I enjoyed it in a 9pm on a Sunday sort of way. Guardian reviewer said that the ghost of Lisa Faulkner [who had an unfortunate encounter with a chip pan in episode 2 of Spooks] hovers around from about the twenty minute point and refuses to dissipate and that's very much how I felt.

I was annoyed about the "one last plate to check" which I thought was too obvious what was going to happen.

Very dull until last 5 minutes. Are we to assume Adrian Lester is dead? Might not have been his arm as there were several people around the van when it exploded that he was trying to clear out the way.

He is very dead. They'd have helped him if he wasn't, not just said Don't Look! and then sodden off.

When they said they were lifting the cordon I said to DH there’ll be an explosion in a minute then, which one will die?

Yes to lack of headtorch/taking goggles off & clunky dialogue - also, Vicky McC 'shoutiness' seemed a bit incongruous in that role - she sounded a bit ranty/unprofessional - like she was trying to fake the urgency/danger

And the door ram/"all clear" stuff is soooo formulaic I think I could role-play my way through a raid now DH was more intrigued with flats having stairs in them

Both my sons are currently renting flats with stairs in them. I was surprised too ( 80s builds I think ?)
I can't see her going back to that job now
I wonder if the other guy that we with them in the van operating the robot that malfunctioned is also dodgy?

It will be his arm. It had the tattoo on it of a cat. Vicky McClure character had the same tattoo - there was also a reference to nine lives which I assumed was in reference to the tattoo

The camera lingered on his tattoo when he was standing by himself and hers when the SO15 dude held her hand so was clearly going to be relevant

Awful. So clunky and unrealistic - badly researched in terms of the light switch, as other posters have mentioned. Also, for what is a really exciting subject matter, for a lot of the time it was deadly dull, so the pacing was all off.

Jed Mercurio has form in LoD for killing off a main character early on, so it was obvious what was coming, but the script and directing signposted it so clearly anyway that it was totally predictable.

I rather rate Vicky McC as an actor but she wasn't doing her best work in this - I think that shows that it's really hard to do very much with a poor script.

Maybe the acting wasn't that great because they were obviously in a real place with the general public ? It also looked very hot and filming takes forever too ( so i've read !) so it might have been a long few days for them in all those heavy outfits and so on? Usually it's a film set , so it can't have been easy to film at times.

There was a programme on called ' Danger UXB ' in the 70s about WW2 and unexploded bombs, reminded me a bit of that drama!

Can anyone explain why one minute that Andy guy is being yelled at to not move a muscle and the next she’s frantically patting him down just because she thinks there’s a second phone? I thought that seemed quite dangerous!!

Adrian is deffo dead. They were literally talking about him leaving his job for his family 2 mins before. Always a clue to imminent horrific death in said job
