More Corrie ‘excitement’…

I can totally relate to abi. The evil bastard who murdered my dd lived on the same street as my sister. I seriously thought about paying someone to do him in I knew someone who would have done it. I was consumed by hatred.
Knowing Corrie they will be best friends in a couple of months.

TheVolturi · 28/12/2021 09:51

Is Phil dodgy do we think?

StEval · 28/12/2021 10:06

@TheVolturi

Is Phil dodgy do we think?
I think so. Hes after Fiz giving him money to buy a house. Red flags flying-lovebombing Fiz, the girls and his domineering mother. Sad face as he cant get the house he wantsHmm Come on Evelyn, talk some sense into Fiz NOW!
Juletide · 28/12/2021 10:44

I hadn't considered that Phil might be dodgy, but you make a good case StEval

Honeygoldcaramel · 28/12/2021 10:51

Flowers @ParkheadParadise

It’s completely ridiculous Kelly is living next to the mother of the boy she helped kill and with the girl who’s life she tried to ruin.

JacquelineCarlyle · 28/12/2021 10:51

I really hope Phil isn't dodgy!

Spidey66 · 28/12/2021 10:59

@ParkheadParadise so sorry to hear that. I can't imagine how difficult that must have been.

I think we're in for some further storylines regarding Abi which I won't discuss but the spoilers are in the cover of the tv magazines.

I would bet my own house that Phil isn't as perfect as he seems. Poor Fizz, after John Stape as well!

eggandonion · 28/12/2021 11:16

Can Tyrone not demand that Roobeh stays with him and his nana? Im sure Adam or Imran will advise that the deeds are nothing to do with fizz. I think Alina needs to return and add to the drama.

Deadringer · 28/12/2021 11:34

I hope Phil isn't dodgey, he is a good character and he can actually act. If they are going to break up i hope it's because of normal stuff, too much over hyped drama going on already.

Honeygoldcaramel · 28/12/2021 11:37

As soon as it was proposed Fiz left the street, I knew Phil was flawed!

StEval · 28/12/2021 11:43

The whole thing with his mum is a pretty good clue to a flawed character.
MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry · 28/12/2021 11:46

It’s so weird how much of a personality change Phil had the instant his mum turned up. Now he’s a buffoon just like Tyrone.

TellingBone · 28/12/2021 11:59

Yes indeed. I doubt the way the storyline appears to be going is how it was originally planned so perhaps they've had to change his personality to accommodate it.

Are Daniel and Daisy a couple now? I've lost the plot with those two a bit. If so I don't know how it would work since she appears to view Bertie as some sort of accessory.

ParkheadParadise · 28/12/2021 12:17

IF Phil turns out to be dodgy you just know Craig will be there to arrest him.

StEval · 28/12/2021 12:25

@ParkheadParadise

Arrest him? I was thinking more along the lines of lovebombing, move in together too soon,ott with the girls, then when shes trapped Phil reveals his true character as a selfish arsehole. I think the overbearing mother was to indicate he isnt what he seems. The whole boohoo I cant buy the fancy house was designed to manipulate Fiz and now shes after selling the house to move in with a bloke shes known 5 minutes.Hmm If its too good to be true etc
mycatisannoying · 28/12/2021 12:44

Abi is never going to be able to live a functional life. She's too much of a car crash at the best of times.

CoolShoeshine · 28/12/2021 12:47

Seriously hope Phil’s not dodgy, he’s a good character and Fizz is much better with him than Tyrone. I also like how Phil and Tyrone are reluctantly pally, a bit like the dynamic between Kevin and Tim when Tim and Sally first got together.
However, let’s face it, Corrie characters don’t move to the country so Phil could well be dodgy and then Tyrone and Fizz will be able to go full circle and get back together. I’d prefer it though if Phil just bought Tyrone out of the house and then they could live there with the girls and Tyrone live in a flat, eventually to settle down with someone else.

WomanStanleyWoman · 28/12/2021 13:17

Merry Christmas everyone! Xmas Smile

I feel like I’ve neglected the Corrie thread over Christmas. Blame my parents - they’ve stopped watching, so I haven’t been able to have it on Sad Back at my own place now, so am fully caught up.

I really enjoyed the Christmas Day episode, although I agree with @MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry that they could have done more with the Platt-Barlow dinner. Tracy not being there was a major loss. Drink Audrey is always good value though Grin

I can’t see where the Kelly storyline is going. It seems like we’re back to square one - she’ll go back on the streets, probably back to the drugs… and the problem of her and Abi on the same street doesn’t go away if she comes back. All I can think of is that Kelly gets heavily into drugs, Abi recognises something of herself in her and ends up being her unwilling saviour. My eyes are rolling somewhat at the prospect…

Phill is obviously going to turn out to be a bad ’un, which is a shame - Tyrone will obviously end up rescuing Fiz, which will lead to them reuniting. It would actually be pretty refreshing to show that Fiz has options and that, if she does go back to Tyrone, it’s an active choice rather than through a sense of gratitude.

Phils mum is going to be moving in to the Goat Mansion isn't she. And Fizz doesn't know that yet. Oh no, don't sell that house Ty.

WomanStanleyWoman · 28/12/2021 13:27

@eggandonion

Did Jack and Vera leave the house to Tyrone, and there was a complication with their Terry, or their Terrys son? Mumsnet often warns against women who are not married, and property rights. I fear for the goat.
Tyrone and Molly bought the house from Jack and Vera so that they could retire to Blackpool and be near Our Tommy. Then Vera pegged it before they could go, so Jack stayed on.

When Jack died he left Tyrone some money, but Terry used Our Tommy to emotionally blackmail Tyrone into lending him the money. Terry did a bunk with the cash, of course. Then Kirsty forced Tommy into paying back the money, which is how Tina ended up being a surrogate for Gary and Izzy. Complicated innit? Grin

I’m glad Dev said what he did last night. I don’t get why everyone else is pussy footing around Kelly and sympathising with her, telling dev to go easy on her. She may just be 16 but she is not a young 16 who just made a silly mistake, she is a nasty girl who has been a nasty bully for years and her behaviour has come back on her- these are the direct consequences of her choices. People have been extremely kind and forgiving to get. She has been given a home with the girlfriend of her victim, that is also her victim. she has been given a job on the street. And yet she is whingeing about how she wishes Abby could just hate her “a bit less”! Really? At least have the decency to blush when you say that Kelly. Do the decent thing and leave Abby to her grief without the torture of seeing you everywhere she goes. Imran is a wet lettuce. How on earth he could ever be deemed a suitable foster parent, let alone a barrister Hmm when he is so clearly terrified of any confrontation.

MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry · 28/12/2021 13:30

What?? How? Explain that to me Grin!

Thanks for asking, so I didn't have to!
