Just finished episode one and need to talk about it!!!

Didn't like much of the episode to be honest. But the ending! I'm floored! Was not expecting that.

I was questioning the decision to show it on Sky Comedy

I think I read a theory that Natashaaybhave had a secret child by Big ?

Wouldn't a Big and Natasha love child be hard to hide if N was still living in NY? Carrie being a semi celebrity and them moving in similar social /gossipy circles and all. Unless N followed him to LA to try to rekindle their marriage, got pregnant whilst there and then stayed there when he moved back to NY? Or moved back to Paris where she and Big first met.

Speaking of Paris, I wonder if Alexandr Petrovsky will put in an appearance?

I did find Carrie’s funeral outfit interesting, especially her bag.

Her bag was a jewelled hand held rigid clutch, pretty similar to one Big gave her early in the relationship. One she hated because it represented everything she was not.

Whilst the dress, with it’s leotard too and ballerina skirt was an upscale version of the tutu from the old opening credits.

All of this. The 'wokeness' was far too over the top and pushed way too much. Do people really have conversations like this? I get it's to be more in tune with equality and representation etc by it was Rammed down our throats a bit I felt

Yes I clocked the clutch bag too! And yy thanks for pointing out the the tutu funeral outfit! It's also a darker variation of the strappy top/tutu green ballerina dress she was wearing when Big found her in Paris.

I don't know why they couldn't leave it at 'she's in London for work' that would have been enough I think

I'm still not sure whether they are embracing the wokeness or poking fun at it for being a fucking ridiculous minefield. I don't know why Che thinks anyone would be confused over her sex. Her podcast is crass and embarrassing, her fellow host a revolting slob, not people to be admired. Miranda worrying about whether or not she's being an ally or a white saviour is straight out of Robin DiAngelo. However, her instinct to just help when her tutor was being mugged was described as "old school" - i.e., the normal, human reaction of someone who is essentially a good person, even if she doesn't always get her bloody pronouns correct.

The Samantha comments were awful, I agree they could have just had her working abroad. She had previously moved to LA to work as Smith's publicist after all, why not let her be doing something similar in London without the contrived story that is just a spiteful swipe at Kim Catrall?

Going on about sending Sam messages - when we know SJP sent messages to KC when the latter's brother died and KC asked SJP to leave her alone - was just distasteful. Couple that with the Carrie character also reacting to the Sam character contacting her over Big's death, and being gracious about something Carrie didn't want (Sam's gesture of flowers), it felt like a pointed telling off of KC and her reaction to SJP reaching out when KC suffered her real life loss.

The idea that Sam (publicist to Hollywood stars) would care that Carrie (a minor author) no longer needed a publicist for very real economic reasons, and threw away a 35 year friendship because of it, is ridiculous. I think if they did hope to persuade KC back, going down this route has probably put the kibosh on it.

The music is good

I wonder if in the “stack of papers” Joey’s mum mentioned, in here’s an old will that names Natasha and maybe even his first wife but doesn’t mention Carrie.

So she moves back to old apartment, hustles for more work etc. But miraculously in the last episode Joey’s mum, Saint Louise style, reorganises Big’s files or deal before retiring and finds the new will Big made which gives Carrie her rightful place as main heir.

Also what about frozen embryos with Natasha rather than a love child? And Natasha goes to court over them.

There are so many great ideas here, I don't think it can get better on the show!

Apparently Peloton shares are down and they were asked to be in it but didn't know the detail of the storyline. I did think it was an odd choice for publicising your brand, unless they're all going to get one in later episodes.

I don't think they could have just left it as Sam was in London for work ,in this day and age we have face time and zoom ,etc if it had just been left ,I would have expected them to have regular zoom meeting,s

They could have kept it current and said she ghosted them but they didn't know why really
