Well she was a McFly fangirl during the height of their fame so wouldn't we all be like that if we later met our schoolgirl crushes? Although I wiuld be surprised if her favourite member of the band was Tom - he wasn't really the best looking of the 4 of them

My prediction - Tilly has a Samba Of Doom next week which will probably be the end of her.

Dan is going to do a Chris Ramsay and survive to the semi-finals when he will go out against John.

Does anyone remember what dance Rhys is doing next? I feel like he needs a slow ballroom so he can be 'tested' - for ages he's been given all the dances that suit his frenetic energy.

Rhys is a lovely young man, I think ill vote for him next week, I don't think he deserved to be in the dance off.

Here's an interesting experiment though...without looking them up or working out which dances they have done to remind you, how many of the nine routines all the couples have done can you remember straight off the top of your head?

I’m an older viewer. I know full well who McFly are. I watch BBC Breakfast and I’ve never been that keen on Dan. However, his personality has blossomed on Strictly. He came from zero dance performance experience, and he’s had one of those “journeys” everyone loves to talk about. On the other hand, Tom went to performing arts school, he’s used to performing on stage, yet he hasn’t really progressed and he’s a bit dull.

Really hoped the dance off would be Dan and Tilly, but guessed it wasn't likely.

Wouldn't we all be like that if we later met our schoolgirl crushes?
God, yes. I'd say I cannot imagine Morten Harket doing Strictly, but then again, he did do The Masked Singer...

@BitterTits - just catching up with this and the previous thread! The band on Dan's arm is a shirt garter which would be used to adjust the length of the shirt sleeve. I vaguely remember my Dad having some that had belonged to his father which would have been from the 1920s.

Sleeve garters made a comeback around the time double cuff shirts and cufflinks came back in a big way around 20 years ago.

I like Dan, I'm not elderly and I'm voting for others who are better dancers.

I don't get why some people say Dan is smug, arrogant or think he's better than he is. This is the sort of thing that people say to justify their dislike for someone. His reaction after his ne was announced was gracious and he wished the others luck.

I was prepared for him to go out this week to be honest but don't mind that he's been saved again.

I agree. I don't dislike Dan, but have not been voting for him. But I enjoyed his dance this week and the improvement he's shown since the start is wonderful! I am happy he is still in.

Very happy Tom has left though. A man with no soul or much character in my eyes. Kept on forgetting him. Every. Single. Week!!

I don’t like Dan. Something about him creeps me out. I think all that earnest sincerity is fake.

@SmellyOldOwls - surely you’ll wait until you’ve seen the dances & vote for who you prefer on the night?! Or frankly, we may as well not bother with the dances & just have a straight personality contest 🙈 who is the nicest & most respectful? Dan or Rhys?

@TheMadGardener - I’m thinking much the same actually! AJ & Rose will be straight into the final. John I think will go through a dance off. Although the gay vote is huge, so it may work in his favour..
