Has Jamie Dornan as a man who finds himself in Australia with amnesia trying to piece together who is trying to kill him. Has been likened to the film Memento with Guy Pearce. Looks promising.

I loved mad dogs, then we stopped having Sky and missed all the second seasons!

Pythian · 02/01/2022 21:10

Ok, but whhhyyy would you not call the police in Murray wherever it is, and tell them there's a bloke buried somewhere near a waterfall, instead of setting off on a four hour drive and trusting that he'll survive that long?

TheSpottedZebra · 02/01/2022 21:31

I think it's a 'theyre all in on it' thing.

Also, in ep 1, he took the loo key but didn't hand it back. It fell out of his crashed car. But then the shop man didn't mention the stolen key but yet he had it back, or one that had exactly the same wooden fob.

sashagabadon · 02/01/2022 21:32

It’s a wee bit Twin Peaks as well. I thought Bob was going to appear when the police woman was staring in the mirror! Just waiting for a random woman carrying a log to appear Grin

TheSpottedZebra · 02/01/2022 21:33

Icelandic man was also in Eurovision the Story of Fire Saga (or whatever it is called), which was excellently silly.

MajesticWhine · 02/01/2022 21:36

I didn't think he stole the key for the loo Confused

NatashaBedwouldbenice · 02/01/2022 21:37

No, I thought he returned the key.

purpleme12 · 02/01/2022 21:48

I'm 25 minutes into first episode and feel like I'm watching a horror film
Don't want to watch something like that so I'll stop now

If it’s not your thing then turn it off as it gets worse and you won’t like it!
CovidCorvid · 02/01/2022 21:54

Iceland guy was also in The Widow which was on tv a few years ago. The one set in Africa with Kate Beckinsale.

hopeishere · 02/01/2022 21:54

What did he see on the clipboard??

MajesticWhine · 02/01/2022 21:55

Just Luci's signature I think. Maybe sparked a memory?

purpleme12 · 02/01/2022 21:57

@Lifeispassingby thank you for the warning, I'll turn it off!

sashagabadon · 02/01/2022 21:59

It was Lucia’s writing on the note he found in his trousers that had the date/ time to meet in the cafe where the bomb went off.
And where she works

FlyingFlamingo · 02/01/2022 21:59

Dh and I both said at the same time about Icelandic man’s mum

‘Maybe she’s Miss Rabbit’

Where did they get the money to pay for the helicopter?

Cocoabutterformula · 02/01/2022 22:01

Ooooh it's good isn't it! It's very Australian I must say!

LadyEloise1 · 02/01/2022 22:03

Who paid for the helicopter ?

lljkk · 02/01/2022 22:04

I'm sure amnesia-Irishman handed the key back in episode 1... I just watched that & episode 2. I am loving Helen. Hope she dumps the fiance. I do find their relationship credible.

I don't like Luci being so much younger than No Name, but hey ho. That's drama for you.

Lanique · 02/01/2022 22:10

Just watched the first three episodes.

I think it's dire. The acting is dreadful and the characters are weird. And I think it tries to be funny at times, but fails.

Yes, I hate gratuitous age differences like this in TV couples. Granted, Jamie looks younger than his age, but still.

Im loving this. Very atmospheric and a stark contrast to all the cosy Christmas TV we've been watching.

The Big Beardy man is absolutely terrifying!

EsmaCannonball · 03/01/2022 00:01

I love the Coen Brothers so I'm not enjoying seeing the Coen Brothers done a bit half-arsed. They haven't managed to strike the right tone. The Coens can pull off darkness coming to a small town of decent yet zany people with aplomb, but I feel this needed to decide whether it was a thriller or an offbeat comedy-drama and settle on one. It doesn't help that the main guy and the young woman from the cafe seem rather flat characters compared with the wacky cast around them.

Piggywaspushed · 03/01/2022 06:51

On ITV at the same time was Anne. It was a tour de force. It's a shame it was put up against the Tourist but that's January for you. Watch on catch up.
