Soooooooooooooo bloodlands is back for second series

taking space of the capture

don’t read if havnt seen s1 - watch that then come back here 😂😂

The official synopsis for Bloodlands season 2 says: "When the murder of a crooked accountant unravels a trail of greed that threatens to expose his identity as legendary assassin, Goliath, DCI Tom Brannick and the accountant’s widow, Olivia Foyle must keep each other dangerously close.

"As they try to solve the riddle her husband left behind, and become more and more immersed in the puzzle of each other, Tom and Olivia draw in Tom’s fellow officers DS Niamh McGovern, DCS Jackie Twomey and DC 'Birdy' Bird, as well as Tom’s daughter, Izzy, until deceit and betrayal force Tom to question just what lengths he will go to to keep his legacy intact."

Season 2 of Bloodlands looks set to explore the aftermath of Pat Keenan and Tori Matthews's deaths, which Tom is responsible for.

While police believe that Pat Keenan was Goliath all along and that he killed Tori because he somehow found out that she was the one who kidnapped him, we know that Tom gave Pat Tori's identity because she knew he was the person behind the Goliath killings and he knew that Pat would kill Tori.

I guess he couldn't believe someone he looked up to would do that. Poor Birdy. I can't stand it when you can see someone's nose running when acting though. No need.

And... daughters hat makes her looks like a Smurf. Victoria Smurfit is dreadful - awful makeup.

Also it's common in NI for adults to say mummy and daddy!

Can confirm! Belfast here and if it’s not “ma and da” it’s mummy and daddy.

Funny because I’ve only been here 10 years and it’s totally normal now, but I recall when I moved here thinking it was weird 🤣

the80sweregreat · 10/10/2022 18:33

I was so tired last night I couldn't concentrate on it and missed 45 mins. Yet to catch up
We all agreed that Birdy would have a tough time of it ! Seems he has !
The Daughter is annoying , she is so odd

ThorsBedazzler · 10/10/2022 18:41

I found the daughter to be quite manipulative. They've barely been together and she's giving Birdy a hard time for not sharing (POLICE INVESTIGATION) stuff with her and demanding to know if he is thinking of an "uzzzzzzzz". Bit intense.

Birdy totally should have told his colleague everything. She's got her secret conspiracy attic room all set up.

What now for JN? Now that Victoria Smurfitt has skipped off wielding the dna laden gun and 7 bars of gold.

JacquelineCarlyle · 10/10/2022 21:30

I find the daughter annoying too although I do like hearing her say daddy (I'm from NI but living in England and I still say mummy and daddy, but miss hearing others say it, especially my own DC who take the p out of me for saying it!)

This series has gotten better so hopefully it will finish strong and I'll have more of an understanding of what's actually been going on!

Blocked · 10/10/2022 22:13

I think Birdy will have left something behind in Niamh's secret room.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/10/2022 23:01

Assuming birdy doesn’t have a bullet proof jacket on and actually is alive still ……..

He was short in the head, so I'm sure he's dead sadly!

vjg13 · 11/10/2022 06:34

I am so addicted to this and no idea why as it is so crap! I love the ridiculous lingering zoolander type faces James Nesbitt does too.

the80sweregreat · 11/10/2022 06:44

JN's face pulling in this is legendary
A kind of darkness.

I was surprised at how accurate her shot actually was! Wonder if she has a paramilitary background also?

A mug with cocoa dregs and a half eaten egg sandwich.

Rosehugger · 11/10/2022 13:22

Now that Victoria Smurfitt has skipped off wielding the dna laden gun and 7 bars of gold

She will cop it - Mr Savage will see to that.

Not Robbie.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/10/2022 13:23

Hi fives @the80sweregreat

imagine the smell of his farts in bed with all those eggs

Wow he has got loads of teeth

AJamEater · 11/10/2022 17:07

But (and disclaimer: I'm effectively only listening to this as my attention is focused on learning to crochet while it's on) surely at this point of double-double-double dealing, anyone with half a brain will assume that an experienced policeman/secret terrorist assassin wouldn't commit murder with a gun generously smothered in his own DNA? Why would you go to the bother of hiding your fingerprints with gloves if you knew your armpits were all over the murder weapon?

Also, Birdy: ffs. WHY WOULD YOU OPEN THE CAR DOOR? And also, what did you think blondie was doing while you were outlining the prosecution case with your main suspect? Packing the gold into a Sainsburys bag for life?

If this twist means that JN has a Damascean turnaround, recants his past and has two episodes to hide all evidence, avenge Birdy and go straight, then I might be up for that.

Actually LOL at that 😂

We have a customer over from NI today who sounds very like Nesbitt. After watching Bloodlands and reading this thread I jumped just now when I heard his voice outside my office 😆

DuncinToffee · 13/10/2022 09:07

Managed to catch up, it getting so ridiculous it's actually funny.

Was he shouting FUCK SAKE ROSEHUGGER Grin

Umanresources · 13/10/2022 12:18

My next door neighbour is from Belfast and he still talks about his mummy and daddy, which I do find quite endearing. I’ve only been watching this series on catch up but luckily I can follow it on here afterwards as I get easily confused!

MissMarpleRocks · 13/10/2022 17:13

Poor Birdie! Did not expect that. How is Daddy going to deal with his beloved dd’s reaction???
