Is anyone watching? No one I know in real life watches so I have no one to talk about it with- I'm on the current series on TLC when Kody is going all crazy paranoid about Covid

OP posts:
AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken · 24/01/2022 17:54

Yes. He’s devastated about “being thrown out of HIS house”

Iamdobby63 · 24/01/2022 18:00

Lol. Funny how Kody changes these terms to suit. He usually refers to it as ‘her/your’ house and ‘her/your children’. Unless it’s Robyn of course, then it’s our.
@Distant01 If you have Amazon Prime you can sign up for the free trial of Discovery+ and that has all the episodes of Sister Wives.
We do thanks Izzy.
It'll be pay back time for DH binge watching Seinfeld Grin

I did read there was a tell all and the photo showed just kody and it said the interviewer was really asking tough questions!!

I have also read that the Nanny and her husband got covid!!! So non of Christine or Janelles kids got covid while working and seeing thier friends but the nanny who was following all the ‘rules’ got covid and exposed Kody and Robyn to it!!!! Laughing my ass off!!

Gnomechomsky · 24/01/2022 23:06

With what we all know now rewatch from episode 1, its a real eye opener!
Sobin has the knack of manipulating.
Knobdy was absolutely disgraceful when his son was crying and bearing his soul, he deflected blame and was to busy playing the victim.
The is a FB page for sister wives, it is very good!

Iamdobby63 · 27/01/2022 13:35

Ok I’ve seen the last episode now. Oh my goodness I wanted to hug Christine. I’m not really sure what to make of Kody, first he seemed shocked and bothered, then saying it might be a false threat, then seeming upset by it and then saying it’s a relief and he’s ambivalent and says he’s been stuck in an unhappy marriage for 20 years, then wondering where his failings are in it. I guess it’s just all the signs of a narcissist wondering how someone could not want to be with him, idk.

I couldn’t really understand the connection with the door and intimacy.

The tell all looks very interesting, might want to slap Robyn if the clip is an indication of how hers will go. Looks like Kody has some hard questions put to him, really hope it’s pointed out how he withdraws love and attention from wives and children if they aren’t behaving how Kody wants them to.

I’ve seem clips from previous seasons floating around and even though I had seem them I was surprised that even in season two Christine complained that Kody was not equal with his time and that he is only focused of Robyn’s needs and Robyn’s kids needs.

Aderyn21 · 28/01/2022 14:21

Just watched the latest UK one. He really did throw jenelle under the bus when talking to their son - absolutely no sense that he is at any fault at all!

Wonder how she feels watching that air

daisychainsandrainbows · 28/01/2022 14:32

Ahh I've found my people!

Kody is just absolutely insufferable, I'm sure he's got less and less likeable as the series have gone on. I find it really quite uncomfortable the way he treats the first three wives compare to Robyn. Meri needs to take a leaf from Christine's book and leave her loveless marriage. At least Christine seemed to have camaraderie with Janelle and her kids but Meri just appears to live a lonely life isolated from everybody, waiting for the Kody to love her again. It's tragic :(

I can completely see how sister wives could be a really positive thing. Women often thrive on each other's company and if it worked well you could have a real team to raise children together and support each other. Unfortunately though the Browns are about the worst possible example you could imagine of polygamous marriage where they all seem to hate each other and Kody is trying to force independent women to 'obey' him so he can be head of his miserable, dysfunctional family.

Ellenanora7 · 28/01/2022 17:11

Just watched the "teflon queen" episode, bloody hell, then he has a go at Gabe for saying something about his mother and Kody is "don't speak like that" double standards as usual with Kody.

I wonder if it's the beginning of the end for the family, except maybe for Robyn, an awful lot of the kids have moved away, we haven't heard a thing about Logan for a long time, wonder if he's still with his girlfriend.

I know with covid it was hard to see everyone but I wanted to see how Maddie and Caleb were since their daughter had the amputation and indeed how she was.

I don't like Mekelti and Tony but wish them well with the pregnancy.

I haven't seen the one where Christine said she was leaving but boy am I looking forward to it 😀

Ellenanora7 · 28/01/2022 17:16
@Ellenanora7 the TLC is bang up to date in that it's the same as people in the US are watching it's just that it was actually filmed a year ago so we know about Christine because she and Kody announced it.

So sorry YellowDots I never thanked you for your reply Blush

I thought Kody was totally lacking in compassion and empathy when talking to his son Gabe. The poor lad was crying and K was stony faced and of course wouldn't break his rules to give the lad a hug.
I thought it was interesting that he went to Janelle's mum's funeral but wouldn't go with his daughter for her op.

Yes that episode was painful and it’s not even that he didn’t break his covid protocol to give him a hug he didn’t even verbally reassure him! Kody doesn’t like to be criticised and disobeyed and reacts with anger and withholds love and affection.

Absolutely agree, regarding funeral and surgery. I wonder if it was because he was angry that Christine was going ahead with the surgery when Kody thought they should wait, therefore to punish them he withdrew. He broke his daughters heart and should be ashamed of himself. He could have gone even for a week and then isolated for two weeks to get back to Robyn and his ‘loyal’ children.

No one watched ‘The Beginning of the End’ episode yet?

Imworkingonit · 30/01/2022 17:45

'I'Ve seen 'The Beginning of the End'.

I found the discussion about the door to Christines's room a bit difficult to follow but I think she was saying there was no door to her bedroom (?) in the loft. Kody decided to fit the door to keep the kitten out and Christine brought up they could now shut the door and have sex. Which is when Kody said no, he never wanted to have sex with her again.

I felt that mix again of empathy for the angst as this is their LIFE but I couldn't help but feel a jolt of joy for Christine deciding enough was enough and the way she worked out what she needed and moved him out was beautiful to watch.

The disintegration of Kody carries on. I couldn't help but marvel at his disbelief she said no to him without discussion. He did set that precedent with the COVID rules after all...

And the irony of the nanny getting covid...Grin

Iamdobby63 · 30/01/2022 20:00

@ Imworkingonit I’ve noticed that Kody always wants to ‘discuss it later’ whenever there is an issue with anyone, so happy she took that initiative.

Ah yes the Nanny getting covid, I wondered whether when Robyn was saying something about it is a reminder that they shouldn’t all get together whether they would still have the Nanny back working.

Really felt for poor Christine at Ariellas birthday, she was clearly deeply uncomfortable, although I was distracted by the child’s mullet hair cut.

Imworkingonit · 30/01/2022 20:38

@ Iamdobby
Yes, although I'm big on discussions generally and actually feel sometimes it's best to spend a bit of time mulling before diving straight in. However, assuming we've seen things roughly as they actually are and in chronological order, he's the one who had a change of heart and decided authoritative was the way to go.

He took talking off the table and she's taken that on board and run with it.

I was also marvelling at Ariella's haircut. I wonder who was let loose with the scissors!

baggies · 02/02/2022 23:29

Just watched the last episode before the one to one's start.
I can't believe Kody still expected to sleep in Christine's bed after telling her it was all over intimacy wise. The sheer arrogance of that man! Love when he discovered his stuff in the garage. He was clearly shocked even though he denied it. I wonder if because Meri has stayed he thought Christine would.
So ironic the fact that the nanny got Covid even though she and her husband were following all of Kody's rules. Yeah right. The fact was he trusted/needed them more than his own family.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 02/02/2022 23:54

I love Christine and Janelle for laughing at the irony of Robins nanny getting covidGrin plus the fact she didn't know where she got it- clearly not been following the rules eh?Wink

NYnewstart · 03/02/2022 00:29

Why does robin need a nanny?

KateyKontent · 03/02/2022 01:22

@NYnewstart

Why does robin need a nanny?
I have no idea why Robyn and Kodi need an nanny. They have two parents at home and three older children, at least two of whom are over 18. Do Robyn's older children have jobs? COVID has put many relationships to the test.

The programme is called Sister Wives not Polygamous Husband. The focus should remain on the relationship between the women. I assume Christine and Janelle (my fave) will remain close.

Not keen on Meri or Robyn (Kody's fave by many miles). They are both manipulative, Robyn through tears, Meri through victimhood, self-centredness and prickly attitude. If this was not on playing out on TV she would not still be around.

Aderyn21 · 03/02/2022 06:40

Kody is so horrible to Meri though, I'm not surprised she's prickly - she's always on the edge of things, which surely goes against the whole concept of having sister wives.

Ourlady · 03/02/2022 12:20

I’ve started watching from the beginning again. Looking at Robyn now she’s like a different person from the bubbly happy vibrant woman she was when she first got involved with the family (apart from the regular crying which hasn’t changed). She is now like ya Granny with her bouffant hair and ridiculous painted eyebrows. Living a polygamous life has done nothing for her appearance.

Aderyn21 · 03/02/2022 12:36

Just watched beginning of the end. For someone who claimed to feel relief, Kody didn't look very relieved - to me he looked like someone whose bluff had been well and truly called!
I don't know what he expected Christine to do when he said he didn't want an intimate marriage.

Interesting that Christine said she used to go along with anything he wanted and now she doesn't. - she was basically Robyn then?

Aderyn21 · 03/02/2022 12:37

She looked like someone who had had a huge weight lifted.
I wonder whether Jenelle will be supportive or will side with Kody completely.

daisychainsandrainbows · 03/02/2022 13:01

@NYnewstart

Why does robin need a nanny?
This! Both parents are living there full time with no obvious jobs plus two other adult children and an older teenager. Can they really not manage two young children between them all?!
KateyKontent · 03/02/2022 13:25

The Sobbin' Robyn contingent only needed 6 tests - who was missing? Dayton? Kody said they've never done this test before. Does that mean the saliva test over the nose test? I assume they all tested before everyone came over for Ari's bday?

Of course the nanny getting COVID means Kody and Robyn agree their rules were justified and they should never have gotten together. There is no way Kody would lose face by re-evaluating his position.

Kody withdrew an intimate marriage without speaking to Christine (or threatened to. This was punishment for not behaving as he wanted or meeting his unreasonable demands. I can understand why Christine needed his things removed from HER house. I would not want to see them either .

Not sure what anyone else is getting out of being married to Kody. It doesn't feel like he is bringing financial support. Robyn was living in a trailer before joining the family She has benefited from marriage as a sister wife and is the clear favourite.
