If Aemond had even a tiny inkling of what his actions set off and who it affects the most, he would never have done it 😢

bercan · 24/10/2022 12:34

when will we get another series?

ClaudineClare · 24/10/2022 12:38

bercan · 24/10/2022 12:13

@ClaudineClare fuck i really am shit with the names!

😁 It has taken me until ep 10 to work out who is who!

Yes, and now we have to learn all the dragon's names as well.

I'm such a nerd, I love it though!

I also think Shireen deserved so much better than she got.

marmiteadict · 24/10/2022 12:41

@bercan Apparently earliest will be late 2023 or probably 2024.

The first season to 10 months to shoot then months of post production.

They haven't started filming yet. Will be a long wait unfortunately

BorgQueen · 24/10/2022 12:44

GoT was traditionally April, be nice to think it would be then but Probably 2024
I wish we’d have seen Winterfell and the Starks 😓

BlackberryCat · 24/10/2022 12:55

Yes, hopefully we'll see Winterfell in Season 2!

I could definitely see shades of Robert in Borros Baratheon.

Also, they mentioned that dragons are faster than ravens, which I guess is why Rhaenys got there with the news first, but then how did Erryk get there so fast? I do find the timelines a little confusing, especially as Rhaenyra left King's Landing the same morning Viserys died. It's like Virgin River. I can't tell if everything happened in one day, one month or over years.

If anyone sees a timeline somewhere that explains it all please link it for me! Or even better if someone has worked it out.

bercan · 24/10/2022 13:47

I can't wait that long!

It has taken me until ep 10 to work out who is who!

I'm much better with visuals!

WhathaveIdoneagain · 24/10/2022 14:28

Viserys warned Rhaenyra in the beginning of the series that although dragons put Targaryens on the throne, dragon can never be fully controlled. He thought that must have caused the Doom of Valyria.

I agree. Aemond does have a lot of good in him. He lost control of his dragon yes. Who just swallowed Lucerys in 2 seconds. The takeaway from this (imo) is that a war fought with dragons isn’t going to end well. Hence Rhaenyra’s concern about starting an all-out war.

Clearly, Rhaenyra is the best person to rule. But here’s the thing, the entire system has people leaning on birthright. You kind of get stuck with bad kings as well as good.

bercan · 24/10/2022 15:50

Daemon talked of dragon eggs, are they some of the ones that find their way to Dany?

AcrossthePond55 · 24/10/2022 16:20

And here I was thinking that Luc would make it back to Dragonstone after Luc's dragon zipped through that little canyon to avoid Vhagar! I was sort of distracted during that scene and only watching with one eye (pun intended) and jumped a mile and thought "What the hell did I just see??!!!" I had to rewind it.

Poor Rhaenyra! To lose 2 children (one stillbirth & Lucerys) in, what, 24 hours?

limitedperiodonly · 24/10/2022 17:12

That was thrilling - just like the first Star Wars, wasn't it? I wonder if the writers thought no one would be old enough to remember that.

limitedperiodonly · 24/10/2022 17:12

He was even called Luke

limitedperiodonly · 24/10/2022 17:24

Because I am a sucker I will watch series 2 if I am still alive and still have Sky but they are really taking liberties. It's been 10 episodes of massive time jumps and people being left out of it and then coming back and having to refer to what GRR Martin wrote and I woke up this morning to fans writing: "Ooh! Now it's really getting going."

And the only reason why Rhaenys did not incinerate Aegon and the rest of them in the penultimate episode was that would be that and there would be no second series. I don't mind suspending belief but I prefer it when writers don't take me too much for granted.

Rhaenys · 24/10/2022 17:30

bercan · 24/10/2022 11:49

OMG, OMG, I had no idea dragons could be such different sizes.

The stillbirth was so sad & now another child 😢.

They take ages to grow. Luke’s dragon was only the same age as him, Aemond’s was much older as he was her fourth rider. I think she was about 80.

bercan · 24/10/2022 17:51

is it worth reading the book?

Rhaenys · 24/10/2022 18:03

Yes definitely.

thank you

That was my 1st thought! Even the protagonist was 'Luke'.

I kept expecting to hear "Red Leader, standing by" lol

We are not sure.

And yet Daenerys's seemed to grow to full size within a couple of years Grin

WhathaveIdoneagain · 24/10/2022 19:39

Drogon was tiny compared to Vhagar.

Yes! Weirdly I was just thinking about that. I seem to remember there being some discourse about that at the time. I think within the GOT timeline they should have only been the size of large dogs.

marmiteadict · 24/10/2022 19:56

GoT Dany's eggs are said to be from Dreamfyre but not confirmed.

Thought the whole Dragons disobeying orders was interesting because during GOT they seem to be subservient to their mother but in this case they revert to animal instincts.

Arraax (Lucs dragon) flames Vhagar (Aemond's dragon) and then Vhagar goes rougue and eats them both.

Goes back to Vicery's comment to Rhaenares that don't rely on the dragons because they are unpredictable.
