rather than spend her days playing tennis.

Not the main point, I know Grin

Mum's friend needs a new tennis dress. It's massively unflattering.

BlueSiamese · 16/10/2022 12:29

I am on the last episode, it's so spooky and wondering how true it must be to the original story. Someone mentioned reading up on it can you post the link. I haven't been able to find much on the owners probably down to my rubbish e skills.

The mum is a successful ceramics artist.

Cherry35 · 16/10/2022 13:11

It's not bad. I've binge watched it. Hated the ending though, made it seem not worth it.

She does have a job!
