No, Teddy is Jan's nephew.

I wouldnt be encouraging any relative of mine to be a paramedic in Holby.

they have a propensity for tragic deaths. Stabbing is a favourite

Sandra Mute (for very old viewers like me) - stabbed and died
Josh - stabbed and survived. Mind you, after seeing an horrendous ep on Classic Casualty where he and Charlie strip off and run starkers into the sea, I could have cheerily waved goodbye to him.
Polly - stabbed and died
ian - stabbed and survived

Fin - murdered. We weren’t told how. And it turned out he was a bigamist.
woody - killed by toxic fumes
Curtis - fell off roof
Sam - hit by shrapnel and died from blood loss

the most tragic paramedic death was dear Jeff, killed in an explosion. his funeral was so moving.

IMO Dixie and Jeff were the best paramedic combo. Fantastic characters the audience really cared about. And realist too - they could both be moody prats at times.

purpleme12 · 03/12/2022 22:44

Dixie and Jeff were brill

spiderlight · 03/12/2022 23:23

Jeff and Dixie were epic. I really miss them.

bizzey · 04/12/2022 13:13

You can catch them on classic casualty on drama /UK TV channel.
(20 on my free view box)
In the mornings.
Not sure exact time as I record it .

Next Friday is the extended 30 year anniversary episode.

TrashyPanda · 04/12/2022 19:32

And we get two eps of Classic Casualty a day!

it is very interesting seeing how they changed Connies character from the Holby original. She is virtually unrecognisable, simpering away at Jacob, no more Connie the tiger who ate men up and spat them out. And seeing the whole Grace storyline play out again - she is a crap mother and Grace is increasingly psychotic.

TrashyPanda · 04/12/2022 20:40

Marry Charlie!!!???

is she wanting his pension?
cant think of any other reason why she would say that about a frail old guy who could be her grandpa.

more than a bit sexist too. Imagine if Faith, Stevie and Robyn were given as the choices for Ian.

LIZS · 04/12/2022 21:35

The Classic episodes are up to 2016 and so many of the actors are still in it!

unvillage · 04/12/2022 23:02

I cannot imagine anyone not wanting to marry Dylan.

I'd completely forgotten about Woody! And poor Comfort - Fin was pretty awful but she didn't deserve that.

There was Cyd who got bitten by a deadly snake too, survived it. Polly's death was devastating but agree that Jeff was the worst loss, he and Dixie were the best and she never recovered from losing him.

TrashyPanda · 05/12/2022 10:20

Dare we hope that was the last of dippy Paige?

Suffrajitsu · 05/12/2022 10:22

We need to add Lev and Fenisha to the list of deaded paramedics.

Suffrajitsu · 05/12/2022 10:25

That would be good.

It was really feeble of her to blame her stupidity on Stevie's mentoring. Surely a first year medic student could work out that, when faced with a non-breathing patient, the first response is to call for help, not leave them whilst you faff around looking for medication?

Well spotted!

have you noticed that invariably the ambulance always arrives before the fire brigade?

Ballsaque · 06/12/2022 22:52

When did Stevie and the Big Boss get together? I must have missed an episode because all of a sudden they’re a couple?

He's more in the couple than she is...

There's some age old link to do with her dead sister.

CorporateBull · 07/12/2022 21:35

He was married to her dead sister, and it was her sister finding out that they were having an affair way back (did Stevie tell her?) that led to her ending up in hospital. Details are very hazy as you can tell.

Ballsaque · 07/12/2022 22:32

Ahh Thankyou both. So all that info came from ages ago,no wonder I can’t remember it.

LIZS · 07/12/2022 22:42

There was a flashback when Stevie was introduced to an accident involving Robyn which left her sister injured. I think Stevie was about to tell her about the affair. There is an uncomfortable power dynamic about the relationship now.

purpleme12 · 07/12/2022 22:50

No she did tell her about the affair that's why the drove off cos she was angry.
It was Jade who was caught up in the accident, not Robyn

TrashyPanda · 10/12/2022 18:31

Warning!!

tonight’s ep is billed as a “special improvised episode”

What delights await us?

spiderlight · 10/12/2022 18:36

Oh good grief - this could be really bad!! 😂

bizzey · 10/12/2022 18:57

I only just caught up on last week's that I had recorded.
At the beginning the voice over man said that a member of the public had a role in due 100 years of the BBC or something.

Who was it ?

Was it the near dead body they brought in on a trolley at the beginning of the episode ??

spiderlight · 10/12/2022 21:08

Actually that was the best episode for quite some time!! Poor Jan though :(

SoupDragon · 10/12/2022 22:12

I was dreading that episode when I read the word "improvised" but I thought it was excellent.

MadisonAvenue · 10/12/2022 22:51

I wasn’t looking forward to an episode that focused on the paramedics, I’m not keen on Sar and Teddy, but I thought it was one of the best ones in quite a long time.
