There weren’t that many people there considering it was a fancy venue. Didn’t they usually shell out for a few extras in those days?

They’re travelling to Florida in smart clothes David & Sarah didn’t even get changed. Gail looked lovely though.

I do think they are being a bit mean with Norris and him being a volunteer at the commonwealth games. It was a big thing for Manchester at the time. Who cares what Les does

A female friend was a volunteer and got nicely heckled by some youths saying 'hello Norris' 😁

I saw a photo of Helen Worth at an awards ceremony in around 2003with Brian Capron - I think he’d won the Soap Villain prize or something - and she looked stunning in a black strapless dress.

Nick and Maria are ridiculous. Also why does Nick have a totally different accent to the rest of his family?

It seems so weird that all this went on with Nick and Maria, yet they still live on the same street and have barely exchanged two words in the last ten years! It’s almost like the writers forgot their history with the recast.

It’s also quite weird hearing about Stephen as if he’s just this nice benevolent uncle in Canada 😁

It’s the summer holidays at the moment 🙂 Ken was only ever freelancing for The Gazette, so he’s probably free to work for them more often during the summer.

I did like the segue today from Ken talking about heaving chests to Les and Kirk’s pigeon chests 😁

I’ve noticed that, in Classic Corrie, people dress for the seasons. It’s summer,
therefore you see shorts and T-shirts - and when we get to winter, the big coats will reappear. Nowadays, characters are in overcoats in July and T-shirts on Christmas Day.

I don’t remember Keith Duffy’s acting being so wooden! It’s like he reads the script from the back of his eyeballs.

at least I know he does warm up and becomes a really good character.

Watching him come onto Shelley was so uncomfortable to watch.

@Tourist29 probably, although I did mention to DH that Sophie is probably in the cupboard (where the soap kids reside when there's no storyline for them)

I wondered if I missed something, Rosie's broken arm. Did that just appear? Perhaps Helen Flanagan broke it in real life (tried googling, no luck)

I think she probably broke it in real life - there’s no need for the storyline, and if it was important we’d have surely seen the accident, or at least a trip to the hospital.

Did the saga of the sofa ever get resolved? The last thing I remember is Eileen lying so that she could keep the fancy one and Les nicking her old one. Was that the end of it? I only ask because now we have the saga of the radio instead.

Does Eileen have a sofa storyline written into her contract. Didn't she have one in the future? I can't sort my tenses out.

Yes - and weirdly, I think her current sofa looks very similar to Karen’s designer number.

Karen’s posh sofa was too big for their flat so ended up at Eileen’s . The guys from the shop came to collect it but there was a stain on it so it stayed. They took the old one away though nothing was said about it not being the posh new one.
