Better Call Saul series 6 *Contains spoilers*

Is anyone else really excited about the new series tomorrow? I'm not sure if it's going to be a weekly episode or available to binge, but the trailer looks brilliant.

I can't wait to see what happens next although I'm dreading it too, as it inevitably will be the end of Kim in one way or another.

I thought Walt was pretty great but yea, Jesse's visibly aged much more - I guess the decade or so gap between the two shoots is more pronounced for a young man than an older man. His voice sounded weird though - bit like Chandler on Friends went after he got addicted to prescription drugs

Yeah, even though I knew it was the original Jesse, he sounded like another actor trying to sound like Jesse.

I did love the Jesse comment about the round bottom flask 😁

I'm so confused though; thank goodness for this thread as there's so much that I haven't picked up on. We've started watching BB again, three eps in and already over-invested (again).

Any thoughts on what happened when Saul attempted to ring Kim from the phone booth and then looked like he was arguing with someone and then started smashing it up? So frustrating not being able to hear the conversation (yes I know that was the point Grin)

I'm guessing Kim is there but told the manager not to take interstate phone calls for her. the Jimmy/Saul/Gene relationship is clearly being opened up for the last two episodes.

I'm seeing this go two ways.

  1. Jimmy and Kim get back together and live a low profile but happy life
  1. Jimmy gets nailed by the Feds at Kim's instigation
If Jimmy gets nailed at Marion's instigation the Kim bit remains open unless she gets nailed too but given she leaves in BCS before Jinmy gets into real trouble in BB it's a bit hard to see how that works

The way I saw it was that Kim was refusing to speak to him on the phone, and his sheer frustration at that was what we saw in the phone box.

He's so used to getting his own way with people, with his smarm and loquaciousness. It's not going to work on Kim.

Could be Kim is standing firm on starting a new life away from grifting Jimmy/Saul and as soon as she acknowledged her part in the Howard set up and witnessed his death she knew she had to get away and 'cleanse' herself of that. The 'fun' stopped right there. Remember how Howard said something like he expected better of her?

Maybe Jimmy/Gene actually spoke to Kim on the phone but she told him they're over and he's remonstrating with her then mad enough at her rejection to kick the phone box in? Kim may love Jimmy/Saul but she knows they can bring out the worst in each other.

I want to think Gene/Jimmy/Saul is running tricks and stashing money because of something Kim said on the phone. Is she in trouble? Ill? The tide seemed to turn pretty quickly after the phone call and he was back with Jeff and ready to go. In reality it’s probably something much simpler and nothing to do with Kim. Slippin’ Jimmy just can’t leave his old life behind.

My take was that she told him to leave her alone and he pulled the rip-cord so to speak, going back into his scams and taking it way further than he had before because he had lost all hope of reconciliation. Kind of similar to how her leaving him in the first place cemented his transformation into Saul.

I think you’re right. I just want to believe there is a Kim/Jimmy reunion and it’s all for the greater good. I really should know better 😆

He wasn’t on the phone to Marion - she’s the old lady, mum to the taxi driver. He was on the phone to the receptionist from their old law set up.

He definitely tried to get through to Kim - because their old receptionist told him that Kim, at some point, had asked how he was. We just do t know whether he was getting irate with Kim or someone at her company who wouldn’t put h8m through.

I agree with a pp - poor phone boxes get a bashing!

Hate to say it, but this episode left me feeling flat. I really didn’t enjoy it - and I’m annoyed with myself for feeling like this. I felt bored - slight bit of feeling when I worried that burglar guy wasn’t going to remove the door jamb tape.

Am worried I’m expecting way too much from the final episodes. But, for me, this was the most disappointing episode so far.

I'm thinking Kim is dead or I'll from his reaction. If reception or Kim refused acceptance of call then Jimmy would easily find another way eg pretending to be a client etc. He's persistent and thinks outside the box to get what he wants....I'm assuming he did not get any conversation with Kim

I’m watching BB all over again. Shocking how different Saul looks when he appears. He’s overweight and nondescript looking. He hasn’t yet inhabited the character and seems such a different person.
