Spider was a wonderful character, idealistic and sweet. I hope hestays around (although his relationship with Toyah would probably be inappropriate nowadays, he was a few years older).

I risked it. Spider is Emily's brother's son, Freda is Emily's husband's sister's daughter, so Spider and Freda aren't related.

Oh well done! I wonder if they ever met. People on Coronation street seem not to attend weddings or funerals of close relatives, so probably not.

I'm not sure I could take Spider turning out dodgy or in any way sneaky. It wouldn't fit in with my memory of him at all.

No I would be cross if they nastied up Spider. It would be nice, and realistic, for Toyah to have a supportive old friend to lean on.

I really hope they don’t make Spider nasty. It was bad enough when they turned Sharon from a bit of a spoiled little madam into a taser-toting drug dealer. I can’t take any more classic era characters being ruined.

Also, I will actually cry if we’re going to be subjected to a Peter and Nicky affair.
