Neighbours: for people who haven’t watched it for 15 years?!

As an original fan from the 80s/90s who hasn’t watched it in years, can anyone give a brief synopsis of current storylines so I get what’s going on in the final week?!

I kind of hope that netflix buys it. I'd love to see the 80s and 90s episodes again.

I do t have Netflix! It must be a freeview channel that picks it up. Id even hope that channel 5 does it- in the same slot would be marvellous!

I reckon I carried on tuning in intermittently until around 2000. I recall (perhaps wrongly) that Holly Valance (Flick?) was very centre-stage when I was last watching it. I 'fell' upon the penultimate last night when flicking through channels, so watched it. I only recognised Paul Robinson and Shane Ramsey characters. I had no idea who the blonde woman was he was trying to get it on with after they'd discussed what they'd do with the area up for sale.

I usually watch on the my 5 app, does anyone know of there is a way to see live channel 5 on my iPad, or when they release the episodes in relation to the live screening?

Isn't one of the menu options Live TV? And then you just select the relevant channel of the different My5 options.

My5 has it "live"

19 and a med student, apparently (about 17-18 by most other calculations, but Issy said it on screen, so she should know...)

I’m a similar time period in that I pretty much stopped around 2001. The Izzy character you mentioned I’ve never seen (she joined in 2003 apparently). In flicking through the channels since then you do get to see some faces so the like of Deltra Goodrem I recognise, but never followed any storylines. The only thing I’ve known in that time is they changed to HD which gave the show a very different look.

Was too young to remember the very start of Neighbours so don’t recall Shane Ramsay (do know him from flying doctors)..really watched from ‘87 to 2001. This week is the first time properly watched since then and the sets have completely changed. You can make out the interior of Kennedy’s house, the others I don’t recognise. No idea which is Robinson’s.

Whats interesting is there are two audiences watching this week..those who have been watching throughout, and the rest of us who are coming back for the finish (I’d imagine the latter is the much bigger number). The show has clearly catered for both (tbh I’ve next to no interest in the current characters). The scrapbook was a great idea in allowing old characters to reappear (Todd in the opening page)..also the flashback scenes with Helen and Mrs Mangel were great. Amazing to see today’s episode with Clive, Mike, Jane, Paul and Harold sat outside the waterhole. Mike imitating Melanie’s laugh 😆 It’s been brilliantly done.

I am so glad I just read this post, as I had not realised there was an episode today at the usual time before the final at 9pm.

Wow I would never have guessed who Therese is 😮 and shocked at how old Jane is.
