Neighbours: for people who haven’t watched it for 15 years?!

As an original fan from the 80s/90s who hasn’t watched it in years, can anyone give a brief synopsis of current storylines so I get what’s going on in the final week?!

I have started rewatching for nostalgia’s sake.

Carl and Susan look the same age that I imagined them to be in the 90s, when I last watched it.

Jane is still there. Looks knackered and like life has been hard. Ditto Shane (I think that’s his name).

Melanie is still there and as annoying as ever.

I have no idea what is going on. But it looks dated and probably needs to end now.

Gosh just seen Shane - yeah he looks like he's had a hard life.

Izzie looks much the same from when I last watched it when she was having an affair with Carl.

I saw Carl Kennedy actor being interviewed. He is bald because he has alopecia. Otherwise, he would look exactly the same age as when he joined, imo.

I haven't watched it for about 15 years, but set it to record this final week.

A few years ago they showed the very first episode, followed by Scott and Charlene's wedding. I was really getting into that first episode.

I'd love a tv channel dedicated to showing Neighbours right from the beginning, wouldn't that be great?!

Id love it if they broke the fourth wall at the end and stepped forward out of character to say a few words, or just bow etc. I've not watched since approximately 1996.

When is the last episode being broadcast?

There have been some cracking lines recently - the scriptwriters have been having a field day.

They are rolling out loads of former cast members for the finale, by the sounds of it somewhat tenuously.... Holly Valance and Natalie Imbruglia have apparently filmed a scene together in London although their characters never met. Even Margot Robbie is putting in an appearance.
