I used to love Faking It, not sure why it stopped being made. The ones with the Cornish clog dancer turned street dancer and the classical musician turned club DJ were my absolute favourites and I still go back and rewatch them now.

What TV programme would you like to see brought back?

The Life and Loves of a She-Devil. Brilliant

I loved Child of Our Time - I had a DC born in 2000, so I watched it avidly. So very sad that one of the babies died by suicide a few years ago.

There was a similar programme called Born To Be Different, which I also loved, as my DC had a disability. I found it so uplifting.

ArtfulPuss · 08/10/2022 06:33

Tomorrow's World. I have been going on about this (to eye rolls from the DC) for years. Youngest DC would have been glued to it.
Though, not sure I really want to know what inventions are around the corner these days...

Drop The Dead Donkey

Newer versions of:

Londons Burning
Heart Beat

I was going to say Soldier Soldier but it's too close to home so I avoid military programmes.

I enjoyed a series filmed in a salon years back.

Did anyone watch The Last Train? Must have been on in the 90s and I loved it but nobody seems to remember it.

Ohh I loved this!!

MissKittyFantastico84 · 08/10/2022 09:11

Without a doubt, the show Hidden Talent on C4.

It was hosted by Richard Bacon and was about finding normal people with an exceptional natural talent for things, like learning languages or free diving.

My favourite episode was when they found a factory worker with no formal art training at all, who could almost immediately identify art forgeries. He had a natural eye for the form and rules of art - and it was so moving to see him discover what he could do.

It was like watching people discover they had super powers and it was AWESOME.

With Millie from This Life?

StinkerTroll · 08/10/2022 16:45

Time team obvs, I'd pay to watch the end of firefly, they finished it mid season (this was over 15 years ago now and I'm still bitter!)

I loved Faking It!

I also loved Would Like To Meet, where they sorted people out for a first date and spied on them in a surveillance van; and She’s Gotta Have It, a shopping/clothes type show with Liza Tarbuck.

And bring back The Clothes Show!

All of the above, plus:

What Not to Wear (original T&S version, not the one where they choose two women from five).

Bank of Mum and Dad.

Your Money or Your Life, with Alvin Hall.

The Adventure Game. I loved that as a kid.

Trouble at the Top/Blood on the Carpet. The BBC used to be brilliant at knocking out popular business programmes that told a story well. I wish that they would make more.

Lovegossip · 08/10/2022 17:54

Who rules the roost and child of our time

Also the "UP" series. I know the director/narrator of that died so I don't know if it will carry on in the future

FeralWitch · 08/10/2022 18:02

There was one that was a reality tv series about a family-run double glazing company. It was totally compelling and could be very funny. I wish I could remember what it was called.
