Is anyone watching? No one I know in real life watches so I have no one to talk about it with- I'm on the current series on TLC when Kody is going all crazy paranoid about Covid

Just watched the latest episode and I'm so frustrated! Ahhhggg! How can Kody be so cold and distant to Meri? If he doesn't give a shit just say it, tell her clearly that you don't think there's any chance and you both need to move on.
He's so detached from anything she does or says, he just really doesn't care

Yeah he's so cruel. He doesn't want to lose the respect of Robyn and anyone else in the polygamy community though. He doesn't want to be the one to call of marriages, he wants the wife to end it so they're the bad ones.
Robyn is also cruelly hanging on to Meri. Let her go, it's not fair.
I'm so glad that Janelle has changed her mind finally though.

Meri watches the programme and sees what Kody is saying - he couldn't be more blunt about it. I don't understand what she's thinking.
Hopefully when she's away at her B&B more, she will find more happiness there and be able to see the Kody situation in perspective.

I'm thinking that Robyn enjoys being the favoured wife but wanted the others on scene to dilute Kody's constant presence and demanding nature,
She talks a lot about wanting the big family but I've started to think she's not being entirely truthful - if it meant that much to her, why is Meri alone so often (esp during covid) and why did she get a nanny and basically separate herself?

I agree @LadyBird1973 - I think the appointment of the nanny was something that really shocked the other 3 wives. Christine said as much, she said she was horrified that Robyn hadn't asked any of the other wives to help if Robyn was struggling. That made her realise that Robyn talks the talk about loving being a sister-wife, but she isn't actually prepared to live the life of a sister-wife.

Robyn appears to have done very well out of this arrangement - she is the sole legal wife, has her own (very big) house, paid for in part by Janelle iirc, her children were legally adopted and therefore have the rights and legal protections that Kody's biological children have. The programme has increased her income.

Robyn is a cunning manipulator. Agree she has done very well out of the hard work of others whilst stabbing them in the back with that nicey nicey fake persona. I hope the other wives do a spin off.

I just caught up. I am enjoying the other wives exposing Robin's manipulative ways. Also think Meri is playing a long-con, making it very cleat that she is not leaving Kody, and in the same breath making it clear she knows Robin is the only wife. Think she's more clever than anyone gives her credit for.

Meri has, very sensibly, kept hold of her own money and seemingly not thrown it into the family pot.

It was interesting to hear from Meri that Robyn doesn't really contact her much. They way Robyn talks I got the impression that they saw a lot of each other.

@lingmerth yes I was surprised to hear that too. I thought Robyn and Meri were super close.
I did think that after Meri heard Kody say last season that he doesn't consider them married that she'd have left by now buy maybe she was waiting it out like a pp said. It just frustrates me how Kody treats her though. I personally wouldn't be able to be so patient

Kody and Robyn completely abandoned Meri during lockdown. She was on her own and they didn't even contact her.

I think it was hard for Meri to break away because she actually does believe in the religious side of polygamy.

When you watch the early seasons Meri is so adventurous, capable and confident.

Most recent episode shows Meri on the brink of leaving and you can see how happy christine is. I do think she gets a little gleeful hearing Janelle say she doesn't want a relationship eith Kody anymore. But maybe it's because she can see that none of them are treated right anymore.

I was really surprised by how little Meri is included by Robyn, socially, given how Robyn is always banging on about wanting the big family unit and everyone all together. What Robyn says and what she does, appear to be two completely different things!

I was also thinking it was wrong for Mylelti to tell Robyn about the pregnancy before telling her own mother. I know that then you raise kids in this plural parent environment, you can't moan that your kids are close to the other wives, but even so, that was shitty imo, given how things have played out.

I hate how Aurora talks in such a pained way all the time. She's so like a mini Robyn

I wonder why Meri wasn't on the zoom call with everyone. She never mentions her child either.

I searched this thread to see if anyone knew! It was so oblique - "she doesn't...not comfortable with everyone in the family. She won't be on any other things for Mykelti and her children".

I'm not up to date so I haven't seen the zoom call yet. But Janelle and Christine have both said they don't want any relationship at all with Meri.

And Meri's child doesn't want anything to do with Sister Wives the TV programme so it's likely that nobody is allowed to mention her at all on the show. She's on Instagram and she posts photos of her with Meri. She was at Gwendolyn's wedding.

I feel sorry for Meri.

I really like Meri too. It must be so hard seeing everybody on that family having someone, but her. It's good that she kept property in her own name and had the sense not to throw too much of it at Robyn!

I think there's a lot this show doesn't discuss.

Meri keeps saying she snd Kody haven't had 'that discussion' (until their recent anniversary)- how she could have held on to the idea that they could eventually reconcile after (presumably) seeing the shows - though obviously it's not broadcast until months after filming. And why does Robyn still believe that 'given enough time' Kody will see Meri in a romantic way? She has been encouraging Meri but it must be so blatantly obvious to even her dim mind this is never going to happen.
And Kody still wants to reconcile with Janelle? He's so so slowly getting the idea that she is gone in all ways that count. I guess the financial side is holding her back. Christine should never have been a Sister Wife - despite her background she was always jealous. But her snd Janelle had all the kids at about the same time so no wonder they are close and are now still in a (even better as no Kody) Sister Wife relationship.
Janelle is my favourite wife and the one I most relate to. Meri frustrates me. Christine was always too jealous and not a team player. Robyn... I think she's just not that smart or is determinedly naive. She came in late and as she was not in a polygamous marriage before (am I right?) didn't really understand it on a practical level and as the other wives were long term, the 'romance' was pretty much over and being with Robyn was thrilling for Kody.
It's a shame about him and his kids though. He is s ruining their relationships by being so stubborn. Mind you the boys did not behave that well over lockdown either but in America the rules were very different than here in a lot of places.

All they did is go to work/army training and one of them continued to see his girlfriend.

The entire falling out was because Janelle and the boys were following the actual lockdown rules and Kody wanted them to follow his own over the top rules. He told Janelle to throw them out of their house - in a pandemic because they wouldn't do what he said.

In the meantime, Meri did everything he said and he didn't see her at all.

Meri seems the saddest of the wives. She divorced Kody so he could marry Robyn. Big mistake. It was a shame Meri couldn't have more children. This was discussed in an early episode. I blame Robyn for most of the problems. She didn't play by the rules.

And she's the one who brought her in.

I just hope she comes out the other end, like Christine has, and realised that Kody is a liar and a dick.

Be funny if Robyn and Kody go pear shaped. It would be karma. She wouldn't like it if he took another wife. Wouldn't put it past him. She's get a taste of her own medicine.
