I was really looking forward to the third series of the boys, but sadly I just can't get into it, others seem to be really enjoying it, so it's a me thing.

Could really do with something to get into, any recommendations?

The last things I watched that impressed me were station 11 and top boy (bit late to the party with that one).

Yes agree with you about it being so stressful watching Ozark. I was so worried about them all the time, thinking they can never escape. How can they sleep thinking they could be killed at any time?
Great series though, we’ll worth watching.

Ohh yes I loved this too.

Loved Life After Life. Amazing cast, scenography, music. But perhaps not to everyone's taste.
Never did get on with Ozark despite the hype. Stressful and didn't really like any of the characters (which is why I don't like Succession either).

Unbelievable
Maid
Queen's Gambit
Little Fires Everywhere
Emily in Paris (pure escapism!)
In the Night Of
The Serpent
Clickbait

Another vote for Succession (Sky I think). Very good.

Also, if you haven't seen it already, The Bridge (subtitle version). BBC

Oh yes 'The Bridge' and also 'The Killing' - original Scandi versions though...

Big Boys on Channel 4 - a quiet gay teenage boy goes off to university, finds he's sharing accommodation with an outgoing Essex boy

Ghosts on iPlayer - from the Horrible Histories crew. Lovely warm series, not at all scary or spooky. More of a Detectorists vibe.

I loved Ghosts! Felt such a fresh concept. Funny, too, with very likeable characters that were cast spot on. Me and DP enjoyed binging that one.

PS: avoid the US version if you ever come across it. It's the same basic premise minus the wit and the warmth. Not a patch on the british version, IMO.

Great series though, we’ll worth watching.

And the funniest thing of all they were pretty much all unlike able characters, so why were we so worried?! Other than Ruth, who was actually a big softie. And Wyatt of course.

Loved the lawyers clothes too.

ethelredonagoodday · 04/07/2022 13:45

Sherwood on BBC.

Same with Heartstopper, I know it off by heart now.

Also loved Elite and Quicksand

ColMustardInTheLibrary · 04/07/2022 13:50

I love the Boys too. I’d recommend Peacemaker on Amazon - tis funny. Also Resident Alien is also a blast. Just started Midwich cuckoos which I think is bbc and is shaping up nicely.

SlingsbyKindaDay · 04/07/2022 14:37

Handsmaid tale is still hands down the best thing I've ever watched.

MercurialMonday · 04/07/2022 16:25

Russian dolls netflix - didn't know what it was but series 2 kept coming up as recommended - it was great - very odd but great.

Similarly Maniac on netflix - very off the wall.

One of the best bits - Sally Field was great in it - the line summing up what her son had done.

Start trek brave new worlds - paramount+ - really good.

Pixies74 · 04/07/2022 20:08

Best thing I've watched in past year (which I'm still bereft over finishing) is The Americans (and in top 5 of all time). Still haven't found anything to come close since.

Set in 1980s America in the midst of the Cold War and very very loosely based on true events.. Elizabeth and Philip are two deep undercover Soviet spies who are living as the perfect American couple, complete with unsuspecting teenaged children and their own travel agency.

Plot focuses on their and other Soviet missions and the FBI's battle to foil them, but it is as much about their relationships as it is a spy thriller, so is very emotionally engaging. Great script, plotlines and likeable, developed characters.

(On Disney Plus)

airrrrAIRRRRiELLLL · 04/07/2022 20:24

I've just watched Annika with Nicola Walker. It's a murder series with 6 discrete episodes. Nicola Walker is on top form as usual. Hopefully there'll be another series.

User74936782 · 04/07/2022 20:26

Oh, yes, The Americans, I'm thinking of watching it all again after I have finished watching A Place to Call Home again which is really good if you like family drama type thing.

Mennex · 04/07/2022 21:37

I was going to come on and say station 11 but you've already seen it!

Recently I liked Hacks.
