Better Call Saul series 6 *Contains spoilers*

Is anyone else really excited about the new series tomorrow? I'm not sure if it's going to be a weekly episode or available to binge, but the trailer looks brilliant.

I can't wait to see what happens next although I'm dreading it too, as it inevitably will be the end of Kim in one way or another.

I’ll be heartbroken when it ends. It’s absolute genius. The cinematography and script, and the performances are way way above anything else on TV for decades. Completely different league.

I couldn’t work out how Lalo had made the jump to find Werner’s widow, but to be honest, I didn’t care, I am willing to suspend logical thought because I am enjoying the whole thing so much. I think what I like so much is that we are assumed to have enough intelligence to accept slight inconsistencies in the plot and not need spoon feeding to smooth over the bumps. But at the same time they also trust us to make links and see connections without having to have it spelled out in neon letters a mile high. It’s an odd combination of expectations put on the audience but it somehow works and is very refreshing.

I have no doubt he would have killed her. He preferred not to, because he had kind of enjoyed chatting to her, although she was a means to an end. He was disappointed when she turned up at the house, because that wasn’t the plan and he didn’t want her there. But he’s a pragmatist and does what’s necessary to achieve his goals and doesn’t deviate to fit in with other people.

The fact he didn’t have to kill her and got away will have pleased him…..in the short term at least. Later he might come to regret the fact he didn’t kill her because it could be that she is relevant in the story and the fact she’s seen him is revealed to someone else in the story and puts him in danger or spoils his plans. I suspect we haven’t seen the last of Marguerite.

It feels like Lao is going to find the super lab and there will be a face-off with Fring in some form. Will Fring find Lalo first or will Lalo discover the super lab and get to Fring first? It’s real cat and mouse isn’t it! Exciting.

Good summary, Wombat. Am loving the fact that, even though we know Fring & his lab survive, that Saul is ok etc - it still keeps us in suspense.

I think it’s another two episodes until the break? Am hoping to see a bit more flash forward of Gene before the break. And I think we’ll be seeing a Kim cliffhanger.

I can't remember the significance of the ruler in Perspex? Was it given to Werner as a gift by his team?

I think next week is the last episode before the break but I'm hoping we'll see a bit of Walt and Jesse as a teaser to keep us going until then. Definitely agree that there will be a Kim cliffhanger!

I’m thinking that the tool in the Perspex was a memento from the team after his death, but I could have that completely wrong.

am pretty sure we’ve got 2 more episodes before the break. I think they’ll save surprise guests for the second lot of episodes, but who knows? Quite frankly, unless the writers fuck up this last part of a great show, then they can do no wrong!

Also - what is Howard up to? That fight was a distraction. He’s used it to then set someone to tail Jimmy. Is that act going to be the thing that sets in motion whatever happens to Kim?

Kim is definitely becoming more reckless, and because Mike told her that his men were watching her and Jimmy to look out for Lalo, she won't be concerned if she realises she's being watched again, so Howard's PI will probably spot her. I'm hoping for Kim in prison rather than dead.

Yes, more Gene please - he needs a happy ending of some sort!

Will it be prison? Dead? Vanished by the vacuum man? Moved away and out of Jimmy’s life totally?

In his later life, whichever it is, the fact Kim was in his life for so long and so important, would mean he could have never forgotten her totally. If BB had been made AFTER BCS there would have been at least oblique defences to her, even if not by name.

But of course there aren’t any, because Kim hadn’t been dreamt up as a character for the earlier life, before BB was finished. It’s why it’s so odd. It works in one level and is so interesting to watch them working on different chronologies, but it will never work perfectly I think.

Fells like Gene will be the key to it all. He’s got the ability to look back in everything and has the knowledge to show awareness of all of Jimmy/Saul/Gene’s life in a way neither Saul or Jimmy can do. Loving it. It’s a bit mind bending, but I love watching it and then talking it through with my DH after, looking things up online to check previous stuff and chatting in here.
