Looks good

Love both Vicky and Adrian as actors

I was watching and thinking they would do what they did in the submarine drama, and kill off what appears to me a main character in the first episode.

Maybe the next five episodes will be about her having a break down, having to see the widow Jac and his kids, being supported by her new boyfriend, it might become a bit ' soapy ' now as big budget explosives and filming in real areas probably can't go all the time!
She'll might be drafted in to fix the robot 🤖
Who knows? Dh liked it because it involved action and explosives!! 😂

I just said to DH that they're going to kill off Adrian Lester as he's too big a name for Vicky McClure to be the star.

Very disappointed in that. They were totally inept (tiny torches, touching light switch, panicking, sharing wire cutters and mirrors, kept taking off protective clothing...) and not suited to their jobs at all. I was expecting an explosion and him to die all the way through, so when he did I didn’t care.

I agree with the ineptitude. I asked DH why she took off her gear/didn't have a torch herself to look under the car.

But very very gripping!

Bomb squad do take off their helmets. It’s to make sure they don’t catch or knock anything. Basically, if a bomb goes off, a helmet won’t save you.

That was total dog shit. And I can't get past Vicky being a copper and not line of duty. I'm having to pretend she's on secondment.

I enjoyed it.
I suppose if it is spot on with regards to accuracy it would be very boring.
Nothing has ever beaten Christopher Eccleston being stabbed by Robert Carlyle in the first episode of Cracker, totally unexpected and brilliant.

I miss Cracker too!

I worked for a company that made bomb disposal robots (but not this one).

Characterisation didn't seem to good to me.

But I will watch again

Exactly my thought.

I jumped when the explosion happened! Agree with the light switch moment etc. I enjoyed it though. Lots of tension, then you relax, then jumpy again. May not be the best dialogue but I liked it. Sticking with it.

You'd think they would have a £5 head torch as a standard bit of kit, wouldn't you?

I was ready to watch with the same level of vigilance of LOD… happily not required which was just as well as I had a load of red wine with my Sunday lunch so was v 😴😂

I quite enjoyed it but am gutted that they killed off Adrian Lester in episode 1 🙁

It was a bit clunky but I enjoyed it. The van seemed too prominent in a couple of the scenes and the lingering look at both tattoos (him and her) meant they were clearly important/ relevant

And yes to light switch 101!!

Has been massively overhyped though - and god the adverts. ITV have clearly flogged every second of adverts

But it’s left me wanting to watch next week

Dialogue was clunky I thought - all that clarifying his marriage troubles in three sentences.
Light switch bit was ridiculous
And I don't believe that bomb squad ignore orders and march heroically towards car bombs.

I'm giving it another week as it's premature to judge on a pilot ep.

Has anyone watched The Bay? Any good?

Didn't realise it was Adrian L who was killed, I thought we wouldn't find out till next week.

We record it so we can fast forward through the breaks. Hate watching on the hub as you have the breaks go on forever!!

We enjoyed it. I nearly jumped out of bed at the explosion.

Very dull until last 5 minutes. Are we to assume Adrian Lester is dead? Might not have been his arm as there were several people around the van when it exploded that he was trying to clear out the way.
