Is anyone else really excited about the new series tomorrow? I'm not sure if it's going to be a weekly episode or available to binge, but the trailer looks brilliant.

I can't wait to see what happens next although I'm dreading it too, as it inevitably will be the end of Kim in one way or another.

The meeting between Kim and Mike was brilliant - it definitely felt significant, and also 'wtf, how have we not seen those two have a conversation before?!'

There are going to be 13 episodes I think, with 6 now and then the rest released weekly in June(?) so a bit of a wait yet before we see what happens.

Fring's hideout was awesome, and a good reverse as I assumed he was being watched by the Feds when we saw the front of the house that was on the CCTV screen at the beginning of the episode.

When are we going to see Jesse and Walt!?!?!

Wow that was an episode and a bit. I thought the neighbourhood watch couple had lent their house to the FBI or the Drug squad, but got it wrong again. I loved the Jimmy/Howard lookalike thing, I wonder how long it took to scrub off the orange.

I like the way Gus gets into his comfies when he gets home from work, you can tell he just likes to chill, and put his feet up on a lounger with a can of beer……Smile

“When are we going to see Jesse and Walt” didn’t some of the J and W stuff take place in the nail bar office though, how can that happen if Jimmy has been kicked out of there?

So hilarious was the Howard set up and we see the beginnings of Saul's client base. A slow burner though still thoroughly enjoyable!

I don't know if I have forgotten but Howard is a good guy?

wasn’t the prostitute the same one who Jesse hid with for a time in BB? He tried to get her to feed poisoned burgers to the street drugs guys if I recall. I would have thought a place like Albuquerque would run to more than one prostitute , but hey, who am I to know the logistics of the oldest profession!

I know you were meant to think it was the feds that have Fring under surveillance. But what is the actual point of that set-up with the secret passage to the other house surveilling his own house?

The court clerk was in the first series (and was thrilled to get a beanie baby then, before Jimmy became known as the Salamanca's lawyer); Jimmy's receptionist is Francesca, who was first in it when he and Kim were sharing the big office they set up when Kim went solo and was just doing Mesa Verde and then right through Breaking Bad.

I loved seeing Wendy and also Spooge! He looked a lot healthier than he did in BB, even without a cash machine on his head 😀

@Indigoo03 , the only thing that, in my opinion, makes Better Call Saul not perfect is the fact that we know all the characters that will still be there 4 years later.

I don’t care how threatening Lalo is, we all know Fring and Jimmy/Saul are going to be ok.

The only character’s fate that makes me lose sleep is Kim.

Also, does anyone else wonder what Fring’s motivations are to be in the drug business?

He works all day at the chicken place, has a relatively normal house and what seems like a very frugal existence.

he just seems to be spending inordinate amounts of money in protecting himself from his enemies.

It hardly seems worth the hassle.

Isn’t it more just to fuck over the cartel and the Salamanca’s as revenge for then killing his partner (both in business and love)? I can’t remember if it was BCS or BB that we saw Gus’ backstory.

I’m thoroughly enjoying it. I read a couple of synopsis pieces that summarised earlier seasons and also BB, but I’m still finding that the level of recall from previous seasons is a bit much for me. It’s not helped by the fact the last season was so long ago and the big delay to this season coming out. Plus, I know we all get a bit jumbled with the chronology, remembering stuff from BB that obviously comes later, along with earlier stuff from BCS and then there’s the flash forwards too. This is not an easy watch ….feel like you have to be o the ball constantly and spottting every little detail that is always referring something else from the programme. It’s why this thread is useful…I’m amazed at the level of recall some people have.

just out of interest, how many times have you watched BCS/BB and how recently? I did wonder if I neeedd to watch the whole previous season again…but just didn’t fit it in!

I watched BB three times, but the last rewatch was ages ago. I rewatched the whole of BCS for the second time leading up to this last series coming out, so I remember stuff, but I've also been reading lots of Den of Geek articles Grin

I agree with the Fring theory - he has a cold-blooded streak which seems to be far beyond wanting to make a shitload of money being a drug dealer. He's so organised and clinician, it's brilliant.

My latest theory is that Mike will be ordered to kill Kim and the thought of that happening to my two favourite characters is really stressing me out!

OOh, I like the idea that Kim goes off somewhere via the vacuum man and that Jimmy doesn’t know where and we are left not knowing either. He is a great invention to be able to vanish people for the purpose of an end storyline.

However, in BB Jimmy never seems to have a lack of closure about the past….if Kim had gone with vacuum man, he would be wondering about her…..that is, if the story had been written chronologically and his actions always reflected what happened in BCS…..but of course they don’t, because that earlier period wasn’t written.

In BB, Jimmy is living in the now. He doesn’t have lots of regrets it seems. He’s accepted th past and over on. Perhaps the flash forward scenes will reveal more to us about aspects of his past at different points from both the BCS and BB eras. I think they will be important in plugging some of the gaps and also giving us vital info about BB era we didn’t see in the series.

I'm getting confused with digging Germans. Did that also happen in Breaking Bad?
