Was she "just" a friend from AA or more?

Hellocatshome · 03/09/2022 23:07

SoupDragon · 03/09/2022 23:04

Who was the woman who died?

Someone Dylan knew from AA I think

DreamToNightmare · 03/09/2022 23:57

I assumed Robyn was going to get pregnant by good old ‘Turkey blaster’ method? Obviously not if she’s injecting herself with hormones.

Wouldn’t it just be easier all round for self insemination to be done?

I know which option I would choose if I were the woman.

And the Teddy storyline was absolutely ridiculous!! I actually fast forwarded through it because it was just too stupid to watch. I know it’s only a TV show so it doesn’t have to be realistic but even that storyline was too much outside of the box to be interested in it.

I've a horrible feeling that the surrogate story will be all rainbows and unicorns. Despite the fact Robin has been exploited due to financial need. It's possible that it might be a Robin doesn't want to give up the baby story.

There was a surrogate story in Brothers and Sisters and the only negativeness was show as the actual surrogate not the surrogacy.

Do we know if they are using an egg donor or not?

Only on the first episode right now. Did not expect Charlie to be the one to prove me wrong!!!

TrashyPanda · 04/09/2022 08:27

We fast forwarded through the Teddy stuff too.
we knew he was going to get the guy out, so there was no suspense. And Teddy is such a boring character. I miss the days of Dixie and Jeff - they were brilliant characters.

AnImaginaryCat · 04/09/2022 09:35

Dixie and Jeff were amazing. The paramedics used to be brilliant. Just not good anymore, quite like Jan and Iain but thing Teddy and Sar ruin it - maybe if there was some character development it would help but we just seem to get the same story with them over and over.

(Have to confess, I'm not too sure what 'character development' means exactly 😀. I just assumed it means the character chances as they learn from things that happen to the character!)

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 04/09/2022 09:53

Have only seen the first ep so far but Teddy’s storyline was ridiculous. I presume we were meant to see it as some kind of act of heroism but it was just foolish beyond belief, going in there having done no risk assessment, completely underprepared, very inexperienced as a paramedic full stop, never mind in that sort of situation. He should be facing a disciplinary for that, surely?

TrashyPanda · 04/09/2022 10:07

i think Teddy and Sah are just cardboard caricatures, not fully-fleshed characters. Which is why we don’t care about them.

im surprised Robyn wasn’t told to lose weight before being given hormone therapy. I know 2 couples who were going down the fertility treatment route and both women were told to lose weight before they would be considered. Neither were anything like Robyn’s size. They both conceived before the treatment began.

spiderlight · 04/09/2022 18:48

I miss the good old Jeff and Dixie days, and Josh before them. There used to be some great paramedics. I do like Iain and Jan though.

purpleme12 · 05/09/2022 00:39

I cared about Teddy tonight.

But I'm just not bothered about Sah at all . There's just nothing to her, still

purpleme12 · 05/09/2022 00:42

I am already really pissed off about what they're trying to do to Dylan

unvillage · 05/09/2022 21:31

Oh no, this is leading to Dylan's exit storyline isn't it :( He hasn't really been a major character for a while though. Setting Stevie up to take over?

purpleme12 · 05/09/2022 21:35

I haven't heard Dylan's leaving?
I know that they're trying to get rid of him but that doesn't mean they'll succeed. I'm not convinced they're going to write him out

AnImaginaryCat · 05/09/2022 21:57

Why do they want to get rid of him?

Only decent character. I also like Ethan and Ash but they also seem hell bent on changing their characters to the point of them being unrecognisable.

(I'm in the unusual position of really disliking David.)

Doubleraspberry · 05/09/2022 22:01

I don’t like David so there’s two of us.

purpleme12 · 05/09/2022 22:04

@AnImaginaryCat Stevie complained to the manager who she's shagging that he stole her patient from her. The manager has just decided to take against Dylan and run a campaign to get him out, probably so he can keep on Stevie's good side and get her to be clinical lead.

But who's Ash?

AnImaginaryCat · 05/09/2022 22:12

Rash!

Ash was meant to be Rash!

AnImaginaryCat · 05/09/2022 22:15

You know which character I really miss (Jeff aside , as that's a given), Zoe.

spiderlight · 05/09/2022 22:21

I liked Zoe too - loved her and Max's storyline. I miss Noel and Big Mac too. Can't stand this creepy new receptionist. Why on earth is he still there after catfishing Charlie?

Rainbowcat99 · 05/09/2022 22:25

Exactly! I absolutely love Robin and can't stand the fact that (presumably because she's fat???) they only pair her up romantically with men who are very flawed.
Why can't a handsome doctor sweep her off her feet?
The receptionist (what even is his name?) is weird and unlikeable in the extreme.

😱😱😱

SoupDragon · 05/09/2022 22:37

Maybe it's leading to Stevie's downfall given she's shagging the manager guy. Or the manager's downfall. Stevia didn't look impressed - I think she realised she wouldn't be getting the job on her own merits but because of Manager Guy putting in a good word for her.

SoupDragon · 05/09/2022 22:39

i think everyone gets paired romantically with people who are very flawed though. makes for better TV I guess.

TrashyPanda · 05/09/2022 23:10

Zoe and Max were fab. Best Casualty relationship ever. Worst was Duffy and Charlie - they were more like brother and sister , so the vibes were decidedly icky.

i liked Diane as receptionist - her sarcasm was wonderful.

a doctor from a while ago that I really liked was Lenny.

best nurses ever were Tess and Fletch. I do wish they would bring Fletch back now the Holby is gone.

please do not let Dylan leave. He is easily the best thing about Casualty.

Doubleraspberry · 05/09/2022 23:39

There’s nothing left for me to watch if Dylan goes.

Please not Fletch. I found him intensely annoying.
