Not watching this year but the last couple have been pretty dire. It jumped the shark a while ago. Shame as I loved it.

There's an hour to go so time for it to pick up, fingers crossed!

All I always enjoy the commentary on here, especially about the Turner family

Do I need to watch the last season (aired in April - still got it on my planner to watch) before the Xmas special? I’ve never found the motivation for the last series.

Was so lovely to see Phyllis remembering Barbara, and Lucille's dress was absolutely stunning, so beautiful.

Very obvious social distancing amongst the cast on this one;it looked abit strange in parts but it is what it is.

All those great actors, costumes and all that money...a severe lack of drama, emotional insight or anything really at all from the writers.

Some lovely humerus bits and I lived the rum being added to the punch!

Great bit about traditions and showing how cultures began to mix back them. Remember this was the days where pubs banned "blacks and Irish".

Loved the introduction to the gangster world but the other side of the story and the true love.

Also interesting about introducing jerkin addicted babies and very touching bit about the Turners not knowing Mays background and her being a heroine addicted baby.

We have a family member born addicted to alcohol (adopted into the family). These stories are sad but important to show.

I knew a lady who fostered newborn babies addicted to heroin... I never want to hear the cry they made again as long as I live... 😢 😢 😢 😢 😢 😢

They were so much better in the past. Look at the Christmas special of - I think - series 2. Oh come oh come Emmanuel- I properly cried.

I liked it. I was crying within 5 minutes.

There was a very competitive scrabble match going on at the same time in our house, and the tension was definitely heightened by screeching babies.
