Is anyone else really excited about the new series tomorrow? I'm not sure if it's going to be a weekly episode or available to binge, but the trailer looks brilliant.

I can't wait to see what happens next although I'm dreading it too, as it inevitably will be the end of Kim in one way or another.

Did I misunderstand, was there a sign for Alaska at the airport? Why is she going to/coming from Alaska?

Poor Kim. She broke bad but maybe rebroke good in the end.

Kim can have the next spin off show though. Her escapades in prison as a top lawyer. Or in her new assumed identity when she turns state’s evidence.

Twilightimmortal · 11/08/2022 20:23

Yes! I need a Kim spinoff.

TitsHerbert · 11/08/2022 20:29

Kim was brilliant. The scene on the bus was so authentic what a performance. Yes yes to a Kim spinoff

Punkypinky · 12/08/2022 14:31

This was such a good episode! So I guess the next one will tie it all up. Still feels like they have loads to do in the next one to tie up the loose ends.

This was a reference to Jesse - the destination where his story ends. There were so may in this episode, it was fun looking for them. They certainly don't put random little details on this show!

Another reference which stood out was mentioned by PP - the 'Yep, yep, yep!' from Kim's bf was a nod to Kevin Wachtell, it was so clever (and funny).

Wow, what an episode. I've just realised I've foolishly made plans for both Tues and Weds evening next week so will have to wait til Thurs to watch! 😱

Very clever episode.

It looks like Kim won’t be tried. I like to imagine now that she will escape the terrible dull life she has been living as penance and it will end with her launching her career as a lawyer doing pro-bona work for those that need her help again. But perhaps there can’t be a happy ending.

Definitley looks like Jimmy is heading for a bad end. BB and BCS are essentially a moral fable about the bad coming to terrible endings after their moral decline. Like the others in BB and BCS before him, his ending is coming now. Prison? Death? Can the vacuum cleaner man come into it again?

OR, will there be a massive twist in the last episode so all our ideas of where this is all leading are wrecked and the end will be something totally different? It’s very possible. They don’t like to give us what we expect.

Playplayaway · 13/08/2022 12:28

Even though Jimmy has done bad things, I've always liked him and wanted to see him have a happy ending. However, the Howard stuff, robbing a man with cancer and threatening an old lady has changed my mind. He needs bringing down. He'd probably quite enjoy prison and would carry on his slippery ways, so I dont think that's fitting for him. I'm going with some sort of grisly death, maybe something catastrophic but accidental due to him being too cocky.

A Kim spin off would be amazing.

Punkypinky · 14/08/2022 05:57

@Playplayaway i agree they are definitely starting to show a darker side to him. I thought where he had the phone chord ready to strangle Jeffy's mum and then changed his mind showed how bad he could go but that he wasn't quite that bad... yet. Not as ruthless as some of the other characters in the show anyway (still a lot worse then you're average person though).

I'm starting to feel a bit stupid because I've kind of lost in my head the order of how Jimmy/ Gene / Saul came about now since we're flipping about so much. Is it Jimmy became Saul, it all went wrong with Howard and he hid as Gene then went back to being Saul??? Or was he Jimmy then Saul then Gene and we're just having Saul flashbacks?

Lengokengo · 14/08/2022 17:56

Hé was first Jimmy (real name) then he morphed into Slippin Jimmy (petty criminal) then when he had passed his law degree he started transitioning to Saul after his brother refused to acknowledge his success. Then after The Howard incident and Kim Leaving him, he became full on Saul, which is where Breaking bad starts. Then after Walter White has made so much cash/drugs/ died and everything s got too hot, he had to change identity (through vacuum cleaner man) to Gene (all filmed in black and white) which is in Nevada. Now we are nearly at the end of Gene as his cover is blown.

Punkypinky · 14/08/2022 18:06

Thank you!!! That will stand me in good stead for the last episode 😊. Did we see the vacuum man give him the gene identity and life? Did I miss that??

Ah, thanks for explaining this, I thought I had imagined the Alaska sign.

What Kim & Jimmy did to Howard was pretty unforgivable though so I'm not feeling too sorry for her. Obviously they didn't plan for him to be murdered, but the suicide cover up and defamation of character was horrifying for his family and colleagues. Jimmy was able to compartmentalise it, but Kim obviously couldn't. Jimmy shot himself in the foot with that phonecall, it bought it too much to the surface for Kim and she just had to let out. And let it out she did, spectacularly.

Superb writing, superb acting, superb cinematography. I'll be completely bereft when it ends. Like some pp on here, I'm back into watching BB and I'm going to do the whole if BCS afterwards. I might just watch them both on a loop forever :)

This in spades!

I was away last week and have just watched it (great breakfast viewing!) - everything about this series is just sublime!

Emotionalsupportviper · 15/08/2022 09:05

I thought where he had the phone chord ready to strangle Jeffy's mum and then changed his mind showed how bad he could go but that he wasn't quite that bad... yet.

It could have been something as simple as time - it takes longer to strangle someone than you think, I expect - and he could be in a situation where every second counts. He'll want to get away, get a bag full of his cash (as least!), and then make his arrangement.

But I certainly agree that all of the affection I'd felt for Saul as a "lovable rogue" who had got caught up in a situation beyond his control have just evaporate. He may have started like that, but he is now bad to the bone.

Indigoo03 · 15/08/2022 11:30

It's weird as when I first started watching BCS I was really only interested in how he became Saul.....not sure I was THAT bothered about what happened after. The episodes in black and white were good in themselves though probably preferred more time with Vegas, lalo and Kim....

Playplayaway · 15/08/2022 12:03

We've just finished rewatching BB series 4. The demise of Gus Fring. Probably the best few minutes of TV ever.

I remember watching it the first time and thinking... Whoa! How did he survive the blast?!.. Then you see the looks on the nurses faces and the camera pans around...

We rewound it several times because it deserves to be seen again and again. Dh spotted a leg in the room that we had missed 😆. Superb.

KatharineofAragon · 15/08/2022 13:09

That was absolutely brilliant wasn’t it!

One of the best episodes of BB, any season. Loved it, and I too watched it over again and again.

Hello,
just wanted to send a virtual hand hold to everyone watching the final episode today.
I’m resisting the temptation to Google reviews in US sites for fear of spoilers.
I’m on holiday but husband working so I’ll watch it with him tonight.

viques · 16/08/2022 09:57

Oops, was typing with my eyes shut to avoid accidental spoilers and managed to post on completely the wrong thread.

saving it up for tonight, phones off, doorbell battery removed, don’t knock on my door unless you are bleeding or my bin is on fire.

fingers crossed for Kim.

Playplayaway · 16/08/2022 10:22

Oooh I can't wait for tonight. I almost don't want to watch it, is that crazy?!

Shivermetimbers0112 · 16/08/2022 14:36

Perfect ending.

hockeygrass · 16/08/2022 15:52

Great ending

KimWexlersPonyTail · 16/08/2022 17:10

Gearing up for tonight and possible name change by tomorrow!

Emotionalsupportviper · 16/08/2022 17:13
