I think we had been introduced to Mona because I think he didn't take to the idea of him having a girlfriend intially but I believe that was months and months ago. I don't believe we were shown anything with his dad and Mona and Paige

SoupDragon · 08/01/2023 12:31

I thought Paige and Rash had split up too. They certainly weren't all over doves "meet the parents" even if they'd not actually split.

I remember Mona and Ashok getting together after Rash's mother died.

Yes exactly this is all what I remember.

purpleme12 · 08/01/2023 12:37

So quite a few people here recollect the same thing. One of the most confusing things!!

WhatICallMyUsername · 08/01/2023 12:50

Paige was supposed to be going for dinner to meet Rash's dad. She ended up going for a drink with Marty (it was the episode when he took Adi's stuff back and it ended up in lost property). She said I don't want to meet your dad Rash and he said ever or just tonight and she just shrugged.

I've just checked iplayer and it aired 19 Nov so quite some time ago!

Ah right ok I see now.
I hadn't remembered about the meeting the dad bit of the conversation.
But yes it still comes across that the weren't together after that!

"All over doves" should have been "all lovey dovey" 🙄

purpleme12 · 08/01/2023 13:23

Well they must have really made a boo boo with this one! It's annoyed me!

CherieBabySpliffUp · 08/01/2023 15:45

From what I saw the notebook looked like it could have been payments? So some type of loan shark thing going on?

LIZS · 08/01/2023 15:48

If she lived with her son why did she have a room at the care home, or was she visiting the friend who died and it was her room?

Goes in for the day according to the dodgy son.

Found that episode traumatising due to the stupid exercises in the management seminar.

I think she went there as a "social" thing... so lived at home but went there for afternoons (or whatever!) for respite or something.

I loved Dylan at the management bollocks "I think I'd rather just fall over" 😆

QuizteamAguillera · 08/01/2023 22:51

Wtf is with the music in this episode? Weird jokey music whilst they were discussing the gonorrhoea with the old woman? Very odd.

spiderlight · 08/01/2023 23:10

The music was very jarring, wasn't it? There's been the odd subtle sad music but the comedy music sounded completely out of place!

SoupDragon · 09/01/2023 09:01

I didn't notice the music at all - in fact, if asked, I'd say there wasn't any 😂

I think the gonorrhoea conversation was amusing though. Given how they'd been fighting and the length of his list.

SnowlayRoundabout · 09/01/2023 09:50

Me too with the management exercises! I was wondering how the hell HR thought that was appropriate with someone who is clearly on the spectrum. I also thought those falling backwards exercises were massively disapproved of these days anyway?

TrashyPanda · 09/01/2023 09:58

Plus am I the only one finding Charlie's contribution downright weird these days?

nope, his already limited acting skills have disappeared. When he was talking to Rash about his dad, I could have sworn Charlie was meant to have dementia too!

He bumbles in, interacts with only one character, says about six lines then is never seen again

yup, Charlie doing actual nursing is a rarity. And has been for years. He’s always slopping off outside for a natter. Or hanging reception, usually leaning on the counter, as he looks too frail to stand unsupported.

TrashyPanda · 09/01/2023 10:33

I was at one of those sessions, where the trainer threw stress ball into the audience. And hit a partially sighted member of staff full in the face…

great lesson in how to make your audience think you are a prick!

Oh my god that's really bad!

Fladdermus · 09/01/2023 12:29

Yeah, the team building exercises thing gave me some sort of PTSD flashback. I'm also autistic and used to work for a company who were totally into that sort of shit. One time they sent us to a team building day that involved giant inflatable 'gladiator' type shenanigans. I'm also 18 stone and have physical disabilities. They seemed somewhat perplexed at me having a full on autistic meltdown when they demanded I be attached to some bungy racing cord thingy.

Fladdermus · 09/01/2023 12:31

One of these. You run as fast as you can and then suddenly get pinged back to start. Not a great idea for someone with a spinal injury.

Dylan has never been diagnosed as autistic as far as I know, he has OCD and anxiety that is under control but "clearly on the spectrum"... I'm not sure is accurate. Clearly HR don't have a clue! It's a shit but realistic management team-building thing.

Rash's dad's deterioration was really obvious after the Duffy plot not so very long ago. The questions he asked were really clearly "safe" questions and not entirely relevant to what was going on.

Speaking of, I've been watching Classic Casualty on UKTV Play for ages now and can really pinpoint when it started getting shitty: when Duffy came back. She truly is dire, what a wet character and poorly acted at that, with so many storylines with equally poorly acted Charlie. It took a downturn almost straight away. I remember some good things about this era, Cal is going to die some time soon surely? And I liked David's mental health crises. I'm way behind since they started showing 2 episodes a day though.

purpleme12 · 10/01/2023 07:02

No he's not been diagnosed as autistic but quite a few people on here think he is. I just think he's Dylan

SoupDragon · 10/01/2023 07:44

I think he definitely has traits that suggest he's neurodiverse in some way. Less so now than in the early days though. He just comes across as blunt now.
