Just thinking about Rhys looking so tired - do you think there’s ever an element of “sounding out” the celebs as to whether they’d want to be saved if it came to the Dance Off? I suppose it couldn’t be done without being leaked.

SoSobored · 22/11/2021 10:00

Back to Rhys - but he's limbs seem to be all gangly and odd

Anyway - I wonder if some of the dances will be more difficult for Rose - Gio has really humbled this year, because he was becoming a cocky sod. Has she done the dances side by side?

@VittysCardigan I love the idea that each ball is a different colour for each dance

StormyCornishSeas · 22/11/2021 10:18

If Dans popular it will be interesting to see how his ex sidekick Louise will fair in I'm a Celeb

SoupDragon · 22/11/2021 11:28

I think Rhys was genuinely knackered after that fast jive. Plus, he had to do it twice - I hope he got a day off!

IntermittentParps · 22/11/2021 11:52

I am so pleased Dan got through. That Charleston was charming, so characterful. Considering he was a total non-dancer it's amazing what he's doing now.

I thought Tom deserved to go. Sorry Tom but you're dull. No emotion. Interesting that Shirl would have saved him.
Rhys was wild as ever. The dance was more rock n roll than jive.
AJ beautiful.
Rose charming.
J&J I agree with the judges he's dancing a bit 'safe' and needs to really surprise us now.
Didn't really like Tilly's dance but I'm glad she's through; I like her and Nikita.

I think it's Rose's to lose now really.

SoupDragon · 22/11/2021 12:02

I find it interesting that you criticise Tom for having no emotion yet support Dan who shows zero emotion at all.

I didn't much like either of them TBH!

Me? For me, Tom was flat emotionally in his dance (in contrast to the VT when he was speaking naturally), whereas Dan in his dance, IMO, exuded enthusiasm and love for the dance and embodied the spirit of the Charleston.

The judges too seemed to perceive a lack of emotion in Tom's performance and a presence of it in Dan's.

In my view, Dan has had further to go to get to where he is. Tom has acted from what he said so could be expected to be better. I’m ready for Dan to go next.

Love it! I needed a laugh this morning Grin
Direct link to youtube if anyone else hasn't seen in yet

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 22/11/2021 12:35

Loved that.

How could you ever forget Katya bobbing away on Ed Balls?

TitsInAbsentia · 22/11/2021 12:35

Also this is old but I stumbled across it this morning...

It's really interesting how people get completely opposite impressions from the same dance!

Indeed!
MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 22/11/2021 14:20

Tom was definitely better in the DO.

Samcro · 22/11/2021 14:29

i wish they would give Rhys a slow dance. one where he actually dances with his partner. to me he always looks likes he is dancing on his own.

Pashazade · 22/11/2021 14:34

Re Samba being the dance of death, they discussed the stats on ITT the other week (during Manrara's MasterClass) and it is the dance in which people are most likely to leave!
I'm hoping an alternate choreographer for the AT may make a change for J&J, he does need to up his game now, much as I love them.

My thoughts too.
TitsInAbsentia · 22/11/2021 16:05

Series 1, week 5, they all did the samba Grin in fact I'd forgotten that there was some sense to the dances people did (ie you did the foxtrot or the tango, far easier to compare abilities)...when did we lose that?!

We lost it some time ago. I think when the production high-ups changed? I think it makes no sense how they do it now and it's less satisfying to watch; you need to be able to meaningfully compare performances and you can't do that with something like a samba vs a VW.
DeegeeDee · 22/11/2021 16:27

Just catching up and reading all the comments.

Didnt watch live so Comes through it but did anyone see Johannes give John a little nose touch when sitting down? Very tender moment. Can't remember whose performance was being discussed, sorry.

When did Arlene have her face done, just seen the beginning of IACGMOOH.

SunshineCake1 · 22/11/2021 17:43

I was just thinking didn't all the group just do two dances so it was easy to see who was better? Definitely seems the fairest way and make relevant to the audience.

ChessieFL · 22/11/2021 18:05

I’m glad they don’t all do the same dances. I agree that it would be easier to compare, but I like the variety of having all the different dances, so if there’s one style I don’t like it’s not the end of the world because a style I do like will be along soon. I know most people on this thread disagree with me though!!

SunshineCake1 · 22/11/2021 18:17

It's a good point, @ChessieFL.

SequinsandStiIettos · 22/11/2021 18:19

I do prefer the variety myself but what I don't like is slebs sometimes having a better 'draw' or actively avoiding dances (rumba/samba/waltz).
As long as a finalist has done an equal balance fair enough, and I appreciate a cannier pro may have requested a certain combination: for example, me, I'd absolutely leave a speciality dance or two for when they have to learn two styles...less to choreograph.
