SHE is depressed about a building site in the back garden????
what about the neighbours????

expatinscotland · 16/01/2008 21:42

that house is an eyesore!

there is NO way i'd spend £600,000 on a house with that to look at!

Olihan · 16/01/2008 21:43

I haven't got much sympathy for them tbh. They're too arrogant and bullish.

Heathcliffscathy · 16/01/2008 21:43

uh-oh managing themselves....

GetOrfMoiLand · 16/01/2008 21:43

sophable - agree

Looks as if they were building it last summer - wonder if they got flooded heehee

BettySpaghetti · 16/01/2008 21:44

Only just switched on (after reading this thread and persuading DP to turn the footie off) - WHY, WHY OH WHY are they building a house in their back garden and selling the gorgeous old place??

expatinscotland · 16/01/2008 21:44

exactly, soph.

still wondering how that got approved!

because from the looks of it the new house will be the view from a lot of the surrounding homes.

eeeeewww.

Olihan · 16/01/2008 21:44

It's only going to go one way.

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 16/01/2008 21:45

she is just the type of woman i would not get on with 'that is soooooo me'

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 16/01/2008 21:45

ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Scampmum · 16/01/2008 21:45

I LOVED the log cabin (the A-frame) - I fantasise about that all the time and cried when they went back and he had a wife and a little baby!

Also liked the houseboat with the twatty husband. And the complete mentalist who built the 'house' on the barge - remember his reclaimed windows ?

Did anyone see the church with the pool for his kid in the middle?

MarkStretch · 16/01/2008 21:45

The woman is obssessed with the cooker hoods.

Heathcliffscathy · 16/01/2008 21:46

so sure of yourself hun. that it will look amazing. it better had hadn't it.

love the way she threatened divorce if she didn't get the play room.

Olihan · 16/01/2008 21:46

Apparently the old one is too draughty and costs too much to heat in the winter.

Oh and they want to be mortgage free so they're sticking that thing in he middle of their garden and wondering why they can't sell the other house.

Jeez, how does she walk with her head stuck that far up her bottom?

rosybud · 16/01/2008 21:46

She is so awful. Did she say three ovens????

katyt1 · 16/01/2008 21:46

they MUST have been flooded in the summer surely?

i loved the look of the old house too. if you can't afford an old period property, move to a barratt home on an estate, not build one to impose ugliness on everyone else!

and they are going to have to park in front of their old house surely??

inamuckingfuddle · 16/01/2008 21:46

oh I remember the church with the pool in it

expatinscotland · 16/01/2008 21:47

duh, it's a period house!

why not just sell that and buy a cheaper newbuild elsewhere?

or have the period house upgraded?

um, okay.

EmMcK · 16/01/2008 21:47

The log cabin family were SO lovely, the absolute antithesis of these horrible cretins

MrsCarrot · 16/01/2008 21:47

I remember that pool too, it looked quite odd but I thought the people were sweet.

Olihan · 16/01/2008 21:47

Scamp, I remember that one. Didn't like the final build though.

expatinscotland · 16/01/2008 21:48

my chief objection to these people is that they have shit taste .

inamuckingfuddle · 16/01/2008 21:48

yes log cabin people lovely, self build for all the right reasons

expatinscotland · 16/01/2008 21:51

aw, had to reduce the price by £70,000

BettySpaghetti · 16/01/2008 21:51

Old house too drafty and they want to be mortgage free?? Good lord I can think of easier ways of getting that...like buying a smaller/newer/better insulated house NOT piss off an entire neighbourhood in Regency Cheltenham by building a giant concrete breeze block!
