Absolutely loved it!

My list of big house jobs includes 'declutter' in every room so I was hoping to put off doing it be inspired. Loved Stacey Solomon though would have liked more from Ivan on the cleaning.

I liked his shaving foam on carpet stains tip! I do prefer the other three tho.

Shaving foam gets all sorts of things out of carpets - including messes by untrained puppies, as my mum taught me in the 70s

Yep and the dreaded Joe Swash is shoe horned in as well

I shouldn’t, but I quite love Stacy and Joe.

Rummikub · 22/02/2024 22:15

It was funny when he mentioned the reward chart he has 😂

I think having Stacy and all the kids definitely keeps Joe on the straight and narrow. I imagine without her influence he'd have been a bit of a middle aged 'lad'.

flowerycurtain · 23/02/2024 19:07

Oh this episode had me in floods. What a wonderful family, the little girls are so lovely.

I too am a big Stacey and Joe fan. Love them on Instagram - bit of a guilty pleasure though!

megletthesecond · 24/02/2024 16:56

It was so kind of them to pre-wrap all the Xmas baubles for him. I do hope it's a gentle fresh start for the family.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 27/02/2024 19:55

Is it not on tonight due to the football?

Looks that way 🙄

mysparkleismissing · 27/02/2024 21:44

Gutted!

mysparkleismissing · 27/02/2024 21:44

Gutted!

Me too! Football on both main channels was so unnecessary 😬

FeedMeSantiago · 28/02/2024 11:40

I was looking forward to SYLO all day yesterday and was gutted when DH told me about the football!

Rummikub · 28/02/2024 16:39

I thought I had the wrong day!

Saw a sylo book in Tesco. Didn’t open it to see what was in it. If it’s a step by step guide I might consider it.

Someo · 28/02/2024 21:33

Just came up to bed with baby to settle down to watch e2 to find it's not there 😩

PermanentTemporary · 29/02/2024 21:42

Finally caught up with Ep 1 and sobbed. The same evening as a china box my dad gave me when I was six and where i keep my engagement ring since dh died got pushed off my chest of drawers by dp's cats because I've got too many half-worn clothes on there and it smashed. That's it, I need Rob to build me some bedroom storage.

Could the repair shop fix your china box? @PermanentTemporary

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 01/03/2024 13:43

@PermanentTemporary - there’s a Japanese repair technique called Kintsugi, where broken ceramics are repaired but the joins are outlined in gold, to make the repair beautiful, because it is part of the history of the piece. Maybe that could be used to mend your box?

MyCousinsNotVinny · 01/03/2024 13:48

Ceramics expert Kirsten Ramsay on the repair shop can literally fix anything. She is some kind of magician. Did you see Season 8 Episode 3 when she repaired a broken nightlight that was in pieces - it was on two levels because it was like a bunny house inside. It is just jaw dropping to watch. It was a pile of rubble and she made it whole again. I love watching her bits on that show. It's zero Kintsugi - it all looks like new with invisible joins. Amazing.

@MyCousinsNotVinny

I've only caught bits of it here and there, I've never watched a full episode.

MyCousinsNotVinny · 01/03/2024 14:04

@EineReiseDurchDieZeit seriously? what are you doing with your life???

It is a lovely lovely programme. It's such heartwarming slow tv and the skills of the craftspeople are mind blowing to watch.

Often the objects represent a deceased loved one - a mother, father, grandparents usually who owned it or is associated with it - so there can be real tearjerking moments when they see the repairs. Its not always like that though.

I love it and it's very much settle down with a cup of tea type viewing.

Strongly recommend it. Give it a go!

FeltCarrot · 05/03/2024 20:13

Gosh, this family have a serious hoarding habit.

Curtainconundrum · 05/03/2024 20:22

They really do. All that money on storage too!

Blueberrycreampie · 05/03/2024 20:22

Why don't they agree beforehand to chuck all the bb dated foodstuffs?

Meredusoleil · 05/03/2024 20:31

A lot of tonight's stuff is actually rubbish/waste that has no use at all, so shouldn't even have been in the house!

Thesearmsofmine · 05/03/2024 20:34

I’m just watching this from the beginning like this 😮 😮 😮 The poor kids having to live in that hovel, not having much money doesn’t mean you have to live that way, we certainly don’t.
