New 4 part drama starting tomorrow night

Jane and Emma move into a rental that is an opportunity of a lifetime

It’s is a luxury Ultra minimalist pad

As long as they answer ledwards - the landlords strange questions and follows the rules that he sets ……….

Remember - if it is too good to be true then it probably is

@Blondeshavemorefun

Yes the stairs are lethal

Plus if someone fell down them , surely you would make them safer

But I’m going with that he pushed her

Wouldn't that be a bit of a non-story?

There has to be something more. I'm wondering if Edward is even guilty at all? He's clearly a creep but that doesn't necessarily mean he killed Emma, or his wife. Doesn't there have to be some sort of twist? Otherwise it's not really much of a story.

longwayoff · 22/12/2021 15:49

I'm very critical of TV dramas, especially those with graphic depictions of violated women, however, I've enjoyed the slow pace of this and for me, it's been successfully creepy without being equally revolting. So, at last, tonight I'll have managed a whole series without giving up exasperated or sickened.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/12/2021 16:59

He's clearly a creep but we know that from the start.

I just think there has to be a twist or two in store. Otherwise there's not much to it. I guess we'll soon find out!

Yes, might be something going on there.

Generally, when a TV show insists on focussing on a character when there's no obvious narrative need for it, there's a reason.

Enjoying it so far. Though very distracted by the fact there's no way either women could fit all of their AMAZING clothes in the tiny wardrobe...

the80sweregreat · 22/12/2021 20:35

No cushions ? Not for me !
Plus a lack of bannister too !!

Majoritycustody · 22/12/2021 21:10

Sorry to be dim but who was she giving the blow job too ? She wasn't raped or she was but is scared to say who it was ?

Jellykat · 22/12/2021 21:20

She so needs to LTB!! Why is she sticking around, come on now..

Hotyogahotchoc · 22/12/2021 21:25

She was giving the blow job go friends partner I think

OP he still wakes every couple of hours! He's 6 months old. A week or so ago he slept nearly six hours at night. First time he's slept that long. Now getting up every 1-3 hours again. Could be partly as he's not well. Other mums I know are sleep training but I'm not doing that yet.

Jellykat · 22/12/2021 21:29

How can Simon say call me if you see Edward acting suspiciously? its his house Confused

UglyModernWindows · 22/12/2021 22:08

I really enjoyed it! I liked the slower pace. My DH guessed the twist.

Bonkers rules aside, I loved the house. I found the interior very calming and cosy. I'd add some cushions and rugs though.

Personally I think Ben Hardy is fitttt Xmas Blush

IcedPurple · 22/12/2021 22:10

Well, I was right in that Edward didn't turn out to be the bad guy, but wrong in that it was Simon! He did seem to be getting a lot of screen time however, which always makes me suspicious.

My verdict is it was good but not great. Bit of a thin storyline and no real suspense or intrigue.

the80sweregreat · 22/12/2021 22:12

I like Ben Hardy too , but he was horrible in this!

2Rebecca · 22/12/2021 22:16

Simon was controlling at the beginning. I didn't suspect him then as Edward seemed far weirder. I did suspect him by the end of Ep 3 though when he was hanging around being over helpful too much. Surprised she couldn't ask the house to phone the police and that the door control wasn't changed when Simon left. Think Jane dodged a bullet with Edward. Still odd she seems to have no friends or family or expartner of baby no 1

IcedPurple · 22/12/2021 22:18

Jane's baby is a little boy?

wishingitwasspring · 22/12/2021 22:26

Can someone explain the pearls please? How did Edward give them both the same ones?

purpleme12 · 22/12/2021 22:30

I've watched episode one and two and so far i can't understand the women i mean i can't understand why they would be attracted towards Edward in the first place and why they would be drawn towards him neither can i understand why would be attracted to the house. And i would expect that at the least the man would be mesmerising or charming or charismatic or draw us in somehow but that's not happening and he's just creepy (even before he started saying creepy things to them)

I agree.

I didn't find any of the characters or situations convincing. I get that it probably wasn't meant to be realistic, but still.

The idea that an intelligent, very 'together' woman like Jane would continue living in that house, and spending time alone with Edward when she suspected him of having killed Emma, is absurd.

Oh, and why did the therapist warn Jane against Edward when he turns out to have been innocent?

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/12/2021 22:39

Oh. Didn't expect that twist !!!

Simon !!!

Those stairs are lethal !!!!

Must be fun to demolish /vandalise a room

Glad wasn't Edward. Tho he was a bit strange but maybe death of two people he loves does that to a person

Glad Jane decided to tell the truth

Now they def needed to move house as stairs very dangerous for any children

Tho I was confused. Edward said they would have a child that was planned

So did she lose the baby. I missed that bit

Sad to make Jane lose 2 babies :(

So the therapist then helped Edward

So was she actually preg and lied or had a 3rd baby that lived

But I thought a very good drama. Kept us guessing to the end
