Why is Classic Eastenders back on but not Classic Corrie? <sob>

I know I had to cheat and go on you tube to watch the next episode after Duggie falls down the stairs lol.

Ooh - who knew that Norris would turn out to be spot on with his suspicions about Richard Hillmann? And Rita - whose judgement could usually be relied upon - would reassure him that Gail has absolutely nothing to worry about? I love watching these episodes with the benefit of hindsight! 🧐🤔

When they had Mike’s surprise party at Ken and Dierdie’s the house looks huge! And obviously has an upstairs toilet unless Audrey went for a tinkle on their bed. In later years I guess they lose the dining room and living room when everyone moves back- Peter, Tracey, Adam and poor Ken is just left with the kitchen.

i think that was the dining room they were all in wasn’t it? Just the table was moved. That’s where they still sit now. Front room where Adam was and Mike and Ken had their chat definitely becomes a bedroom later - I think Blanche might end up in it?

I just watched the episode with Mike’s surprise party. I have to say, that’s the best episode I’ve seen in a while! So much love and heart in it.
Emily’s talk with Adam and she ended up singing, Deirdre’s heart to heart with Dev in the alley about how she is happy with her life - I wonder if this rings true with many viewers too. And then Mike and Ken at the end, winding each other up but still have so much respect there.

loved it! The true heart of Corrie. Solid characters and great acting.

I thought the party episode was great too, lots of very funny lines and scenarios - brilliant writing

Todd is portrayed as being the 'good' brother, never causing Eileen any bother etc. When did he turn into the manipulative, not so nice person we know (and love) now?

Sometimes brothers change. Recollections may vary...I think watching classic corrie proves this!

And with a new head, too. It's interesting how the character also seems to change personality when the actor is replaced. As well as Todd, there's Tracy and Peter Barlow, Susan Barlow, probably others. Not including the many child actors who have been replaced as they get older, as the change is kind of inevitable in those cases.

Well Todd came back with his old head originally and was evil then - he only got his new head recently enough!

It’s disgusting hearing Les talking about Vik’s lady friend Hazel, is this how men used to talk about women? Just because they’re sleeping together, she’s fair game for other men to have a go?

Yes Les is far from perfect. It does seem very sexist those cabbie scenes.

I don’t think the Les character was much of a stretch for the actor - I have to fast forward when he’s on. I heard the Cilla actor on the radio recently being very diplomatic about Corrie - it was a really long time ago and she misses some of the people some of the time.
