I don't like the Martin and Sally story line at all ,,he's mates with Kevin, she's friends with Gail ,far to controversial.

I don't remember that storyline at all.

Corrie used to build so much context and backstory! It’s obviously in the wake of Gail feeling vulnerable and thrown off guard and a boy useless after the whole Gary-perv scenario that Richard pounces.

didn’t remember about Sally and Martin- but was wondering why Sally and Gail were such great friends in these times and not so much in the present day!

i don’t think Martin and Sally last very long. Martin is such a dick! Doesn’t give a shit about hurting their two best mates/exes.

I always think it’s a shame that the Gail and sally friendship is gone in modern Corrie. And the way both characters have been ruined and turned into comedy characatures (sp?)

Jack P Shepherd is such a strong actor. Helen Flanagan is very competent too (it’s a shame she went down the lads mags route and lost credibility). Helen was a brilliant teen goth!

Too many “issues” for me currently. Rape, child abuse, grooming, smear test scandal, bribery. Jack’s shed is a nice antidote!

Would be great to get Alec, Reg, Mavis, Spider, Natalie and a few others back. Including Our Turreh…fab villain.

Looking forward to Candice and Audrey together in the salon. There’ll be a few comedy exchanges.

All the child/ teen actors are quite impressive imo Well apart from Sophie, but she will be changing heads soon .

I think that when youngsters have to be replaced, the producers allow them to say that it was their/their parents’ decision, which is the decent thing to do.

Do you mean in the current Corrie? Is Toyah still in it? I stopped watching it during the decades-long Pat Phelan story. I might have to restart if Spider and Toyah are reunited. I liked them together when they were young.

Yes i think they said old head Sarah-Louise wanted to finish ti concentrate on schoolwork and old head Rosie wanted to finish to concentrate on gymnastics
It's OK when the child actors are just expected to sit quietly and say the odd word but when they have to make it believable they obviously have to replace them with decent child actors.

Yes they are both in it and have resurrected their lost love. I always look at young Torah and compare to the now version. She’s really changed a lot.

I'm watching yesterday's episode. A lovesmitten Gail has been shopping in Jigsaw. She has my 2001 lavender cardigan.

The criminal lawyer visiting Toyah and sharing a cup of tea together is totally unrealistic. I am not aware legal aid solicitors had time for house calls! Even in that era.

Does anyone else think Alex Swinton is miscast? I might be biased, as I remember the actor as a kindly policeman in Emmerdale, but he just doesn’t seem very threatening.

Yes I agree, he looks like an amiable kind of bloke not a wife and child beater .

Seeing the end of yesterday’s episode where Jack was singing to Vera made me quite emotional. They’d never end an episode on such a sweet note now.

I think that Alex is well-written and perfectly acted tbh. Lots of domestic abusers are nondescript. It is how they manage to fly under the radar.
