Just finished episode one and need to talk about it!!!

Didn't like much of the episode to be honest. But the ending! I'm floored! Was not expecting that.

Totally think she will catch Che in bed with someone.

MagdaTrudy · 21/01/2022 17:56

@tvcc

They started smashing walls down but Carrie stopped it. I'm upto the episodes (again) where she's dating Aidan, and Big has reappeared 'unhappy' with Natasha.

BitcherOfBlakiven · 21/01/2022 18:03

Big with Natasha really fucks me off - making out like he’s miserable and didn’t want to get married. The same man who wouldn’t let Carrie keep a few items in his apartment was apparently dragged into marriage? Was he, aye.

Lottapianos · 21/01/2022 18:15

'Big with Natasha really fucks me off - making out like he’s miserable and didn’t want to get married'

He was a TOTAL dickhead. Yes ok, Carrie ended up with him but so what?! I'm with Susan Sharon at the funeral - 'am I the only one who remembers what a prick he was to her?'

Xyzzzzz · 21/01/2022 18:19

I don’t care if Miranda and Steve split but she cheated and Miranda would never especially after Steve did it her.

DaggerIsle · 21/01/2022 18:56

As mentioned in the other thread I've never found Steve attractive but IRL he is more attractive now than he was 20 years ago.

GreenClock · 21/01/2022 23:34

I’m surprised Miranda and Steve have lasted two decades tbh. She always seemed very fond of him but was it ever real love? I think she felt unsettled when Brady was little and Steve began a relationship with the lovely Debbie, and confused jealousy with love. Contrast with Carrie’s feelings for Big which were so very deep despite his failings.

EachandEveryone · 21/01/2022 23:41

I want Debbie to come back

@VodselForDinner

Woah Harry.

Charlotte annoyed me with Lily. Why is Lily expressing her definition of her gender identity an issue, but not Rose?

They're not the same thing at all.

Lily is starting to express a more sexual side of herself.
Rose/Rock is trying to express their gender.

One is an identity thing whereas the other is something that almost all parents of girls would be concerned about....and boys too especially if they were gay as they would be worried about the type of attention they might attract...especially from older boys or men!

Rose/Rock at the moment has simply said they are non-binary, they haven't started to express their sexuality or post things that could be seen to be sexually provocative.

dayswithaY · 22/01/2022 07:58

I loved this week's episode so much, Carrie in her "Mille feuille" dress, sitting in the window was perfection. Although I am surprised they used that dress as it was from her time in Paris with the Russian which has negative connotations but, whatever.

My heart aches for Steve, he was so gentle and broken. I don't buy that the others would be so casual when Miranda told them she was leaving Steve, no one mentioned Brady or his feelings. Carrie and Charlotte have known Steve for years, they would have some sadness for him, they would feel some concern for Miranda giving up everything for Che.

I did actually start to like Che when they walked away from Miranda, I liked that they didn't want to cheat with a married woman. But a massive clue was when Che said "I don't do conventional ". That means they won't want to settle down in a cosy exclusive relationship with you Miranda!

I hated Miranda in the cab, so uncaring and oblivious to the hurt she has caused, Steve did not deserve that. Again, no thoughts as to Brady and sticking around to explain the new situation to him?

I really hope she doesn't get a happy ever after with Che as that would be completely unrealistic and twee. Che would be having their pick of hot young things not hanging out with Miranda (who can't walk in wedges, never noticed that before!)

Never seen so much of Carrie's hallway before, and the apartment seems lighter, airier more like a loft. New young neighbour was in Betty, if anyone has seen that.

The show seems to have grown into itself, calmed down on the issues and scaled back the very annoying new characters to make it more about the three women and their lives, just as we are coming to the end.

Youdoyoutoday · 22/01/2022 12:18

It is odd that Charlotte and carrie seem to be so casual about miranda leaving Steve and not one question about Brady! Though I doubt Brady would even notice, he only seem to care where his penis is!
I hope miranda is in for a shock with Che, I don't want them having a happy ever after.

When is aiden appearing?? I hope him and carrie don't get back together.

Andylion · 22/01/2022 16:21

Has it been confirmed that Aiden is returning?

KillingMeDeftly · 22/01/2022 16:29

Apparently so, John Corbett confirmed it, although the article is from last year so maybe things have changed. If he does reappear then I'm guessing it won't be until the last episode and there will be some sort of cliffhanger involved.

user1481840227 · 22/01/2022 16:49

Miranda and Steve have already went to therapy twice and went through this multiple times so all the chats about Brady etc. would have happened a long time ago.

People often don't want to end relationships for years because of their kids...so if a friend of mine finally bit the bullet I wouldn't be bringing up their kids unless they did because I wouldn't want to encourage them to stay after they've made their decision and took a step to move forward. That's just not fair.

I don't agree with how Miranda went about it initially though.

Andylion · 22/01/2022 17:14

Thanks, @KillingMeDeftly

Jourdain11 · 23/01/2022 14:05

Just a thought - about the debate on Miranda being bisexual rather than now a lesbian. Surely she's actually pansexual, since Che is non-binary?

Che is female. Bisexual means attracted to both sexes. She might call herself pansexual but since there are only two sexes it's a meaningless term.

I don't believe that our sexuality labels work that way.

I'm straight, if Jason Momoa suddenly said he identified as a woman that wouldn't make me bisexual!!!

Youdoyoutoday · 23/01/2022 15:49

Sorry @Andylion haven't been back here since I posted.

As @KillingMeDeftly said, it easier rumoured he would be, even confirmed by JC.

However, I'm not sure I want him back in it to get back with Carrie as it would be like oh well the only man she would ever cheat on me with is dead so now I know she won't cheat. Its a bit Hmm

Jourdain11 · 23/01/2022 18:18

Not disputing the fact that there are only 2 biological sexes, and that SR is quite clearly a biological woman, whatever their gender identity. But if Miranda is attracted to Che, who identifies as gender non-binary, my understanding is still that this would make her (theoretically) pansexual.

Not necessarily, Miranda might not see Che as non-binary, she could see Che as all woman. Or Miranda could feel like Che is masculine and more like a man, Miranda could see and attribute a certain gender to Che regardless of what Che identifies as.
furryleopard · 23/01/2022 19:30

For me with Miranda it's the speed of everything. I think if they'd focused on Steve's hearing loss and the challenges associated there is maybe Steve would need to consider stepping back at bit in his business and was struggling to move into retirement at a relatively young age, plus the quietening of their relationship especially with Brady going off to college and suddenly they're back to just them as a couple after 18 years or whatever, combined with Miranda getting a new spark from her uni course (which she's forgotten about) and being around others especially younger people with a fire like she used to have, then had her growing closer to Che or a similar character perhaps at university, I could maybe, just maybe, have bought it all. But as it is it's just been so badly written that it's totally unbelievable.

Wanderingowl · 24/01/2022 00:19

Pansexual isn't a sexuality. It's either a virtue signalling bisexual who wants you to know how extra special they are or a type of sexual preference within the sexuality of one of the three sexualities. Because a heterosexual woman who has only ever been with men and has sex with a NB identifying male, is still heterosexual but can call themselves pansexual. Or a homosexual woman who has only ever been with women and NB identifying females is still homosexual but could still claim to be pansexual. Miranda's sexuality, as someone who so far has only been with men and a NB identifying female, is bisexual as she is sexually attracted to both sexes.

Maintaining that pansexuality is a sexuality is actually bi-erasure. And lets be honest, bisexuals were subject to far more than enough of that even before this gender identity trend took off. So it would be great if we didn't give so much credence to something that can not be a sexuality. Miranda can call herself pan is she wants but that's just a descriptor within her bisexuality. Even Che for all her faults, straight up describes herself as bisexual whenever she talks about he sexuality.

ChChCherryCola · 24/01/2022 06:53

Didn't realise Che had declared to be bisexusl. That's good then. The term pansexuality irritates the shit out of me. It's bisexusl. One person's gender identity does not dictate another person's sexuality. Gender identity isn't tangible. Sex is.

Lottapianos · 24/01/2022 08:04

Read on Twitter some time ago:
'Im bisexual' = I'm attracted to both sexes
'Im pansexual' = I'm bisexual AND pretentious
